Guest Lord of The Curry Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 For any Canadian- The Tragically Hip-Road Apples For anybody else- Radiohead- OK Computer
Guest treble charged Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 For any Canadian- The Tragically Hip-Road Apples For anybody else- Radiohead- OK Computer But, wouldn't you want to expose other people the The Hip's music? I mean, I only own one of their albums (Trouble at the Henhouse), and could probably do well to pick up some more of their stuff, but wouldn't you want people from other countries to listen to their stuff, as well? Probably most people from anywhere have at least heard of Radiohead, and more have listened to all of, or at least some of, OK Computer, yet less people have likely heard stuff off of Road Apples. Anyway, as for my picks, I'd say if you like indie rock, you probably would like either one of treble charger's first two albums (nc17 and self=title), however, my choice of the two would be self=title.
cawthon777 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 'kind of blue', miles davis I'd go with that. Not a huge jazz fan but that's quality work. As far as relaxing mood music goes, I have to go with either Enya 'Shepard Moons' or the soundtrack to Braveheart.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 treble- Nah, the rest of the world doesn't deserve to listen to The Hip. I find in my expirience with non-Canadians who've listened to The Hip they just don't "get it" like we do. The lyrics have this certain *it* factor that only Canadians really understand........
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Muse - Origin of Symertry - a wondrfully innovative album
Guest IPCRivalSchools Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Everyone, and I do indeed mean everyone should get hold of a copy of Songs of the Deaf by Queens of the Stone Age - best album in ages by the most vital band since the Pixies. Ian
Guest Nevermortal Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 "Dusk and Her Embrace" by Cradle of Filth; As if I haven't pimped this masterpiece enough... "Reign in Blood" by Slayer; Yeah, like you need a reason to get this...just get it. "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" by Dimmu Borgir; I cannot praise this album enough.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 I really wish Dimmu was better live. I would like them so much more then.
Guest converge241 Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 unrelated but had to let people know "raining blood" is on the radio in GTA Vice City ive always wanted to kill people to that song
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 hell yes. One of my complaints with GTA3 was the lack of metal. Someone needs to come out with a really gory game and use Devourment, Suffocation, and Lividity as the soundtrack.
Guest converge241 Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 throw Deeds Of Flesh and Dying Fetus in there
Guest Kibagami Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 ...There's a band called "Dying Fetus"? You know, I would make fun of that, but I saw a punk band up in Baltimore last week called Choking Victim. I don't think it'd be fair of me. S.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 1, 2002 Report Posted November 1, 2002 Hell yes there's a band called Dying Fetus, and they're fucking great. Semi-kings of death/grind along with Nasum, IMO, since no one's quite on Cryptopsy's level. They've got a new album coming out pretty soon called "Vengeance Unleashed." Their best album by far is "Destroy the Opposition" That , my friend, is one bad motherfucker. Official Website
