Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted October 24, 2002 MOOOOOOOOOOOOORTAL KOOOOOMBAAAAT!! Yes, to promote this contest, they've chosen WWE Raw's very own murdering necrophilic rapist. Of course, you don't HAVE to chose him, but funny choice for the ad. Contest details here. MK was big once, before decending in popularly into a landslide of utter crap (although I think MK1 blew the big one--2 rocked though). How art imitates life... Guest Sakura Report post Posted October 24, 2002 None of the main games that Boon was part of were crap. MK 3 > MK II

Guest mach7 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Bah, Mortal Kombat Trilogy on N64 blows them ALL outta da water! lol
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Bah, Mortal Kombat Trilogy on N64 blows them ALL outta da water! lol MK3 = crap in my opinion. No...tap-tap combos and fatalities with hands suspended in mid-air at the wrists (with people filled with gooey cherry filling) do not a good game make. Plus Trilogy ripped off the Aggressor meter idea from SFA2. Unbalanced as all hell--MK2 rules them all. I don't know how bad MKT for N64 really was, but check out my review of the PSX version here. Oh, and I have UMK3 for Saturn, BTW. But MKT was just sooo bad.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 You know something? If he were still in WWE, I could see Gangrel doing the promotional adds for Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. Be a better choice than Kane, IMO.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Say, why can't they name a guy Vlad or something and give him Gangrel's old entrance, complete with... ::poses, spits blood:: ...So THAT'S why Gangrel was fired!!
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Say, why can't they name a guy Vlad or something and give him Gangrel's old entrance, complete with... ::poses, spits blood:: ...So THAT'S why Gangrel was fired!! Hey...you're right...that COULD be the reason he was kicked out! ...then again, Gangrel was using that when HHH was still DX... Oh, and it's "Mysterious Red Liquid", remember? Guest Sakura Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Plus Trilogy ripped off the Aggressor meter idea from SFA2. What??? SFA2 doesn't have an Aggressor Meter.

It doesn't call it that, but the Custom Combo gauge? V-ISM's Variable Combos in A3? Similar idea, with the shadows and such, but works maybe more like the Rage gauge in SamSho. Guest Sakura Report post Posted October 25, 2002 I would agree it's a rip off of the Rage Gauge.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted October 25, 2002 I would agree it's a rip off of the Rage Gauge. The "shadows" are pure SF, though. Kane's MK fatality would be running off screen and then driving a stickshift into you--I'd love to hear Lui Kang scream during that.
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 25, 2002 About the Gangrel thing: Gangrel was fired because HHH was envious of the fact that not only did he have flowing blond hair, but he hung out with two OTHER guys with long flowing hair. Wasn't Gangrel fired because his gimmick was owned by White Wolf instead of the WWE?

Wasn't Gangrel fired because his gimmick was owned by White Wolf instead of the WWE? Never heard about that, but if so they could have just retooled him instead of booting him. There may have been a situation with Luna a la Lawler/Kitty. However, I kinda just figured they had no use for him anymore and released him. Kinda like what WWE did with Lynn. Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 25, 2002 I thought they fired Lynn because he shooted on JR.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted October 25, 2002 MK's 1-4 fuckin rocked for a 2nd dimensional fight game. when they went into MK like a Tekkan means Soul Edge meets MK game ruined it and MK's Storyline was totally indepted.
Guest mickberna Report post Posted October 25, 2002 MK2 > MK3... for one reason, pure and simple. When Liu Kang's dragon fatality went from realistic-chinese-dragon-of-death to shitass-neon-dragon-of-discomfort, I went mental. Plus, MK2 has a better pit level, and the level with the spikes on the ceiling. MK3 did have the combos, the run button, and some cool characters, but it was MK2 that kept me in the arcade every day after school.
Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted October 25, 2002 I thought they fired Lynn because he shooted on JR. nothing to do with mortal kombat, but i rewatched judgement day 2001 recently and you can literally see lynn's wwf career die in the space of his promo from new york. sad. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted October 25, 2002 I thought they fired Lynn because he shooted on JR. Well, that's the excuse they gave for firing him, I mentioned. May not be the real reason. Oh...and wonder how soon GLACIER is going to return to promote it as well? Remember, it was ALL BISCHOFF'S IDEA the WHOLE TIME!

If just for the cool entrance they gave him. Yeah, but then he'd be jobbed HHH, who would steal his entrance, only he'd add "pose, spit water" at the end. Although, conversely, I'd love to see HHH submit to a thumb jab into the pec.
