Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 They tried to main event a house show with Bubba/HHH...and people left. So they scrapped that feud altogether and went with Kane/HHH. But they didn't main event house shows with that match...they went back to HHH/RVD to highlight the shows (my guess remains that they didn't want people walking out early on HHH/Kane.) So that's fine. Now they are going with HHH/KAne on the house shows... but does it main event? NO!!!! According to the RAW house show notes from Topeka or wherever last night... RVD vs. TEST!!! Was the last match! Does the WWE know that RVD keeps butts in the seat? TEST?????? And more importantly...if they have to resort to this so that fans don't go home early and unhappy (or why would you leave early?...Why not you know...push RVD.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 You know, they could just be seeting up RVD's next feud... ::runs away::
Guest HartFan86 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 This reminds me of RVD vs. Raven main eventing house shows last year...except Raven vs. RVD was actually, you know, decent.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 RVD was main eventing against raven because no one else would face RVD. It was right in the middle of the trail of blood.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 This is true. He had to face Raven and Tazz all the time. They main evented the old "B" house shows for a while.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 this could be the work of HHH, cause if the program between them fails, HHH can point to it and say, look he doest draw. Do I think HHH is behind this, no, but the HHHaters will. Either way, someone in titan towers needs to layoff the crack.
Guest GameCop Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 WWE knows that RVD is their top draw, yet they refuse to give him a monster push. Supposedly, the Elimination Chamber will headline SurvSeries. Who do you think will be the top draw in the match? R-V-D. Moreover, house shows are usually unscathed by politics. The best man will headline the house shows; however, RAW, SD, and PPV's are tainted with politics, which shunt RVD into the abyss, and hold HHH in the highest esteem.

But if this turns into an RVD/Test feud, I have a funny feeling that bps will go nuclear.

Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Well, this goes to show that the WWE knows that RVD is their top draw, and does keep fans in their seats. That's the reasoning behind RVD vs. Test as the main event. Though, I'm kinda surprised seeing Test in the main event also. Maybe the WWE is planning on pushing both RVD and Test.

Okay...necrophilia, pushing Kane, pushing Show, soapy angles...but PUSHING TEST?!??! Now they're really going too far.

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 At this point I don't care what they do with RVD. There is only one thing they can do that would be deemed "the right thing" at this point...and that ain't happening. Everything else is all the same.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Test is not "all the same" test is Test. Nothing good can come from feuding with Test
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 I know that. But nothing good can come from a feud with anyone else either. He and Jericho would have the best matches of anyone he could feud with...but I've seen that a few times already. I'd say Storm...but Storm is a lower midcarder at the moment. I'm almost tempted to say I could watch a Dreamer/RVD feud if they turn Dreamer heel. At least that might interest me. Bottom line is he's been protected on RAW for a long time without being elavated...so he's run out of things to do on that show. The title would freshen him up as he could have matches (with HEAT bah gawd) against the usual RAW suspects...but that isn't coming.

I am *SO* mad I'm not going to WWE (RAW Brand) live tonight.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Would you accept Dreamer/RVD going aginst Jerichristian for the tag belts for a while? I've kind of accepted the same for Benoit/Angle.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 I could watch that. RVD needs something and taking the IC title and throwing it out probably hurt him more than anyone. With my luck though they'd team him with Jeff HArdy

With my luck though they'd team him with Jeff HArdy And through a wacky set of Raw like circumstances, it will be revealed that jeff has a crush on RVD, and through some improbable series of events that you know could never happen, he accidently gave RVD AIDS.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Jeff HArdy ::Alina and Jeff attack bps::
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Which ends up being what finally kills HHH...when he sneaks into RVD's funeral home and... well... you know.
Guest Angle-plex Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 I'm really happy you posted this BPS. A few friends and I were going to buy tickets for tonights show at about 5:30 CT. If I had paid money to see RVD vs Test I would have been pissed.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Okay...necrophilia, pushing Kane, pushing Show, soapy angles...but PUSHING TEST?!??! Now they're really going too far. I'd rather push Test than any of the others.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Not me. At least all of the others draw some kind of a reaction.

Guest Angle-plex Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 So I guess dating Stacy, defeating D-Lo, and getting pushed is all Test's punishment? I'm sure he's "real" sorry he didn't cut his hair now.

I'm sure he's "real" sorry he didn't cut his hair now. Hell, getting a five month IC run was HHH's punishment in 96. Vince's mind isn't like ours.
Rob E Dangerously Posted October 27, 2002 Report Posted October 27, 2002 I thought jobbing to Jake Roberts was HHH's punishment and always having Hennig steal his women. Job Test to Jake Roberts as punishment.

I'd rather push Test than any of the others. ::slaps YOH in the back of the head:: What's the matter with ya, Boy? Test is arguably the best wrestler out of those three, but at least they have main-event credibility. They suck, but they have credibility. Test was basically an overgrown valet in the Un Americans., he's done nothing, and he didn't win a world title in the past like the others. Pushing those two were bad enough, but pushing those two AND Test?! That just shows that a) they'll re-push main event failures before their over midcarders, and b) they'll try to make Test a star before they'll actually push the over mid-carders they have. BTW, is Jericho the generally accepted reason for Raw ratings being down yet--by WWE of course?
Guest bcu1979 Posted October 27, 2002 Report Posted October 27, 2002 BTW, is Jericho the generally accepted reason for Raw ratings being down yet--by WWE of course? I think "it's the economy" is the new punchline. Or maybe it's the terrorists. Fear Factor seem to be playing a part as well. I'm sure Kelsey Grammar will be blamed next. Not to mention all us annoying internet wrestling fans who have the gall to expect to be entertained by a television show. I don't think Jericho has been singled out since Stephanie and Lucy the dog "saved" WrestleMania. Now, it's just all the wresters but Triple H that are blamed. Good thing Triple H gave a peptalk to those green rookies like Angle and Benoit a few weeks back to let them know they need to learn how to work before business could improve. I've seen a noticable difference in their work since then. I don't think RVD/Test maineventing a house show is anything to worry about. RVD was originally supposed to wrestle Rico before Booker T went on the SD tour.
