DVD releases for 10/29

Not a whole lot again this week, which is fine because I'm not a millionaire.

Baretta: Season One

I wonder if Robert Blake's murder trial has anything to do with this box set getting released? This set is priced low, and it should be since it comes with no extras.

Eight Legged Freaks

My favourite film of the summer arrives in a loaded SE which includes commentary and a short film by the director. This film is a fun throwback to the days of Gremlins and Tremors.

The Lost World

A & E's entertaining dinosaur epic gets a DVD release which includes a widescreen transfer and some nice extras.

Malcolm in the Middle: Season One

Unique, original and visually entertaining comedy arrives on DVD fairly early for a new show. The DVD box set includes bonus footage and commentaries.

Mysterious Island

Fun fantasy/sci-fi film about people trapped on an island full of monsters. The DVD features the standard Harryhausen F/X docu and trailers.

'Till next week.

Spiderman on Friday..

I have a weird feeling this isn't the only DVD release of Spider-Man with Columbia having Superbit and all.

But this is a very good DVD release, so i wouldn't be afraid of buying it.

Superbit is just something that's suppose to give you a better picture. It isn't that big of a deal.

I think SuperBit only matters if you have a Progressive Scan DVD Player and HDTV setup.

Superbit is a load of crap unless you have a $5000 top of the line system. Its just another way of gouging customers and making them think they have to double dip.

Now then, I'm looking forward to the Eight Legged Freaks release as well because I missed it when it was in theatres and that was one of the very few movies I actually wanted to see this summer.

As for the others... is there a release date for Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course?

December 17, 2002.

I'm all for Superbit releases. That way the REAL ones a bit cheaper.
