Guest Paranoid Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Now that WWE has two separate brands, rosters, and championship belts, I was curious what the upcoming Royal Rumble stipulations are going to be. Is there going to be a separate Raw and Smackdown royal rumble to see who gets a title shot for their brand's championship belt? Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other way they could determine who gets a title shot for each show's championship belt at Wrestlemania.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 1, 2002 maybe they will do two seperate 15 person ones? or the split could be abandoned and the main would be another unification match.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted November 1, 2002 your thinking too far ahead, start worrying about it 2 weeks before it starts

Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted November 1, 2002 I'm thinking that maybe they'll just have 30 men in the ring, 15 from RAW and 15 from Smackdown, and whoever wins, gets a shot at their heavyweight title. That's what I think will happen.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Hmm, Jeff's got a good idea for once, I like it. It'd also be a good way to forward the "competition" between the brands. There are a lot of kinks to work out of the idea though. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest DARRYLXWF Report post Posted November 2, 2002 I wouldn't scratch out the fact that the Royal Rumble will result in ANOTHER unification of the titles.

Guest Brian Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Hell no! Maybe a meeting of the champions at Mania (even though I doubt it).
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 2, 2002 They'll fight for an hour someone we that we want to be pushed will win, and then be led like a lamb to the slaughter to one of the Golden Boy champions. God, I'm not even enjoying this shit any more.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Oddly, I've never thought Anglesault enjoyed any of this, ever. Just don't unify the bloody titles again. They've got the split going pretty well right now, don't fuck it up. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Oddly, I've never thought Anglesault enjoyed any of this, ever. I liked August 2001. And November 1999-February 2001.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted November 2, 2002 If they want to unify the belts: Wrestler A wins Rumble, fights champ of his brand at No Way Out, winner gets the unification match at WrestleMania. If not, use Jeff's idea.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2002 how about having a Rumble where the winner wins and doesn't go to WM to face the champ?
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2002 how about having a Rumble where the winner wins and doesn't go to WM to face the champ? Personally, I would like to see a Royal Rumble where the Champions are involved, and the winner becomes the unified champion. The title on the line in the Rumble match made the 92 Rumble work IMO. Guest Paranoid Report post Posted November 2, 2002 how about having a Rumble where the winner wins and doesn't go to WM to face the champ? Considering that the WWE has ruined all the other legacies of PPV's then that might be an option.

Considering that the WWE has ruined all the other legacies of PPV's then that might be an option. Actually, up until 1993, the winner of the Rumble was never the set number one contender for the WWF Title at Wrestlemania. Let's take a look: 88: Duggan wins. Title Tourney is the main 89: Big John Studd Wins. Hogan vs. Savage is the main. 90: Hogan wins, as the champion. Hogan vs. Warrior is the main. 91: Hogan wins...but was never said to be the set contender. 92: Flair wins, wins the WWF Title with it.

Yeah...that happened in...1998 I believe, when the whole PPV was pretty much a re-vamped WrestleMania
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted November 2, 2002 If the WWE is planning to unify the titles at Wrestlemania 19, then I would do this: Have either the World Title or the WWE Title on the line in the Royal Rumble match itself, perferably the WWE Title. Depending on what brand would take place in the match, would depend on what title was on the line. Then, have whoever wins the Royal Rumble, go on and face the champion from the other show at Wrestlemania 19, with the winner unifying the belts. Yeah, I like that idea. Though, since the split is going so well, I don't think they should unify the belts at all.

Guest BaldFish Report post Posted November 2, 2002 The best thing about the brand extension is the polarization. At least there is now one great show and one shitty show, rather than two mediocre shows.

Neither or outstanding, they both have high points, with the exception of the necro angle.

Smackdown is the greatest wrestling show in a long... long... long time. Sure, it's not perfect, but Smackdown is at it's peak right now

Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 2, 2002 They have three choices as far as I can see, Option A. 15 Raw and 15 Smackdown wrestlers. Winner faces their champion. Option B. 40 MEN, 20 from each, and have a unification (champions get last two spots). Option C. End the split. go to normal format.

Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted November 3, 2002 I kinda wish the WWE would really go overboard and have a 60-Man Royal Rumble w/ 1 minute intervals. I'm sure Vinnie can round up some old-timers and indy stars to fill out the sixty.
