Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Anyone have this DVD yet, me I skipped class (AGAIN once on Tuesday for GTAVC) to get it and have watched it like twice already. Great Movie... all the extras are cool too. Stop reading this and BUY IT!
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted November 1, 2002 I got mine last night at Midnight Madness at WalMart. Got a free poster with it too.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Did you get the Widescreen or Full Screen? I like the movie but it doesn't sound like there are many extras.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Can someone take the time to explain to me in what way this movie wasn't terrible?
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted November 1, 2002 AP:I've got the Full Screen version, but to be honest I haven't checked out the extras. I was dead and had to get up at 8am for class. bps:I'd attempt to explain, but as a noted comic buff I'd come off as biased. I'll just say "To each his own" and leave it at that. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Did you get the Widescreen or Full Screen? I like the movie but it doesn't sound like there are many extras. It's a two disc DVD and there's quite a few extras. Extras Info I haven't got myself a copy yet. I'm ordering the Limited Edition Box Set thingy off Amazon because it's $3 cheaper than i can get it locally.
Guest Smark Hammill Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Can someone take the time to explain to me in what way this movie wasn't terrible? It's YOUR argument that you thought it was terrible, so why do you explain that to the rest of us.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Can someone take the time to explain to me in what way this movie wasn't terrible? Not really. If you didn't like it, you didn't like it, and nothing's gonna alter your opinion, so why bother?
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Did you get the Widescreen or Full Screen? I like the movie but it doesn't sound like there are many extras. Doesn't sound like many extras?? When I picked the box up to buy today I nearly passed out when I saw the extras list running down the entire back cover. I ain't got time to watch all that bullshit. The extras are crazy fly. Please tell me you got the fullscreen version by mistake. Or that you suffer from mild retardation! Why else would buy the horrible fullscreen version? Eh, I went through the second disc at work today, and the extras seem pretty thin when you actually watch them. Maybe True Romance has spoiled me. Besides, special features are secondary. I just want a good widescreen tranfer with DD 5.1.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2002 As a former comic book nut still in recovery, the extras are very sweet. You get a year-by-year look at the comic (Amazing Spider-Man) from the first issue through to the 9/11 special edition (which looks pretty cool). Not every issue is included per year but the major happenings are featured and it's a great look back for someone like me who had the Marvel Universe memorized when I was 10. There are plenty of documentaries with interviews from various comic book artists, including Kevin Smith, Todd McFarlane, and Stan Lee, HBO and E! specials promoting the film, a look at the loves of Peter Parker (I finally remember that Gwen Stacy was the one that died), music videos, and a ton of stuff I haven't even gotten to yet. Not bad for $15 at Wal-Mart. Oh yeah, the film itself was great too.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Well, I just bought the WS edition, and can I say what a bait and switch that "Buy 1, Get 1 free" offer is since you can't use Spider-Man to get another of the list of movies? That being said, I'll be getting Ghostbusters and Bad Boys using this...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Oh you can't use Spider-Man with that offer?
Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted November 3, 2002 "I'd attempt to explain, but as a noted comic buff I'd come off as biased. I'll just say "To each his own" and leave it at that." - Zack Malibu Noted? I'm not trying to bust your balls here Zack but it would be nice if you would post a bit more in the comic book folder if you possess the knowledge you do about comic books. Just trying to get a new face in the folder is all.
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted November 3, 2002 That being said, I'll be getting Ghostbusters and Bad Boys using this... See I have Ghostbusters already, so I'm using it to get Legends of the Fall/On the Waterfront And it surprises me that for a film that had heavy use of CGI, there's no FX breakdown or demonstration reels on the disc. Just one "screen test" of CGI Spidey. Surprising for a blockbuster action film to not have a lot of features on the stunts/effects. Of course I usually don't watch those, so no harm for me. Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted November 3, 2002 And it surprises me that for a film that had heavy use of CGI, there's no FX breakdown or demonstration reels on the disc. Probably because most of the CGI F/X in the movie are really bad, and they didn't want to make it any more obvious by having a breakdown of them.

Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted November 3, 2002 Hell, for $14.96 at Walmart, this was a no brainer. Wal Mart looks to be selling certain new release DVD's (Im guessing Columbia Pictures Releases although it doesnt explain a few that I've seen) for $14.96 for a couple days before raising the price to $18.96 +. I got Mr. Deeds last week for 14.96 at Wal Mart as well , and I could have gotten Monsters Inc for $14.96 when it came out but I didn't have the money. Im hoping that they keep this up on new releases at least for a while longer.. As far as that Buy one Get one Free deal, the same thing was in the Mr. Deeds DVD, so I've got two of the things, and I was pissed that the DVD you buy that comes with it doesnt count, but I'll still try to take advantage of it and Get Black Hawk Down/Resident Evil. Actually, if you're really tight, take a Wal-Mart or K-Mart ad with the DVD price to Best Buy, and they'll match the price and (I think) refund you the difference. I may be thinking Future Shop though. Speaking of Best Buy the Bad Boys SE DVD was $12, so I guess I'm getting my free DVD after all...

I hated how Spider-Man moved in the movie. It was like Todd Mcfarlane's drawings all over again.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted November 3, 2002 I got it Friday at Best Buy for $15. I watched the movie but haven't had a chance to go through the features yet. I'll probably watch them tonight or tommorrow, being the nice guy that I am I let my sister borrow the thing and as far as I know she hasn't returned it yet. I may be thinking Future Shop though. You must be thinking of that other store. Best Buy does price matching, but doesn't refund the difference. I take advantage of the price matching because I'd rather give my money to them instead of Circuit City, kmart, walmart and any of the other stores.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted November 4, 2002 No Best Buy here though. We have a circuit city though, but chances are I'd have to spend a half an hour to get them to match it. Not really worth it to me, and besides, Wal Mart doesn't put the Sale Price in their print ads, just SPECIAL LOW PRICE..

When you do the cross-border thing like I do, you start getting confused after awhile. Adding to the confusion is the fact that Best Buy bought out Future Shop, yet is still opening Best Buys in Canada.
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted November 4, 2002 My mom tried to give me a surprise and buy me the Spidey DVD but what she got instead was the animated series DVD "Return of the Green Goblin." I laughed my ass off, but I can't really blame her. Oh well, I ordered it from amazon.com anyway (the widescreen edition, of course), so it'll be coming my way soon. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Why would you price match Walmart anyway? It's ALREADY 15 dollars at Best Buy. Trying to save that 3 cents or whatever it was? haha
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Why would you price match Walmart anyway? It's ALREADY 15 dollars at Best Buy. Trying to save that 3 cents or whatever it was? haha Well i didn't buy it at either place. Besides i bought the box set thing. I was just saying what i do if a store has a cheaper price on a DVD than Best Buy.
Guest Smark Hammill Report post Posted November 4, 2002 This DVD is pretty loaded. Don't know when (or if) I'll ever get to all the special features. I love DVDs.
