some opinions needed on two tapes

Yes, I know this may irritate some of the more established people that visit this board but I wanted an opinion on which looks better. I'm fairly new to Puro, so that's why I'm asking for a little help out

Neither tape is much of a 'best of'. However, I've heard good things about Hidaka/Hoshikawa, so that's probably where I'd go (although I'd also go there because Tanaka is Kanemoto with more flipping).

No, he's anything but bland. He's just not one to grasp the nuances of a great match.

I'm not a Tanaka fan by any means, due to piss poor limb selling while he is on offence and a lack of realistic offence (although he is world class at selling the pain whilst in submission holds). His comp does look reasonably fun, but i'd also go with Togo / Hidaka, especially as I've heard good things about Hidaka vs. Tiger Mask (both times), and Togo is still fairly cool.

However, if you really want a great light heavyweight tape featuring Togo, pick up MPro - Heartbreak 96 yesterday, it's bad. In the good way.

I picked up Heartbreak '96 last year and boy did that camera work suck. A relatively fun tape though.

is that the heartbreak in lucha land? I picked that up a while ago, one I treasure. That's why the Togo tage caught my eye, I was curious about Hidaka as well, heard he was up and coming so that really looked interesting.

Hidaka's a fun guy. He's no miracle worker or anything, but I'd say he's closer to '96 Ohtani than he is to, say, '02 CIMA. Maybe '94/'95 Ohtani is a better analogy. A small dude, too, but he's fun to watch and follows through better than Tanaka on specific elements of his matches.

right on, sounds fun. If you know anything better with him, would you let me know? The tape sounds fun from all accounts, nothing serious but fun. Curious in your comparison of Ohtani and CIMA. Ohtani 96, I thought was what was considered the height of his developement and match quality. CIMA 02, was a dissapointing year for him because he didn't do any type of developement. Is that what you're getting at, or something else?

Something along those lines...but mainly that Hidaka is willing to perform and draw in the audience a la Ohtani back in the day, whereas CIMA is much more robotic and unapproachable with just about everything he does.
