Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 31, 2002 The following is from 1wrestling... "Luis Martinez sent the following. ... Jesse Ventura was on KFAN radio today talking to "The Common Man" Dan Cole, and he asked the Governor what is in the future for him. Jesse said that "Vince has never had a WWF Champion that has been a former Governor". He also said he has been "hitting the gym a lot recently," and that "Vince McMahon has the power to make that happen." He also kept calling it the WWF. I thought it was an interesting tidbit. Note From Buck: This is isn't the first time that Ventura has brought up the idea of him returning to the ring. With his political career ending (at least, Ventura claims it is), Jesse has made mention of getting back in the ring more and more often. Obviously, there is a price that would get him back in the ring, the question is would Vince McMahon want to pay it, and perhaps more importantly, is it worth paying?" ...hmmm, this is rather interesting if you ask me. Just how old is Ventura now anyhow? Yet another possibility for Vince Macky McMahon, in his never ending series of desperate attempts for ratings, woooooooooooooooooooo. Sincerely, ...Downhome... Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Please kick Lawler out of the commentator seat, Jesse. PLEASE. However, I'm not nuts at the thought of Ventura wrestling. I mean, eew.
Guest Chuck Woolery Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Here's the thing, though: If you book Jesse as a one night only thing on a supercard, carried on UPN or TNN or some other channel... People WILL watch for Jesse Ventura. He has mainstream appeal, just because he's Governor of Minnesota. People know he was a wrestler, and I honestly believe they would tune in to see him wrestle. If you made this a supercard, both shows on it, on free TV, you'd definitely hook in some new viewers. - Mike

Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 31, 2002 I supose it could prove usefull for a one night "bang" for the ratings, but it would not in any way improve things or make them better in the long term. I agree, bring on Jesse and kick Jerry Lawler back to his perverted hell from which his character hails from. (Speaking of Hail, am I the only guy that remembers that wrestler from WCW Saturday Night? :D )
Guest jester Report post Posted October 31, 2002 I'd love to see Ventura doing proper heeel commentary. Lawler can be a coatrack in Stephanie's office.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Just don't let him become even a part time in ring performer. I don't think many want that, at all.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 31, 2002 I wouldn't having Jessie be a referree like he was at summslam. And him kicking Vince's ass would be cool
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted October 31, 2002 was Ventura even any good in his prime? And yes, I do remember Hail, he was Jimmy Hart's pet project for a few weeks in WCW- and I think he became "Drezden" in Hart's XWF.

No. Jesse was always about spectacle and never workrate, but in his defense he has always understood that.

Jesus, thank God. I thought I was the only one on Earth that had any memory of that at all.
Guest Luke Michael Report post Posted October 31, 2002 I'd like to see Jesse Ventura beat the crap out of Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania. Of course that won't happen since Hulk would quit before losing to Ventura. That would make a interesting Wrestlemania match though!
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Does Ventura even follow the WWE?
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Ventura should be brought back for pure commentary on Raw, an occasional reffing apperance, promotional apperances, and maybe one or two wrestling matches.

Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Ventura returning as a wrestler I can't really see. Though, I wouldn't mind if he returned as a commentator, and took Lawler's place. Hell, even him as a manager would be alright. Anything but a wrestler. Well, maybe a one time match against Vince would be alright, but that's it.
Guest papacita Report post Posted November 1, 2002 I don't like the idea of Ventura wrestling, more out of fear for his health than anything else. He'd be better off on commentary.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Jesse's comentary was the only thing he ever excelled at. His abilities as a wrestler are better off forgotton. I can see Vince booking himself vs. Jesse in a match, though. They've always teased it over the years.
