I've just recently started hearing about them. What are they?

Tied to the post in each corner there are short ropes or hand straps. You have to be touching the rope or have your hand in the strap when you make a tag in order for it to be legal. When your on the apron you should have your hand on the tag strap at all times. This is to ensure that a man doesn't leave his corner or reaches out across the ropes or whatever to make a tag, he has to be in the corner.

However, the rules involved are never inforced anymore and hardly ever were. Their main purpose is to be used by heels to choke out the faces when the ref is not looking.

Did they JUST bring those back...I hadn't seen tag ropes in forever, then all of a sudden there they are on Smackdown, Rey/Edge vs The Guerreros.

They should continue to go old-school by bringing back the time limit. They should set-up rematches by having time-limit draws instead of screw-job endings.

Time limits?! This is on a show where most matches don't get past the three minute mark, remember?

Time limit draws ONLY work when you are in 1992 to 1994 and you are the TV champion who is a lord. And you can out wrestle everyone you wrestle who doesn't have the last name of Anderson or Steamboat.

Speaking of that, wouldn't Matt Hardy be the perfect 2nd-level champion who always keeps his belt via time limit draws and acts as if he won? Oh yeah, they don't have any other belts anymore, nevermind.
