Guest justcoz Report post Posted October 25, 2002 I was really disappointed that Michael Cole and Tazz didn't trash the angle on Raw and rip on Raw for what the show is resorting to for ratings. It would have been a good opportunity to give the feel of legit heat between the two shows - setting them apart. Cole and Tazz could have preached during Mysterio/Edge vs. The Guerrerros or Angle vs. Benoit that Smackdown is about wrestling not the sick over the top antics of Triple H, etc. It would have made what happened Monday night even more controversial. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Well, that's because Smackdown is too good to give Raw credibility at all. Plus, insulting that storyline would have put them in hot water with HHH.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted October 25, 2002 WWE can't afford to talk degrade RAW any further
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 25, 2002 In a way, I think if Smackdown trash talked RAW, and vice versa, it would build the competition between the shows somewhat, and possibly, help RAW become a better show. Smackdown doesn't really need improving, not as much as RAW anyways. Still, Bischoff should trash talk Smackdown, and Stephanie would trash talk RAW.

Smackdown doesn't really need improving, not as much as RAW anyways. Still, Bischoff should trash talk Smackdown, and Stephanie would trash talk RAW. Except: Raw is a show run by heels (Triple H to be precise) and where the forces of good are routinely defeated, humiliated, and slandered with murder and necrophillia accusations that they are not allowed to refute with any real zeal. SD is filled with tweeners and has a champion who's opponents are people who deserve to get their asses kicked. Not to mention the quality issues, where Raw sucks donkey balls. If anything, Raw needs to start elevating new top face talent, steal off SD's top talent (IE Kurt Angle, who needs desperately to be yanked from SD and his going no-where angle with Chris Benoit and put on Raw to help dilute the HHH God-Push) and castrate HHH's God-Push before they can resume the all out name-calling and such. Until then, keep it simply between Bischoff and Steph and not with the other wrestlers and announcers...
Guest jester Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Actually, this one of the reasons why the split makes no sense. Yes, absolutely Raw sucked beyond human comprehension, and if WWE had done a show like this when WCW was alive, WCW would have raked then over the coals for it. But "rival" Smackdown is a WWE product, so they can't really run down the "competition" anymore. The same goes when HHH was handed his vanity belt. It was a dumb decision. Wouldn't a rival show smugly say that they make their champions wrestle for their belts, which in fact is what Smackdown did when they introduced their own tag straps? Stephanie: Raw sucks! The best stuff is on Smackdown! Marks: You're right. Smackdown is a lot better. We will never watch Raw again because you are good and Eric is evil. Stephanie: Uh, wait a minute... Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Unfortunately, I missed Smackdown last night. Though, I did finally watch the Smackdown before No Mercy, and I can say that I enjoyed it more than RAW to be quite honest. By the way, that was the first time I've watched Smackdown since the show before SummerSlam. I've been taping all of them, but I just didn't get around to watching them until yesterday.
