Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 The Seattle Seahawks have signed Dilfer to a four-year contract and have named him their starter.
Guest converge241 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 yeah the guys only like 21-1 in his last 22 starts with Tampa, Baltiomre, and Seattle. Yet he kept getting told he "might" be given a chance to "compete" for the starting position. Maybe somebody slapped Holmgren upside the head or something. Im glad to see the guy set some stability.
Guest Army Eye Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 Seattle should be pretty good this season. The NFC West is going to be TOUGH!
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 I feel sorry for the Cardinals. They are in with the Rams, Niners & Seahawks.
Guest DrTom Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 I'm glad to see Dilfer get rewarded with a long contract (as opposed to getting the shaft like he did in Baltimore), but doesn't it seem that the Seahawks are giving up on Hasselbeck a little soon? What happened to Holmgren believing in him and all that? An unsuccessful half-season doesn't necessarily make him the next Rob Johnson.
Guest Army Eye Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 Well, the trouble is the rest of the team is ready to win NOW

It's simple: Trent Dilfer is lightning in a bottle at this very moment and it would be foolish for Seattle to waste Dilfer now while he's at the top of his game. Hasselbeck is expendable given the fact that Hasselbeck would probably jump ship at the first possible chance available to him if a team like the Ravens or the Packers or the Rams came calling for him to QB for them. With Dilfer you have a guy who's been fucked over by every team he's played with and would be loyal to the Seahawks if they gave him the TLC he deserves.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 It will be interesting to see how Dilfer reacts to being the starting QB going into the season.
Guest imajackoff? Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 It will be interesting to see how Dilfer reacts to being the starting QB going into the season. He'll look unimpressive, he'll be tough as nails and he'll win.
