Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted October 31, 2002 According to the Torch, the Jarretts sold a majority to Panda Energy based out of Dallas. Also, in the same article, it states that Russo was not at last night's taping and may be out of the company! As far as I see it, getting rid of Russo is a good thing! As for the power change, if this company can bring wrestling back to Dallas (a hotbed for years) then that is a plus also. Maybe there is an eventual light at the end of the tunnel. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted October 31, 2002 I know a lot of are going to be acting like you just lost your virginlty by hearing the news Russo may be gone, it he is...it'll probably be a good thing. I like the guy and felt he could of helped, but TNA will likely becoming a "hit" based on wrestling, not "Crash TV". I hope the new owners aren't like Turner/AOL Time Warner where they put people that know nothing about wrestling in charge. At least the Jarretts will run the wrestling end of the company. And bringing wrestling to TX is always fine by me.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted October 31, 2002 So, is it going to be exclusive to Texas now like it was exclusive to Tennessee or will they try and go semi-national?
Guest BifEverchad Report post Posted October 31, 2002 They still better have the PPVs (if they have PPVs still) available in Canada!

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted October 31, 2002 The same torch that reports this though also says: The ongoing trouble backstage between Vince Russo and Jerry Jarrett continues. Interestingly, it seems as if Jeff Jarrett has been siding more with Russo, whom he feels can get the best out of a lot of TNA talent. Reports indicate that the new possible investors would side with Jerry Jarrett in a struggle, although Russo has not been quiet in making his resume known to anyone and everyone with a possible financial interest in the company. I think the IWC doesn't know their elbow from their asshole here. We're going to be stuck with either Russo or Jarett. I hope it's Jarrett.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 31, 2002 The Pandas are teaming up. Double team on the Weee!
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted October 31, 2002 My only complaint is that I feel Russo could have helped establish characters for many of the younger guys. Sure, his crap like Bruce, etc. should be taken out to pasture, but I give him credit for trying to make everyone mean something.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Hopefully these Panda guys don't have too much power. We've seen over the years what happens to Wrestling Companys when the "Power to Be's" don't know a thing about Wrestling.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Well...more money isn't a bad thing. If they bring TNA to both Texas and Tennessee and do some shows in each...I think that's a good thing too. I have no comment on Russo...as much as I hate some of the things he did, the first thing he did was put the mic and the ball into the Truth's hands... so the guy does now how to get talent over. Guest RedJed Report post Posted October 31, 2002 If this means the end of Russo, this might mean the end of the Harris Boys, Bruce, and a few others really negatives the company are showcasing right now. At first I thought Russo in TNA would be good, but he really hasn't given anything at all that can be considered a good thing, IMO. Sure, he gave Truth the mic but he's really not going anywhere right now. The character development isn't constant with him. Its very erratic. TV is definately needed at this point, not just the ppvs. In fact once a solid TV base if formed, I would just can the weekly shows and go once a month instead with a three hour show priced at 20-25 dollars. This weekly ppv stuff isn't creating anything for supercards or especially important reasons to check it out week after week even though I still am. I actually think the company would lose less revenue overall if they spent money on space for a spot every week on TV than not going anywhere with increased viewership at this point. Might make them try harder too when more people are able to see them and in turn are more critical on a larger level of what it good and what isn't. With new investors this might be possible to happen.

Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Ding Dong the witch is dead! woohoo, seeya Russo, hopefuly he stays out of wrestling for good this time...As for the new ownership, as long as the Jarrett's continue to produce and write the shows with Panda backing them financially it should be a good thing. Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted November 1, 2002 The Jarrett's know wrestling, they've been doing it for how long now? its more money, more area, this cant be a bad thing, and if they dump Russo, all the better. Just alternate between weeks, TX one week TN the next, or get more guys. Bring in some Japanese guys baby, hell start talking with CZW, just to get new talent and find someone who the crowd connects with.
