You know watching SmackDown! last night led me to the rather startling conclusion that the booking for that show is astronomically better than RAW's. I mean, shock of shocks right? I think most people knew that to begin with, at least I hope they did. But I was wondering before last night if the SD! domination was just because the talent on SD! was just so awesome that they made everything the writing staff put out look good. But now, there is no doubt about it. Because the writing staff took one big slab of shit like the Big Show and are making some pretty nice shitaide.

 

Here's a wrestler with exactly two positives... he's bigger than everyone else and he's as strong as a bull. That's it. Show litterly has nothing else he can bring to the table. So SD! uses what little he has to try and make him a legitimate threat while at the same time covering up some of his problems.

 

1) They have Paul E. go over Big Show's strengths in that backstage segment with Brock. Making it appear to be a bad matchup for Brock due to Lesner's style and Show's size. This plants that little seed of doubt in the fans minds, since they have to ask... "Hey, what is Brock going to do to Show?"

 

2) They put Show against Rikishi. Displays that Show isn't going to have a problem moving Brock around if he can powerslam Rikishi like he weighs 100 pounds. Also shows that Rikishi (another strong, big guy) couldn't move Show around like he could to say... Matt Hardy.

 

3) They put Show in clothes. Covers up Show's rather... icky body and gets him out of skin tight outfits. Another smart yet simple move.

 

So, in my oppinion, SD! has taken Show... a guy with no upside and no real talent and made him at least a respectable opponent for Lesner. I still don't want to watch it, but its a whole lot better situationthan it could have been, or would have been on RAW.

I'm also thinking that with Lesnar going face, they are leaning towards moving Paul Heyman to manage Show so that Heyman can stay heel and do the talking for Show, who always sounds like he has a biscuit stuck in his mouth.

I see Heyman turning on Lesnar also, (ala, Bearer/Taker/Mandkind) to give Big Show the "advantage."

 

But, PLEASE, if there is a God! Have this happen in the next few weeks or the SD before the PPV. Do NOT, have Heyman turn on Lesnar and cost him the Title @ Survivor Series.

I wouldn't put anything past Vinnie Mac these days. Just count your blessings that it's Big Show getting the title shot and not Mark Henry, the other big-contract financial disaster.

You know Goodear, I never thought of it that way. You raise a lot of good points there.

 

I still think they should have given Show a few more wins before this push to to get that jobber scent off him, but you're right. If they're going to push Show like this, this is probably the best possible way.

But his legs were still rubbing together in his street clothes. I saw some of Smackdown last night and the only thing that made me remotely interested in Survivor Series was the thought of Lesnar trying to F5 the Big Show. If he can get Big Show's fat ass in the air for that, I'll be thoroughly impressed.

There is no way Show will beat Brock. They are just using Show because he is the biggest guy in the WWE, and when Brock F-5's him and maybe hits the Shooting Brock Press, fans will be like "WOW. Can ANYONE stop him?"

To tell you the truth though, with a very notable exception, I think anyone on Smackdown could look better than they would on Raw.

Big Show is nothing but a gigantic pile of turd, Vince invested so much money on this untalented wrestlecrap hall of shame member he should just give up on him like he did with the WBF and XFL. The ratings for Smackdown are down due to the fact that nobody wants to see this feud and Brock is still too green to carry that show by himself, just let him get pinned by Angle already, he is one of the reasons people watch the show.

And Smackdown is a good show b/c right now RAW is so bad that even spongebob squarepants is beating them in the ratings, so it's not really fair to compare SD! with RAW.

Ok, humongous, LETS GO!

 

1) Big Show does suck. But people know who he is, so Vince isn't going to fire him.

 

2) Brock is green? That may be kinda of true, but I'll admit it, I am a Brock mark. So far, his title reign has been better then half the Undisputed Champions in the past (yeah, I know who has been champ, so no need to bring it up)

 

3) I watch Smackdown for Benoit and Steph's cleavage.

 

4) Smackdown is better because it has better talent and better writers. Bottom line, Heyman > Gerwitz.

 

5) Sponge Bob fucking rules.
