Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I suppose it's because most at GameFAQS are young, but still, this troubles me that people would try to come up with so many excuses as to why what happened was alright, and perfectly fine... http://s1.cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessa...8&topic=4782273 ...*sigh*, would someone PLEASE end the madness? Sincerely, ...Downhome...

Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 22, 2002 shit in WinMx chats there are still nWo and Dx marks cybering and never ever talk about the actual product of WWE, if the subject ever comes up its like "I just gave you the Last Ride, so shut up" or "I wanna do the Divas"

Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted October 22, 2002 My theory is that everyone is trying to justify that what they saw on their TVs was "okay" ....I think that most viewers are in denial about the whole thing... I hated the crucifying and anything to do with death (see: Ministry, the 20 foot car drop, the throwing of bodies over bridges, etc) Hardcore matches were fine with me (for the most part) because as fans we knew what to expect (read: garbage wrestling) and they never went too over the line... Then we get into the sex... The only storylines I didn't enjoy revolving around sex were anything including Mae Young, Chyna, Mark Henry, or Vince McMahon. The storyline now with Torrie and Dawn is nothing but useless T&A filler material that nobody should care about. But tonight...tonight was the dawning of a new era of wEw NITRaw......the storyline has been so over the top with swerves, stupidity that they are trying to pass as comedy, and the biggest plotholes I've ever seen. Kane has had more transformations on his original character/backstory than any other character EVER... the WW_ should have kept Kane in the MONSTER gimmick or in the COMEDIC MONSTER gimmick like before he was injured. I actually enjoyed his skits with Rock and Hogan and the likes. Now it seems that the WW_ wants to go over the line at every chance...with this "Elimination Chamber" looming on the horizon...now might be a good time to snap out of the denial and start to believe that we are witnessing the 2nd major downfall of the WW_ in the past 8 years... if something doesn't change soon, one day we will sit around this board and wish for the times when a burned freak had sex with a dead girl...........because everything will be GONE... sure...we may still have Japan, RoH, CZW, NWA-TNA, and etc......but most of us became hooked on wrestling through Vince McMahon...and I, at least, don't want to see it die the slow painful death it is dying. Something drastic needs to happen and SOON... or the lethal poison that Vince spoke of earlier this year will finally destroy his creation...but it won't be the nWo...it won't be an outside force.......it will be his own doing.... the death of the WW_ is looking more and more to be labeled a suicide... Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I just figured it out. All of this is because Vince McMahon got one up on the PTV people and now hes trying to feel all powerful because he can put this crap on TV and they can't bitch and moan about it being offensive and harmful to children. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 22, 2002 eh, the problem with that is that SOMEONE must have found this offensive. That person needs to call TNN, UPN, Viacom or even the FCC...If enough people call and complain, it could put a stop to this crap..

Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I really can't even describe the feeling I had when watching that viginette. I think it was disgusting and I am so glad no one else was around me while it came on because this was the mother of all skits that make someone feel embarassed to be a wrestling fan. I kind of expected that type of thing to go on, but it was way too drawn out and the graphic length to the groping and Trips pinning her leg up was atrocious. I'm sure that has been discussed, so I won't go into that anymore. Basically I was numb to the whole thing becaus I kind of just expected it. I saw it coming and any hope for something like that not going on was killed instantly. I can't really complain about it, this is just one of those things that adds to that, "This is what shouldn't happen, but since it's the WWE it'll probably happen" mentallity. You know someone like Bischoff will probably take the blame for the huge backlash I'm expecting, but Vince really needs a kick in the ass.
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted October 22, 2002 you'd think something in Vince's head would have snapped and he would have said "YOU GUYS WANT TO DO WHAT?!" at some point...
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I always just kind of said, Vince McMahon is no idiot, he's a billionaire and he's been on top as well as some low points. He'll pick it up, he knows what he is doing. People like us who think he's an idiot will be put to rest because he's not head of the WWE for nothing. Upon the veiwing of tonight's Raw, I take it back. VINCE IS AN IDIOT.

Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted October 22, 2002 No man with any intelligence could in one year let ratings drop to a new low and lose his greatest superstar ever. These soap opera angles are his idea and he likes them. If that makes him sit back and breathe a sigh of accomplishment, well then I call him an idiot. Steve Austin is a genius. Pure and simple, he leaves because of bad writing. Look what happens even AFTER his walkout?!?!
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I'm counting myself thankful to have not watched the skit - once I heard "the tape" mentioned I tuned back in to Monday Night Football. Unfortunately when I tuned back in I had to listen to Lawler's stupid jokes on the whole matter. I can't understand this. OK, soap opera storylines are fine, the HHH/Angle/Stephanie love triangle angle in 2000 was great. Introducing some soap opera elements in order to further feuds is fine with me. Hell, I'm fine with the Tracey angle, at least it's furthering a feud. But how does sports entertainment = necrophilia? I'm not the censoring type, but common sense dictates that NO ONE would consider necrophilia an appropriate topic for a TV show. I'm scared as to where these new storylines will go next. Perhaps we can have RVD bring his stash to the ring and get high. Maybe we can have HHH rape Trish in the shower. Oooh ooh I know - Rosey and Jamal can be incestuous brothers! Yeah! The PTC will HAVE to swallow that one! You tell them, Vince! We love watching your fantasies played out on screen with your wrestlers re-enacting them! We love you always needing to have the last word! Not. I can't understand how someone finds this entertaining. I can't understand how this is related to wrestling at all. I REALLY can't understand how ratings are going up, if only slightly. Screw RAW, I can't wait for Smackdown. I hope everyone encourages their friends and family to watch Smackdown. The last thing I want is for the crap to spill over and I have to watch Edge, Guerrero, Rey and Angle involved in this. I also want them to see wrestling the way it should be, with the actual wrestling being the spotlight, not some idea sprung from the deepest fantasy of a senile owner or an uncreative writer. The other week with Takers "fling" showing up was the begining, and as for the other crap spilling over, well, I have three words for you... ...The. Big. Show. Don't forget he was TRADED, so some of those you don't want "involved", could very well be on the way TO RAW.

Guest Muzz Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I missed RAW... but I won't make you explain what the tape was about. Actually, I've missed about 20 RAW's, so it's not that big a deal... Vince is just digging his own grave with his soap opera/wrestling product. The two should never mix... well, unless it would actually make sense, and would make for good wrestling, but instead, you have Kane and Triple H, who can't cut a decent promo and could never even look like making the story work. Well, no one could make that story work.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Trips promised a tape at the beginning of Raw revealing SOMETHING... At about the halfway mark of Raw, in an interview with Coach, he finally revealed it... It was supposed to be a real video of what Kane did to Katie Vick 10 years ago, but it instead was a Triple H parody of Kane (ala the "Have A Nice Day" skits back in 2000) where he sneaked into a funeral home, began talking to the dead corpse of Katie (who was in a open casket). After about a few minutes of talk, Trips began fondling the corpse's breast and genitals (blurred out on TNN), then began to remove her underwear and bra... <holy shit, I just realized this makes me sick just typing this out.> Trips, using double entendres to crack the already-dead crowd that were subjected to this in person, with"Wow, you're stiff, Katie! Wait, speaking of STIFF....". He then "mounted" her, posting up a leg, and began to- well, you know, as the camera faded out. These parts were represented by a montage of flowers and stuff. The camera came back into focus, and as Trips looked over at Katie again... "WAIT, WHAT I HAVE DONE?!?" "...OH NO, WHAT HAVE I DONE!?! IS IT TRUE?!?" Trips, reached over behind Katie's ear and produced an egg salad of some sort. Yes, Muzza, he screwed her brains out... Camera cut back to HHH in real-time with Coach, as he lets out this *noise* while in mid-hysteria, which will be now known as as the HHHonk.

Guest kane3212321 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Instead of watching Raw I watched Kawada vs. Taue from Champions Carnival 1995 then Austin vs. Bret from Survivor Series 1996. Why watch bad wrestling when I can just go through my tape collection and watch absolute classics?
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I could have dug it if they're cut the damn thing in half. HHH: "-uhhh then I'd only-uhh, be getting half as much-uhh, tv time-uhhh..." Exactly. If they would have cut a lot of time out of it I could have enjoyed it as bad comedy, but it was just too long.
