Guest the pinjockey Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Over at theSmarkMarks.com (a board that’s somehow managed to attract every lunatic and gibbering moron on the net well with TheSmartMarks.com forum having over three and a half times as many members as the OO forum I would say that the viewpoint this board has is the majority compared to them so aren't they infact the gibbering morons.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 The guy is totally full of shit.
Guest areacode212 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Have you seen this guy's other columns? The only thing he ever seems to write about is how much he hates smarks and the IWC. Doesn't he have anything more substantive to say? We should probably email Scaia to complain about what a pointless column Kyle writes.
Rob E Dangerously Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 why the hell is he using the Internet to write about wrestling and rant about how he hates the Internet's Wrestling Fans?
Guest T®ITEC Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Bcause he's blatantly dumb. BLATANTLY I SAY~! EDIT: AngleSault proves me wrong.
Guest Incandenza Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Hates TSM, loves HHH...it must be Shadow!
Guest T®ITEC Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 He's also blatantly dumb As am I! Another product of my own ignorance! Maybe I can be the next CWM..? No.
Guest SP-1 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Seems to me that this guy has some sort of a bone to pick with this board. Not to raise theories, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has/will resort to a troll run. Too bad we prolly wouldn't/won't figure out who it is specifically if he did/does. I would suggest not resorting to his level, though. Considering we haven't attacked his site directly or anything (to my knowledge?), he's just being a jerk and trying to bash us with his personal opinion. Hell, we've already given him more attention than he deserves by making a thread about this. If we retaliate, we could be in the beginning stages of a war, and none of us really want that. Well . . . okay, so it might be fun, but ultimately not bright. Let it die. -SP, who just wants us all to get along. Unless I somehow get quoted . . .
Guest bob_barron Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Anyone here thinks it's Smarkzone???
Guest DrTom Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Specifically, it's someone I banned. I don't remember his name on this board, but someone showed me that post on OO not long after he left here. Petty vendettas are always carried out by the immature and the stupid, so it's not really surprising. I think I'll email this Kyle chap, too.
Guest The Mysterious One Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 So another bitter virgin internet reporter has popped up eh? Well woop-de-fucking-do. This moron obviously can't tell his head from his ass, so I wouldn't take anything he says TOO seriously. I'll still take time to send him an email detailing how he can improve his life: Shoot yourself. Sincerely, The Mysterious One And Frankly the world would be a better place with out all these HHH fan boys running around condeming others for believing that HHH is the spawn of Satan.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 The funny thing was that he didn't mention the actual website's content, only the forums. I think people will be delightfully surprised when they look up that site and see a real site and not just a forum. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest godthedog Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 man...i am so tempted to email him something stupid saying "Y00 S*CK ELEFANT C*CK THESMARTMARKS ARE THE C00LEST WEBSITE EVER AND Y0UR JUST JEAL0US CAUSE Y0UR A BIG TRIPL H MARK WELL HE S*CKS AND HE H0LDS JERICH0 D0WN S0 THERE Y00 CAN S*CK IT B*TCH" just for the free personal publicity.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 I sent an email along with the one my Alter ego sent: The Smart Marks is a far superior site/forum, and judging by your article you've never set your eyes on it.
Guest godthedog Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 you guys do realize that all these emails are just going to encourage him to write another article talking about how bitchy we all are & how defensive we get when someone threatens our little dream trips-filled world with the truth, right?
Guest DrTom Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 you guys do realize that all these emails are just going to encourage him to write another article talking about how bitchy we all are & how defensive we get when someone threatens our little dream trips-filled world with the truth, right? As long as the emails we send aren't full of flying-off-the-handle screed, it's not our fault if he gets that impression. You can't control how someone is going to react to something you say, and you really shouldn't spend the time it takes to worry about it.
Guest DrTom Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Anyway, I wrote him a letter, too. Here it is: Kyle: My name is "Dr." Tom Fowler, and I am both a staff writer and the Content Manager at www.thesmartmarks.com, a site you took to task in your latest "Smarkies" column at OO. I'm not going to say you're wrong across the board because that would be untrue. The WWE folder in our forum does contain a lot of negativity about the current product, and about people like HHH in particular. The opinions of 2600 people can't really be changed, though, and if they want to carp about Raw and complain about HHH, that's up to them. However, on that same forum, we have a lot of other folders that don't have anywhere near that level of negativity. Our NWA:TNA folder has a lot of good discussions in it, as does the Puroresu folder. We have a thriving Current Events folder, where many of our posters prove they're a lot more than stereotypical wrestling fans. The forum has healthy discussion of all kinds of pop culture, from music to DVDs to sports to the adult film industry. We run the gamut on the forums, but there is definitely a lot of good to go along with the bad that you pointed out. Also (and more importantly), we have a rapidly-growing and popular website. A lot of people seem to think TSM is all about the forums, but they're wrong. Our site covers wrestling with show reports, PPV recaps, and two weekly news columns. We also cover a lot more than just wrestling: you'll find movie reviews, DVD reviews, rants about popular music, sports, and more. You should stop by and peruse our articles. At the risk of sounding biased, I think we have a pretty dashed good staff assembled, and I think they cover wrestling fairly. When it's good, we enjoy it and say so; when it's bad, we point out why. When it's consitently bad, we get frustrated like anyone else would. We also point out ways to improve things, which you can usually find in our Rants section. The writers at TSM are all wrestling fans, and I think I can safely say we all watch it for the wrestling. That's why I'm so down on Raw right now, because intelligence-insulting things like a necrophilia angle are getting center stage, and the in-ring product is treated like a second-class citizen. Smackdown, however, is very good, and I am incredibly glad I report on that show each week instead of Raw. Smackdown has the best roster in the world right now, and I can appreciate the good matches as exciting contests between two athletes. Not everyone gripes about certain people not holding belts, though that's certainly common in the smark community. One thing I have to wonder: you talk about Scott Keith, and how he writes about something he apparently hates. You seem to hate the common smark attitudes, yet you take the time to write a column about it, while criticizing that very behavior in others. What makes your position better than Scott Keith's, or anyone else who writes about something they don't seem to like much? Since there's no such thing as bad publicity, I feel I have to thank you for the free press, though I'm sure that wasn't your intent. Seriously, I think you should look around TSM some more, both the site itself and the forums. I think you'll find that we're not just a collection of smarky malcontents who parrot the Torch and carp about what we hate. If your opinion doesn't change after that, then I can't help you, but I do think you should give us a fair shake before passing judgment in the future. ----- No flames, no personal attacks, but it gets the point across. I can't see how someone would react poorly to a letter like this, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over the possibility.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 He'll probably harp on the Porno folder mention or something to get back at you. It's all he can find fault with. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest CanadianChick Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 That was a good letter. I wonder if he will come to the site to look around.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 I think I'll send him an email. It'll go something like this: Dear Kyle: HHH SUX! x50 That should get the point across.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Maybe I'll send him one that says: DUde...YOu are so RIGHT ON!!!!! HHH rox and so does TAKER THE DEADMAN WALKING!!!!
