-SP, who hopes that Vince isn't just blowing money for the moment.

You forget that Vince is responsible for:

- signing useless strongman Mark Henry to a 10-year contract

- signing underachieving Pig Show to a multi-year, big-pay contract

- signing the big-name wCw talent afterthe inVasion, when he could have cashed in on them

- regularly approves ridiculous storylines and booking moves

Need I say more?

Thou Shalt not steal (heat)

Thou Shall not covet thy neighbor (Bulldog's Wife)

Thou shalt not kill (bret's career)

Wasn't the second just an angle?

Yeah but I recall reading something that said Shawn as often putting the moves on her...besides....I'm sure he fucked someone's wife.

Big Show has three shirts.

One is all black and red and says large and in charge on the back, the other is his logo on the front (name logo) in blue with his face behind it. His 3rd shirt you all know and love is the big nasty bastard one. Just thought I'd clear that up.

I like the HBK shirts, but it seems like everyone's are the same now. No deign, just a ctachphrase in white on a balck shirt. If his tattoo would have beein on there in the logo using the same color scheme it might have stood out more.

*Nod* Between the writing, Steph, desperation signings, and the shows in general, there's a whole lot of blowing going on.

As a guy who started paying attention when the Monday Night Wars started to wind down, the desperation signgings are incredible, if only for presence alone.

Now I can't imagine a crappy wrestling show without Eric Bischoff promos making me laugh the way through.

You've a point, notJames and AndrewTS. Is it me, or does it seem like whenever the wrestling "cycle" has hit a downward trend, Vince's bad spending habits are near the spotlight? Or it just may be they are talked about more in the bad times. I dunno. My memory is horrible.

Man that shirt rocks. I just looks so cool. It's the best HBK shirt ever. I'd buy it...If I didn't hate Shawn that is.

yeah, they've done it again, putting stuff on the back when they didn't need it. NO SUBTLETY. I kinda like the slogan this time though.

Oh TAG~!

Personally, I think my hatred has dwindled into indifference. He makes me feel almost nothing.

Aside: How fitting that he should pop out of a casket, much like many unwanted scary dead things.

Saturnmark makes a good point about subtlety. Between the entrance themes and the T-Shirts, it's like the WW_ wants to cram down everyone's catchphrases down our throats. We get it.

SpiderPoet: the nadirs of the wrestling trend don't put Vince's spending sprees in the spotlight; rather, during the down cycle, Vince is prone to panicking and signing guys he really shouldn't. Example: Ultimate Warrior re-signing in '94 (?). Showed up for a couple of PPVs, went nuts, then promptly disappeared on Vince. Bad move.

Matt shirt is now on ShopZone. It quickly sold out. And I wanted one, too. <_<

Exactly. But he showed up in 1996, not 1994.

I remember because his first match back was at WrestleMania 12, which was in 1996.

Thanks. I'm allergic to simple Internet research ;)

When things are going well, it seems like he's trying to make things a little better. When they aren't going well, it seems like he's doing things out of desperation, since it means he's relying on the new signings rather than to simply incorporate them into his current talent base.
