Guest MrRant Report post Posted November 2, 2002 BOGOTA, Colombia (Reuters) - Colombian doctors removed a 26-pound cancerous tumor from a 15-year-old girl after her parents took her to the hospital believing she was pregnant, medical officials said. The girl was suffering from abdominal pains, respiratory problems and vomiting when her parents, a poor peasant and a housewife from northern Cesar Province, took her to see a doctor. After a three-hour surgery Thursday, doctors removed the tumor and the girl's right ovary. "I have removed many tumors but I was surprised by the dimensions of this one," said Rafael Zabaleta, an oncologist at Rosario Pumarejo Hospital in the city of Valledupar, who performed the surgery. Doctors said the girl has a life expectancy of between 12 to 36 more months because the cancer seems to have spread to other parts of her body. 26 lbs?!?! Jesus. Too bad the cancer spread though. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 2, 2002 That ain't shit. IIRC, the world's record for the largest tumor ever was a three hundered and three (yes, that's 303) pound ovarian cyst. It was in a guiness book, the 95 copy, I think. There might've been a bigger one since, I'm not sure. That's a big ass ball of cancer, though.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Aww..this isn't the story where the woman thougt she had a tumor for 46 years and she finally had it removed and it turned out to be a 46 year old fetus (baby that never fully developed)
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Que? I don't think that's possible. No, this was a big ol' tumor.

Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted November 2, 2002 I remember the 300 pound cancer when they had Guinness TV. That was pretty f'd up. Calcified fetus fossils aren't anything to scoff at either. Really sad to hear that she won't even make it to her 18th because of the cancer spreading.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted November 2, 2002 I remember seeing the 300 pound tumor on the Guinness World Records TV show. It had hair and teeth growing inside it.

Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted November 3, 2002 Ewww... that's weird. Both are weird. Not freaky weird, just kinda, I dunno. The fossil doesn't really look like anything though since its so early in development.
