I was listening to the song "Purple Haze" by Groove Armada and was thinking what is everybodies favourtie song to do with drugs. There were a few that came to mind when I thought about it but what do you think?

Depends on the drug.

Weed-Almost anything by Type O Negative or Acid Bath. Cephalic Carnage and Neurosis are a couple good stoned bands, too. I'd be hard-pressed to pick a song though.

Acid-Easy one. Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict-Pink Floyd.

A close second is the Tribes Of Neurot CD.

i don't think 'lithium' is really ABOUT lithium, it seems to be more about manic depression.

unless you want to argue for 'strawberry fields forever' as a drug song (and i don't think it is), the undisputed best drug song EVER is 'heroin', by the velvet underground. great lyrics, only 2 chords, & the alternation between the quiet and the noise is just mind-bending, especially with the chaotic viola. i was listening to it driving one night, & i got such a rush from it that i seriously felt like i was not on this planet.

I second "Sweet Leaf" by Black Sabbath.

Well you could argue that alot of The Beatles songs that they made after discovering drugs are drug songs. However they are mainly just songs inspired by drugs not about drugs.

NO NO NO

godthedog had it right, the absolutely positivley best song about drugs is Heroin by the Velvet Underground. Priceless lyrics complement the simple song structure. I just heard this for the first time about 2months ago and is probably the most playe dsong on my computer right now. It's wierd when a song about hard drug usage gets caught in your head and you sing it all day, people give you wierd looks.

Honarable Mention: Pool Shark ~ Sublime and Alan's Psychadelic Breakfast ~ Pink FLoyd

Ahem.

CLEARLY, the best drug song is "Feel Good Hit of the Summer", by Queens of the Stone Age.

"Nicotine, Valium, Vicodin, marijuana, ecstasy, and alcohol...C-C-C-C-Cocaaaaaaaaaaaaaaine!"

S.

Master of Puppets - Metallica.

End of passion play, crumbling away

I'm your source of self-destruction

Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear

Leading on your deaths construction

Taste me you will see

more is all you need

you're dedicated to

how I'm killing you

Oh, fuck master of puppets. I hate that goddamn song. It never ends, every riff is boring, the vocals suck, and the lyrics are the weakest allusion I've EVER heard. If that song came on in a car when I was trying to enjoy my buzz, I'd climb out the window.

Hey, that's your opinion. But the S&M version of the song makes it a lot more energetic than its original dated sound.

I always thought that song was about drug addiction... therefore not making it a good song to smoke up to

besides, drugs are very bad for you.

Man, any Sublime song is good to get stoned too. Anything from the whole Skunk label is good stuff to blaze to.

Anything by the band, "Cream" or Jimi Hendrix rules.

The difference is, back in the 60's, 70's doing drugs was never about "being cool" it was just something to due besides drinking, and to relax and chill to listen to some tunes and "expand the mind" Now you have all these young teens getting blazed before class, because some rapper told them it is "cool" to get high.
