The only restrictions are that the song could not have been released prior to the film (like having some classic Sinatra song in a movie that came out 5 years ago, etc). I'll start it off with the first thing that comes to mind ... Bobby Brown "Take Control" from Ghostbusters 2 "Too hot to handle, too cold to hold They called the Ghostbusters and they're in control Had them throwing a party for a bunch of children While all the while slime was under the building ... Grabbed their proton packs and they split Found out about Vigo, the master of evil Try to battle my boys, that ain't legal" Lame? Yes. But I was in 3rd grade.

There almost isn't such a thing, perhaps with the exeption of Prince's rockin' tunes from the original Batman. But were "Partyman" and "Batdance" ever in the actual movie, or just over the credits? Hereby hijacking the topic in the name of logic, I hence put forth nearly anything done in Rushmore, but especially the montage to "Oh Yoko," the finale to the Faces' "Ooh La La," and Bill Murray's poolside shenanigans to the Kinks' "Nothing's Going To Stop Me Worrying About That Girl." Oh, and of course, the "war" medley to "A Quick One While She's Away."
Guest godthedog Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 aimee mann, 'save me'. that's the first thing that comes to mind. peter gabriel's music for 'the last temptation of christ'. but the all-time winner is probably the music miles davis did for 'elevator to the gallows'. he recorded the whole thing from about 10 pm to 5 am on one night off in france, when louis malle basically just walked up to him & asked him to lay down some tracks for the movie. so he & his band basically watched certain scenes and improvised on whatever came to his head while the scene was running. and the music is absolutely awesome. the first 2 minutes of the movie i heard the trumpet come in and was like "holy shit, who did this awesome soundtrack?" then the opening titles ran & miles davis's name came up & i was like "oh, of course." But were "Partyman" and "Batdance" ever in the actual movie, or just over the credits? 'batdance' was never in the movie, it was basically a track prince already had lying around & put some batman-related stuff into for release. you can hear 'partyman' playing on the boombox when the joker's redecorating the museum.

Any song from "O Brother, Where art Thou?"

"War," "Gonna Fly Now," "Eye of the Tiger," "Burning Heart," "Going the Distance," "Fanfare for Rocky." "No Easy Way Out," and "Hearts on Fire" are wonderful to hear all the time. The soundtracks *makes* the movies.

Why there was a hippie in the basement of a club sporting a death band is beyond me. Chewbacca in Clerks always kills me too. I have a morbid fascination with that song.

I can't stand his sappy, saccharine scores. Anyway, I like a lot of the stuff already mentioned--Rushmore, Requiem, Last Temptation of Christ (or, as the album version is known as, Passion)--but I'll add David Byrne's stuff for The Last Emperor. Hans Zimmer has done some fine work, particularly with Terrence Malick.

It was my wedding/1st dance song. Ella Fitzgerald i believe Thankfully i didnt get the same results as Ace and Ginger........yet!

Says so in the end-credits, and the breakdown kinda gives it away. "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr. is most definitely my favorite, as well as the Terminator-theme (from Terminator 2, not the original pseudo-synth pop one).
