Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Here is a report from one of the shows over there that I read. When WWE goes over seas they usually run the same show everytime so for whoever is going, you may not want to read this and be SPOILED. The whole evening started with SmackDown`s ring-announcer saying that the Undertaker wouldn`t be here tonight. This made the crowd BOOO for a minute or two until we started off with the first match of the evening. Match #1: Billy Kidman vs John Cena: There was still some people getting on their chairs and this match opened the evening. John Cena entered the arena first, we couldn`t really hear the music because it was so loud. Now, anyway, then Billy Kidman entered. Now, at this moment, we all were still amazed how small that ring really is and how big those guys look in real life! Back to the match; When did John Cena become a heel? I`ve missed few SmackDown`s but I didn`t know John had become a heel! Cena put Kidman into few locks and they ex-changed holds now and then, basic baby-face-stuff for Kidman, who in the end won the match. I sure remember there were some people who laughed at the first match, because "they don`t hit really"... Well, no-one really laughed after the first match.. God, it`s entertainment and some people still can`t see that. Well, all and all, the match was not that good before the finish, when Billy Kidman hit Shooting Star Press, the crowd exploded... Match #2: Albert & Crash vs Funaki & Shannon Moore: This one got the crowd excited. Everyone liked Albert because he was so big compared to the other wrestlers (they`re all cruiserweights in my opinion). The match started with Crash starting up against Funaki. The start was really funny, Crash mocked Funaki by waving his hands like in kung-fu and this made the crowd happy I personally think that after seeing that match Crash is much better than he has been on TV. OK, again, back to the match. When Crash tagged Albert in to the ring, he gave some REALLY nice clotheslines and people were cheering him! He lifted Shannon Moore high in the sky few times (Military Press or something), but Shannon escaped the second drop. The match ended with Funaki and Moore giving some nice drop-kicks to Albert, I really couldn`t see the finish (we had the lousiest seats on the house), but I think it was Shannon Moore, who pinned Crash (Albert was trying to help him or something). After the match, Albert got mad at Crash and started hammering him. Then we saw all three "cruiserweights" drop-kick Albert from the ring and they all went backstage. This one was much better than the first match, Albert really had the crowd with him and we had really fun watching Funaki running away from Albert all the time =) Match #3: D-Von (with Ron Simmons) vs Bill DeMott: OK, I first thought that they were going to have a tag team match with the new team, but it was a singles match. D-Von & Faarooq (as I like to call him) entered with D-Von`s music. D-Von also had few words to say about Helsinki! People near me where shouting; "D-Von, get the tables!" Oh, that almost got me cheering for D-Von, but then Bill DeMott (aka Hugh Morrus) came and the match started. Now, we saw the typical "handicap"-match as we always see when there`s somebody on ring-side with the heel. D-Von won this match pretty fast, but DeMott had some momentum with him and he wrestled good. I don`t think anyone in Finland has really seen the best of this man, hopefully we will in the future. Match #4: WWE Title: Brock Lesnar © vs Booker T: Now I must say I`m not 100% sure in which order few of the matches came, but I can remember that this match started pretty early for a World Title-match. Brock entered the ring and also had few words for everyone. He said there was no-one in the SmackDown-locker-room, who had the balls to face him. He waited for a moment and nobody came... after Booker T`s music hit. God, I almost had a heart-attack because of those explosion-effects. Booker jumped into the ring and took the mic as Brock was already leaving. Booker said few words and the match started. This was actually a good match, really fast moves, clotheslines, locks, everything basicly... Booker gave Brock some Scissors Kicks in the end but it just didn`t seem to work. Booker had really much momentum and we saw the Spin-A-Roonie! Unfortunately, Brock picked Booker up on his shoulders and executed a nice F5. Brock then pinned Booker and headed back to backstage. Now, Booker was still lying on the ring and I remember myself shouting "Spin Booker, Spin!", but that wasn`t enough for him to give another Spin-A-Roonie. Then Booker came out of the ring and screwed up!: There were some people in the front-row, who had the flag of Sweden (our neighbourhoods, our ARCH-RIVALS in sports!). Booker took the flag of Sweden and waved it a couple of times and damn, that got us boooing him out of the building! And it was pretty funny too Match #5: Arm-Wrestling: When we got back from the 15-20 min break, there was too chairs and a table in the ring, and some finnish people were arm-wrestling. I don`t know what the hell were they doing there and this was really boring, as I expected to see Tony Halme (Ludvig Borga in WWF) to arm-wrestle with someone, but there were only two skinny men =( Match #6: Cruiserweight title: Jamie Noble © vs Tajiri: I started cheering for Rey Mysterio after Noble entered the ring, since I had no clue who he was wrestling. Well, Tajiri came next and I was a bit disappointed, but this match was pretty good anyway. Nidia was not with Jamie Noble this time, but he really didn`t need her. Noble picked up the victory pretty fast from Tajiri, only thing I can really remember was Tarantula, which Tajiri executed (a really nice manouver). Fast match, not that bad tho. Match #7: Val Venis & Chuck Palumbo vs The Guerreros (Eddie & Chavo): This match was awesome. Val Venis & Chuck Palumbo first time as a tag team, and they worked pretty good together. Chuck had coloured his hair black and had black tights (Billy is injured I believe). Then Latino Heat`s music hit and everyone loved Eddie, it`s a damn shame that he always works as a heel. Chavo picked the flag of Sweden from the first row (Still thinking it was Finland`s flag I suppose). Chavo waved the flag and everyone booed, then he stopped and everyone cheered. Then they were looking for the flag of Finland everywhere, but couldn`t find it and ended up waving the flag of Mexico. Finally, some girl brought the flag of Finland to them and Chuck gave it to Chavo. Chavo and Eddie waved it for a while, only to throw it on the floor and stomp it! This made the crowd mad and then Chuck waved the flag and people cheered really big time. The match itself was really good, Chuck wrestled REALLY nice, like Angle. He gave all kinds of suplexes to the Guerreros, altough Val was wrestling for most of the match. Guerreros worked on Val`s legs, they put him in to many locks and this was the usual baby-face-match, except that the Guerreros won. I think Val was injured in this match, I`m not quite sure, but could have been. He wasn`t in the ring when the show started (all the good guys were there). Good match! Match #8: Matt Hardy vs Rikishi (Kiss my ass Match): Everyone cheered for Matt Hardy as he entered first. He also had something bad to say about Finland and then everyone BOOed him as usual. Rikishi then came and I think he had the biggest cheers of the night. I mean, people just loved him! This match was pretty much fun and Rikishi had a lot of momentum in this one. Matt Hardy tried to suplex Rikishi a few times and we had fun watching that =) In the end, Rikishi won the match and Matt refused to kiss his ass, after that the referee threatened to suspend Hardy if he didn`t come back and kiss Rikishi`s ass. Man, this segment lasted forever. Matt then gave a low-blow to Rikishi but Rikishi ended up giving Matt the stink-face. The match itself was not that good, I hated to see Matt BOOed, because I`m a fan of his. Rikishi really had the crowd with him, as he danced after the match! Match #9: Dawn Marrie vs Torrie Wilson (Bra and Panties Match): We standed on our chairs right after the announcer called for Dawn Marie to enter, these women are really hot and the match itself was pretty exciting. Torrie picked up the win pretty fast as usually. What`s the average-length of catfights? 3 minutes, like Bischoff says? Pretty good match anyway. Match #10: WWE Tag Team Championship: Edge & Rey Mysterio vs Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle ©: The crowd exploded when Rey Mysterio came to the ring, but more importantly, people cheered for Angle, until the part where everyone started screaming "YOU SUCK!" and I bet Angle had a quick laugh behind the curtain, since everyone was booing so fast and so much =) The match itself was GREAT, Rey had really much momentum and Angle giving his suplexes and Benoit giving his arm-locks was thrilling! I was just so disappointed because of the lack of their finishing manouvers. Ankle lock lasted for less than 10 seconds, Crossface even less. Man, I screamed "CROSSFACE!" for like 10 times during the match but I never really got to see it. In the end, Angle & Benoit picked up the win and then all the heels and faces of SmackDown fought in the ring and after that all the faces started dancing in the ring (like in MadTV, when the program ends). This was the first time I went to a WWE show and I can say this won`t be the last time. It really was excellent LIVE and this beats every other sport or entertainment in our world today. I was really amazed how small the ring was and the superstars looked really big in it. All and all, a good event with SmackDown-roster and Booker T giving their best for us.
