I haven't done this in a while, but here's some quick notes from this week:

- Early buyrates for No Way Out look to be aroung 780,000, Summerslam and WrestleMania range.

- Scaling back on the plans to run 24 PPV's, to maybe four extra in the first year of the split.

- Terry Taylor was in the gorilla position at the WWA PPV and got a lot of blame.

Adding four extra PPV's is a good number to me. If both WWF's have 12 PPV's each....that's too much.

Terry Taylor gets no love. He played the Red Rooster and still gets blamed. LOL.

The NWo was highly anticipated but the lacklustre show probably jaded alot of fans. And the WWF is raising PPV prices? As Tom Zenk said, that just goes against the laws of supply and demand!

They can't even book one PPV a month right. How are four more gonna improve the product?

What's the gorilla position?

The Gorilla position is just behind the curtain, where you tell the wrestlers when to go out into the arena.

That's right. I remember reading about that in a previous post. Why would Terry Taylor get the blame for the piss poor wrestling? He can't force Kronik to sell, or for Eddy and Jerry's Kid to cut down on the dope, or for Jeremy Borash (who booked that crap) to actually larn how to announce.

The Gorrilla Postition is the table behind the curtain where all the time cues and such are given.  It was named after Gorrilla Monsoon, who used to serve that role.

As far as the PPVs go.  Why not just let WWF A keep 6 and give WWF B 6?  Or each gets 5 and they do Interpromotional matches on Mania and Summerslam.

Vince is going to try to make some extra money off the second WWF.

I'd run five and five with WrestleMania and either Summerslam or InVasion (for the name). Maybe one has interpromotional and one features intrapromotional but on one show.

Its too bad Vince doesnt understand a basic principle:

the best way to make more money with a dwindling fanbase is not to bleed the remaining left.

If anyone follows comics you could see a similar thing. comic sales and popularity dropped drastically, so the publishers kept raising prices. Years later they are starting to see they have to improve the quality first.

That five dollar jump is going to make a lot of people think twice cause is the product really better for the hardcore fand to shell out another 60 or so bucks?

Some Guy had it right keep it at 12, variety , less burnout, more time to build up to the money show.

Man, I remembe when ppv's were $15. When they went to $20 I stopped watching them for years! If I'm going to have to pay for the PPV, I will probably wait for the Tuesday replay so I will have had time to guage net reaction to the product. I would hate to pull the trigger on a PPV that cost 35 friggin dollars only to realize it sucks. There are better things to do with your money.
