Drop The European Title

Opinions are like assholes...everyone has one, but I would really like to see the WWF get rid of the Euro Title.  Does anyone actually care who has the belt.  I am in favor of bringing back the TV Title.  It should be defended like it was originally intended to be on every Televised show and not on ppv.

 

Regal would make an excellent TV Champ once again.

I agree.  If they drop the hardcore title I would be very happy, hardcore wrestling in the ECW and weak WWF sense has passed it's peak, IMO.

 

They would never give the TV title matches 10 min. on tv unfortunately.

I never thought of that some guy.  You are right the 10 min a show would'nt go over.  Good idea drop the hardcore belt also.

i gotta bad feeling about this WWF tour of Asia.  are they gonna create an "Asian title" too, a vanity belt to give to TAKA, Funaki or Tajiri?  and then what, hold a unification match w/ the Euro belt and call it the WWF Eurasian Title?  

 

yes, the hardcore belt has to go as well.  it was just a way for Vince to stick his nose up at ECW and say "well, i can take what you do and cheapen, bastardize and generally water it down to the point where no one will take you seriously."  

 

yes, i third the motion:  bring back the TV title.  ditch the Euro, hardcore, women's and light-heavy and/or cruiserweight(since they will NEVER see the light of day on Vince's watch) titles and resurrect the TV belt.  i even have a neat little angle to reintroduce it:

 

when he is ready to return, have Rhyno come out and attack all the men (and woman) who are currently holding all the belts i mentioned above.  have him beat them and take the belts w/ him after each attack.  when he has all the belts let him cut a promo (i know, not his best attribute, but humor me), wherein he trashes all the belts and claims that the only one worth a damn is his:  where he takes out his old ECW TV title belt, which he never lost!  he proclaims the other belts dead and buried and reactivates the TV belt.  this is where Flair (as 1/2 owner) comes out and tells Rhyno that he doesn't have the power to kill off the other belts, but agrees that the WWF indeed was drowning with too many titles and decides to hold a tournament (just in time for the King of the Ring, btw), wherein the winner becomes the first WWF Television Champion.  Rhyno and the other former belt-holders are all entered into the tourney and the winner of the KOTR also wins the TV belt!

I forgot who won the European Championsip from Christian until I saw Page on Raw.  The sad thing is that I DID see the match where Page won it.  I think they should keep the title, but take it off TV.  Have it change hands at house shows and foreign events to keeps the fans interested.  The Hardcore Title is better than the European Title because the 24-7 rule can produce some interesting TV segments.

I agree. They should drop the Euro, Hardcore, CW & Women's titles. I would like to see the TV Title brought back, but I doubt it.

well, to breakl the monotony i will disagree.  with the roster split seemingly imminent following wrestlemania, they are going to need undercard titles for each promotion.  one can have IC, the other euro.  the womens belt is trash and shouldnt have come back after chyna left, hardcore title im indifferent to, as most normal matches involve chairs, tables, etc, so the HC belt has lost its individuality.  but the euro belt should stay.

Woah! Have you forgotten the history the Europian, Lightheavyweight, Cruserweight, and Womans titles have? You can't just get rid of those belts.

 

Remember back in 2000 when all but the lightheavyweight title(which was on Metal) were on TV? They can do it.

I think the Euro title is good for people who arn't quite ready for the IC belt, as sort of a transitional thang. But Dropping it wouldn't hurt too much. I think the hardcore tite as some life in it, give raven some booking duties and it'll be decent for a while longer. Still ultimately a fad though.

The only thing they should do is combine the Lightweight and Crusierweight titles. (Keep the lightweight belt though, it looks better then the cruiser IMO). With the split coming they are going to need to keep their titles, and knowing the WWF they will probably add a few when the split actually happens. Maybe they could add the TV title back to the existing ones. The Undisputed, Womens,Tag Team, and Lightheavyweight should compete in both divisions IMO. That leaves the European, IC and Hardcore to be exclusive titles. If you add in the TV title that would make 2 exclusive titles for each division.
