Anyone remember this kids movie? I got up for school today and it was on HBO Family. Too bad I had to leave, or I would've stayed and watched it. I'm a huge mark for Squints Palledorous & Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez, and a great Denis Leary role!

I wouldn't call Leary's role... great since he didn't do anything that we've come to know and love.

 

But back to the subject, my room mates and I actually watched it the other night. Great kids movie that still entertains years later.

I remember watching that multiple times on PPV over the summer back when I had a black box. I always thought that a clean, Babe Ruth-autographed ball that Leary's character had signed himself, was better than the used, team-autographed ball that could have been gotten from anywhere. Why did James Earl Jones trade trade that kid for it anyway?

Cause its a freaking kids movie.

 

I liked the bit at the end where the narrator would talk of what happened to each kid, and when it came to the tall one, he said something like 'He was never seen again.!' Oh, the hilarity.

Movie was great, especially the pool scene where he kisses the lifegurad and this magic moment plays right on cue. Good stuff.

Sandlot is a kick ass movie.

I loooove The Sandlot. I've already watched my DVD of it about 4 times. The chase at the end with the god is great. Excellent music as well.

Have to disagree the best use of "Tequila" was in Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

The best scene in the whole movie, to me, is when they set up and play the Little League team.

 

"You bob for apples from the toilet ... and you like it!"

 

"Be there, buffalo BUTT breath."

"Count on it, pee-drinking CRAPFACE!"

 

"Is that your sister out in left field? Naked ... she's naked! Think she'll go out with me?"

The repeating of "FOR-EV-ER" became a good running joke at my school when the movie came out and for a good period after.

 

Damn that movie rules (makes note to get it somehow). I mean, it's one of those movies where when you see a kid from it in something else (like the annoying chunky kid in the Sobe commercials), you just say "Hey! It's that kid from The Sandlot!!" If that doesn't qualify as a memorable movie (nine years after the fact no less), I don't know what does.

Close second has to be the be the opening skateboard scene in the first TMNT movie.
