Recommended Posts

Thanks to Dan Marino. Cris Carter has left "Inside The NFL". Come out of retirement and signs with The Miami Dolphins.

Lord no...let Marino's legacy be what it is and avoid the embarassing comback. I don't think he could do it.

And if they were on a team together you'd just have to hear every week about how neither of them won a ring...blah blah blah

I didn't think Carter woudl stay out long anyway

Im hearing the rumors that Ray Lucas is getting paid by the Jets to tank the Dolphins so the J-E-T-S SUCK SUCK SUCK can get back into the race..

The Phins might be better off giving the ball to Ricky Williams every single play, having him play QB/RB..I know he can throw the ball because I saw him do it last year in New Orleans and he couldn't possibly be worse than Ray Lucas..

I can't wait to see Carter come after Lucas like a little girl after Lucas overthrows him in the endzone. I'm pretty sure Carter will actually make the Fins worse.

I'm wondering how Cris can leave HBO just like that.

Anyway, he's a definite improvement for the Dolphins' receiving corp, but I don't think it makes them much better. With Lucas in there, they'll suck anyway, and if they don't show a running game, it will be the exact same as the last 15 years in Miami.

Carter is considered one of the most self-centered players in the locker room and I can't argue with that opinion.

When the Vikings lost to the Bears last season, Carter couldn't control his anger on the field when he was open for a catch but did not get the ball. Carter snapped and screamed at Dante Culpepper and a couple of assistant coaches. The real standout moment of that episode was when Carter screamed at head coach Dennis Green and told him to "find yourself another puppet."

Yeah, Carter sure did make a great role model for the young guys on the Vikings last season with all those on-field outbursts and disregard for the coaching staff.

*rolls eyes*

Carter was not showing people last season that he could still bring the goods to the table. Maybe that was due to laziness or becoming disenchanted with a loser team. Either way, Carter did not give the fans the idea that he still could compete in the league at a high level.

Carter reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with $600,000 guaranteed and $700,000 in incentives.

Randy Moss was interviewed in the local paper today and had an interesting comment about Carter and how he might be a marked man in the NFL:

"I love it. And I think a lot of football players teams he's been making comments about will love it too."

Lucas isn't as bad as he showed on Sunday. Granted, he's not awesome, but he can't possibily play that bad.

....right?

I'd love to see Marino come out and have him and Carter get their rings together. He doesn't even have to play starter the whole time, since a couple good hits would kinda mess him up bad. The other news was Aikman, at which point we pretty much turn into the early 90's Cowboys.

Huge Marino fan, but he's been out of the game for like 3 years now. It's doubtful he's kept himself in game shape, not to mention an entirely new offense & personnel. Dan coming back would be bad for everyone involved.

Lucas isn't as bad as he showed on Sunday.

If every pass you throw falls to the turf incomplete, your QB rating at the end of the day will be 39.6. That's like getting 200 points on the SAT because you put your name on the paper. After Lucas' miserable day Sunday, his rating was just over 24. That's really bad. No, I don't think he's that horrible, but after a day like that, he has a lot to prove to a lot of people.

No Lucas while not great isn't as bad as he played last week. They will "tweak" the offense for the next two weeks and Lucas won't look as bad coming off the bye week.

Did you watch Lucas on Sunday? That was horrible, that was arguably worse than Rob Johnson.

I've seen Lucas before, and the only way he's effective is by not doing anything stupid. He has poor accuracy, and makes stupid decisions when he needs to throw. The only asset he has is scrambling.

Carter coming back doesn't surprise me. Remember this offseason? He was being chased by several teams, including the Dolphins, Rams and Eagles to be a third wide reciever. However Carter demanded starter's money, and since no one wanted him to start, he retired, and joined Inside the NFL right before the preseason started. So I'm not surprised that he jumped at an opportunity to play again.

Well i didn't say that Lucas is a great qb, but just because he had a horrible game doesn't mean he's useless.

He'll be better than last week now that they have time to completely work in an offensive game plan to fit their new starters. They did only have 5 days to prepare a gameplan with two new starting WRs and QB, so of course they were going to have a rough game.

One of my favorite offseason moments was when the Rams wanted to get Carter as a third receiver. Carter blew off his trip to visit the Rams, figuring they should thank him for signing at all. Then the Rams told Carter to go eat a dick.

No-longer-Evil-Alina : I read Carter's HBO contract had a clause where he could back out at any time if he wanted to come out of retirement. He'll probably be welcome back after the season, unless of course he makes an ass of himself, which he will.

So does it become a Three man show or do they put on of the Correspondants in for Carter?

Someone reads their Tuesday Morning Quarterback. Lucas is not that bad of a QB, and he at least took complete responsibility for what he did. Maybe next Monday he'll stink the joint up again, but I don't think a competitor like that will.

As far as lucas goes, the line didn't help him much. Missing both starting receivers hurt. norv Turner should of been ramming Ricky Williams, Robert Edwards, Travis Minor and Robet Konrad down the Bills throats. But alas, he was responsible for 6 turnovers in the game and was man enough to take the heat for it.

Bright Spot for Dolphins Fans: Maybe my boys will knock Lucas out so someone more capable can take his place, assuming his backup would be better.

The back-up would be Sage Rosenfels. I don't know much about him, but his name is "Sage", so I'm not expecting super-QB.

The Indigenous Persons traded Sage to the Dolphins. When a guy's competition is Ramsey, Wuerffel, and Shane Matthews, and he loses, I think it's safe to say he sucks.
