Guest Leena Report post Posted October 28, 2002 For a while, all my EA PC games would never start and I'd get the black screen of death. I found a fix by ctrl-alt-del right when I load the game, and delete something called ~ef(with a lot of numbers). This ~ef thing only pops up when I start an EA game, and if I don't shut it down, my computer freezes. I found and deleted the ~ef thing, but it still comes up every time I play. Any help? Do I have some strange virus?

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted October 29, 2002 most likely a virus Nope. Mine does it sometimes. No clue how to fix it, though. I just do the CRTL-ALT-DEL thingy.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted October 29, 2002 It sounds to me like you have the "EA sucks" virus. Thankfully, I've managed to avoid it by becoming a console gamer. Try EA message boards and Google for a solution, though. There HAS to be one somewhere, since things for the PC are pretty easily patched.
Guest Leena Report post Posted October 29, 2002 EA does suck, I learned that after paying $40 for Tiger Woods 2000 which was nowhere near finished, and I demanded those fuckers gave me every cent back. Luckily, I did. The only game I'm still playing is NHL 2001. I got 6 seasons in 1 game, and it's been a bitch to keep playing.

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted October 29, 2002 Sounds like a bad file, a bad reigstry entry, or time for a reformat. If your whole system is acting bad lately, it may be time.. =/

Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 7, 2002 I have FREEDOM FORCE and a significant portion of the graphics show up as white blocks. Damn you EA, Damn you Hey Zsasz, I tried getting through Freedom Force a few times but I always got stuck in the underground world with all the homeless teleporting guys. All of a sudden, some sort of wave thing starts draining my guys' life and eventually kills them... and I have NO idea where it is coming from. Do you know how to get around that?
