Guest starvenger Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Way over 10 minutes, and more impressive seeing as the guy was stone deaf when he composed it. ...Oh come on, you KNEW someone was gonna throw a classical piece in here...
Guest Cerebus The Aardvark Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 ...Oh come on, you KNEW someone was gonna throw a classical piece in here... I almost did, actually...but it'd be something a lot better than Beethoven's 9th; Symphonie Fantastique, for instance.
Guest LooseCannon Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Berlioz over Beethoven? hmm... I'm gonna ponder that.
Guest ZGangsta Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 To clear up a couple things. "Coma" is 10:15 "Kashmir" is well under 10 minutes. My pick goes to "Coma"
Guest Pop Culture God Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 How long is Midnight Sonata? If it's over ten, then I'll add it. INAGADDADAVIDA is an obvious choice. Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Quite a few YES songs were over 15 mins. and were quite good. Stairway to Heaven was 10:45
Guest redbaron51 Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Jethro Tull: Thick As A Brick Pink Floyd: Echoes Dream Theater: Metropolis Dream Theater: A Change of Season Dream Theater: The Glass Prision Yes: Starship Trooper
Zorin Industries Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Bauhaus: Bela Lugosi's dead not quite 10 mins but close enough, fucking quality as well
Guest Addy Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Some of Mortiis's old stuff goes way over ten minutes and is gold.
Guest Brian Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 How long is "Oh Well" by Fleetwood Mac? "Underture" from The Who's Tommy is probably good enough.
Guest benoitrules2000 Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Im not sure but i think freebird is over ten minutes. And thank god someone put in inagaddadivida And long as were on the classical page i have to go with adagio for strings though i think it's only eight minutes+. But damned if it isn't classical perfection.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf.........*ducks things being thrown at him* I think it's 10 min. I've heard he originally had a 20 min version.
Guest Cerebus The Aardvark Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Berlioz over Beethoven? hmm... I'm gonna ponder that. Berlioz over the 9th Symphony, yes. I'm just not a big fan of the 9th. But I'll take Vivaldi over all of them.
Guest whatitistoburn Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Jimmy Eat World - Goodbye Sky Harbor
Guest saturnmark4life Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 i agree with all the tool and maiden ones, and there's a melvins cover of 'interstellar overdrive' which is FUCKING TRIPPY at the end due to them messing about with all the levels so it alternates between speakers rapidly. I don't know if it does that on the original or not though. Oh and 'PSY' and 'jimi' by the butthole surfers HAVE to be in there.
