Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 Nothing has turned up on WWE.com to explain this yet but a freind of mine went to the house show in Sheffield England last night, and due to to loose ring ropes Chavo Guerrero and Val Venis were both hurt, Chavo was well enough to do hi splanned beatdown on Rey later in the evening but apparently Val seemed really hurt, after Jericho and No Mercy it begs the question, what the hell are they doing with the ring set up these days? More news as and when
Guest BA_Baracus Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 Hmmm... ...HHH probably bitched that those darn tight ropes hurt his big manly muscles when he runs into them, so they started tying them as loosely as possible.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 The loose ropes have always been retarded, your just making it more dangerous for anyone doing springboard or aerial moves. Oh wait...
Guest Mad Dog Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 They need to do what everone else does and go for cable's instead of ropes. That way springboard moves look better and people can actually propel themselves off of cables and take some of the wear and tear off their knees.
Guest Repo Man jr Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 On Rebellion I was thinking the ropes looked really lose. When Kidman went for the shooting star press on Cena he almost broke his neck. Seriously, he jumped and the ropes just gave way so he couldnt get a full turn, and he came down head first. It looked real harsh.

Guest evilhomer Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 If you're not a Hoss and rely on athleticism to put on a good match, you're pretty much fucked.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 I haven't really noticed the ring ropes being loose, though, I haven't paid much attention. Still, it could get kinda dangerous, especially if the superstars don't know about it.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 The ropes are always uneccesarily loose. You watch any moves done off of the ropes and marvel at how much the other three sides of ropes move. Keep with normal ropes but please tighten them up, sheesh. I know it'll look lame whenever Big Show does his little "lean on the ropes and pretend I'm bouncing off of them," but I think we can sacrifice that for better quality matches. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 All I know is that if Benoit gets injured due to loose ropes I'll be a definate risk to society
Rob E Dangerously Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 I guess Steiner won't be pulling out his high-flying moves in the WWE
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 Conversation overheard before the show... ---------------------------------------------------------------- Ring Guy #1 *Loosening ropes before the show* Ring Guy #2: "Hey buddy, you might wanna tighten those ropes up a little, they look loose." Ring Guy #1: "They're fine-uhhhh..." Ring Guy #2: "Hunter?! Is that you?" Ring Guy #1: "No...-uhhhh" *spits water, poses* "I'm new here, the name's Bill-uhhh." Ring Guy #2: "Hunter, you gotta quit sabbatoging the other guy's matches. Just cause they're over is no reason to try and hurt them." Ring Guy #1/HHH: "Tell you what, you keep quiet-uhh and I'll see that you go over RVD at a house show-uhh." Ring Guy #2: "Mister, you got a deal." Ring Guy #1/HHH: *spits water, poses* ------------------------------------------------------------ I don't know what all that means really, just something I heard
