Guest MrRant Report post Posted November 2, 2002 I noticed when I went to CNN.com they now have "premium content" which is like their video streams etc. and so to view any of them its 4.95 per month or 39.95 a year. I don't think its a very good idea since MSNBC and Fox News don't charge. Your thoughts?
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 2, 2002 I always go to msnbc.com anyway, so this doesn't affect me much. Cnn.com has always struck me as a fairly sterile-looking site compared to msnbc.com anyway. Kotzenjunge Can't Think of a Witty Tagline This Time

Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 2, 2002 I didn't know MSNBC was the liberal channel. Kotzenjunge Seriously Had No Idea Hello, Donahue is on MSNBC. Fox swept the Prime Time Cable News Ratings last month.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Well yeah, but so was Pat Buchanan for a time. Why the hell would I watch or CARE about Donahue? In all honesty, I've watched MSNBC since, well, since they started in 1996. I was curious about the CNN competitor, and when I got the internet, it made sense in my mind to go to the site that was worked by Microsoft and stuff. Kotzenjunge Doesn't Watch Any of the Talk Shows, Just Information, Please.

Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted November 2, 2002 My opinion of CNN charging is.. eh. I won't pay for it, but if some people will and it helps business, then do it...
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 3, 2002 Fox News = Conservative I really think that's a misconception about Fox. They tend to be more to the right, but they do the most fair and balanced coverage. It's just suprising that cable news isn't slanted so much.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted November 3, 2002 ABC is charging too. Bandwith isn't free, so I'm not suprised.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted November 3, 2002 Fox News is definitely conservative. They like to call themselves "fair and balanced," while they're nothing of the sort. Their slant just happens to fall in a different direction. While I like Fox News, I wish they'd stop pretending to be something they aren't. In the days when Ted Turner ran everything, CNN was indeed very liberal. They've changed in recent years, though, and are probably the most moderate of any news channel out there. Softball-lobbing liberals like Larry King are balanced nicely by people like Wolf Blitzer (which is a hella cool name, I must say). MSNBC has taken over CNN's role as the liberal news outlet. But yeah they're slanted, in a good way. And Wolf Blitzer IS a cool name. Jon Stewart pointed that out

Fox News should just come out and admit they lean to the right. The left doesn't buy fair and balance, so dump Colmes and that lady with the smokers voice.
