Guest HBK16 Report post Posted October 30, 2002 He has 10 belts around his waste. Can someone name them all? Did he hold them all at once or at separate times and he is just posing with them? Who did he win them from and when? Also if he did hold them all at the same time when was it? Thanks.
Guest Reverb Report post Posted October 30, 2002 If I'm not mistaking, Ultimo Drago won the J-Crown which consisted of the following belts: - I.W.G.P. Junior Heavyweight Championship, - N.W.A. World Junior Heavyweight Championship, - International Junior Heavyweight Championship, - British Commonwealth Junior Heavyweight Championship, - W.W.F. World Light Heavyweight Championship, - U.W.A. World Junior Light Heavyweight Championship, - W.W.A. World Junior Light Heavyweight Championship, - N.W.A. World Welterweight Championship. Later, he added the W.C.W. Cruiserweight title to the 8 others when he faced Dean Malenko in a WCW CW title vs. J-Crown match.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted October 30, 2002 Damn thats one hell of a win. What was the date of that and where can I find it?
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 30, 2002 He won the belts in the finals of the J-Crown tourney, held on a date which I cannot find. Basically, it was a one-night, 8-man, single elimination tournament. Every wrestler in the tournament held a junior title of some sort, and when you won a match, you won that guy's belt and moved on. Go here to read more about it: http://rollinggermans.8m.com/jcrownreview.htm I've only ever seen the final match, on my PC. I must say, it looked damn impressive for both guys to come out with 4 women holding their belts.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted October 30, 2002 It wasn't a one-night tournament. It was held during the annual G-1 Climax, from August 2-5, 1996.
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 30, 2002 It wasn't? Hmm...Someone's been lying to me. Though it does explain a lot... That's what I get for trying to answer questions in the puro folder.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted October 30, 2002 If you're looking for the date Ultimo won the J-Crown, it wasn't in the finals of that tourney. If you remember, Sasuke won, not Ultimo. Ultimo won them at a later date from Sasuke and then went on to defeat Malenko for the WCW Cruiserweight belt to set the record. The tourniment that initially formed the J-Crown is highly recommended, by the way. Probably Ultimo's best match ever against Ohtani in the semi's there. Guest wolverine Report post Posted October 30, 2002 Ultimo Dragon beat Great Sasuke for the J-Crown at WAR Crush Night (10/11/96). I believe his first defense was against Rey Misterio Jr. on 11/24/96 at WCW World War 3 '96, which was a hell of a match.
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted October 30, 2002 Annnnnnnnd, the 10th belt in the set was the NWA World Middleweight Title, which he held from '93 until his injury. And I no longer have to say it was career-ending! That's so fucking boss. Also, it wasn't the International Jr. Heavy title (which belonged to FMW). It was the WAR Jr. Heavy Title - the belt UD brought in in the first place.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted October 30, 2002 Thanks for all the help. I have a J Crown tape in my collection somewhere I just never had the time to check it out. Perhaps I will this weekend.
