Guest Shaved Bear Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 whats your favorite CD (or double CD) that you own my personal favorite is Ride The Lightning because every single song on the album is at least exceptionally good, with Creeping Death and Fade to Black standing out as being phenomional
Guest Flyboy Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 I would say my personal mix of Guns N' Roses songs (my favorite band), my Michael Jackson CDs, Marshall Mathers LP, and... Jagged Little Pill.
Guest TheG'Father Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 My favorite CD of all-time would have to be a tie between Weezer - Pinkerton and Tool - Ænima.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 I can only narrow it down to my fave artists recordings Butthole Surfers - Hairway to Steven Primus - Brown album Pixies - Doolittle Smiths - Meat is Murder
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 This is actually a tough question. But I'm going to have to say... Motorhead - All The Aces Yes, it's pretty much a "best of" album (in fact, it IS a "best of" album, one of the many for Motorhead), but it's replay value is tremendous.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 "Paris 1919" by John Cale, with honorable mention going to "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" and "The Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd, and "Who's Next?" by the Who.

Guest treble charged Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 treble charger - "Wide Awake Bored" (Canadian cover is my avatar) Not a weak track on the disc IMO. Went platinum in Canada, no one in the States knows about them unless they live within earshot of the Canadian border, pity. Honourable mention to "Maybe It's Me", also by treble charger. I probably enjoy more of the songs on "Maybe It's Me", but the songs on "Wide Awake Bored" that I enjoy, I enjoy a lot more.
Guest dilk bathoon Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 ^ ya, treble charger rule. favorite disk ever would definatly be '40oz to freedom' by sublime (preferably the version with their cover of "we're only going to die for our arrogance"). it's about as solid and varied an album as i've ever heard. #2 would be 'in utero' by nirvana. #3 is perhaps the Ramones live

Guest starvenger Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 I have sentimental value for INXS' "X" since it was my first CD (their last good album IMO) but my all time faves are: "Day for Night" - The Tragically Hip "The Joshua Tree" - U2 "Big Shiny Tunes 2" - Various I know, I know, the last one's a copout choice. But BST2 just kicks ass.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 "Wither Blister Burn & Peel"-Stabbing Westward Probably the only CD that I can listen to all the way through without skipping a song. Unfortunately, as of several weeks ago, the band is no more.
Guest redbaron51 Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 Big Shiny Tunes 2? You gotta be kiddin me. That album is junk. BST3 is better IMO
Guest hobu0 Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 ...And Justice For All-Metallica Ten-Pearl Jam Lateralus-Tool
Guest Madmartigan21 Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche
Guest starvenger Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 Big Shiny Tunes 2? You gotta be kiddin me. That album is junk. BST3 is better IMO One man's junk is another man's prized possession. I like BST2 better than BST3 (also a good album) because the music is a little more varied. I love it when they take vastly different artists like Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, Bran Van 3K, MGB etc. and smush them all together. For the same reason I liked the first two "Frosh" CDs. Plus on my BST3 CD it keeps skipping on "Karma Police".
Guest ])r. ])eath Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 Everytime that I post my favorite CD, I get clowned on. First off, I don't care what other people think, so that doesn't affect me. Secondly, a guy above me just stated the "One man's junk is another man's treasure" quote, and nobody can argue that, so.. Creed, "My Own Prison" The album blew me away. Creed is currently my favorite band, all because of this album. Before I heard "My Own Prison" I could never name my favorite band, let alone my favorite album. That has all changed. I just get depressed reading so many people dog on them. They deserve everything that they got. I hate when people knock Creed simply because it's "cool" to knock them right now. Just like people started hating Limp Bizkit for no reason. At least people think that Fred Durst is stealing music now, so that justifies a reason to dislike them. The reasons why people hate Creed can never be justified. "They suck" - Great, so, instead of describing what you personally dislike about the band, you have resulted to childish name calling. "They sold-out"- Ok, first tell me what your definition of sold out is. Secondly, Creed hasn't really changed their style, it's just that the softer songs seem to be the ones that get all the airplay. Creed also is still with the Wind-up label, so you can't say anything about that. [/rant]
Guest TUS_02 Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 Pinkerton by weezer Someone mentioned earlier and I tip my cap to you. I remember picking it up the day it came out and it stayed in my CD player for like 8-10 months straight.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 I second that TUS. Pinkerton is classic. Other fav's of mine include Beatles- White Album Stones- Beggars Banquet John Lennon- Plastic Ono Band The Who- Who's Next
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 Tough call on this one. For the sake of ease I'll list just 3 Emperor-"Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk"(BOW DOWN!) Anathema-"Judgment"(Quite possibly the most beautiful album ever created) Opeth-"Blackwater Park"(Opeth 3:16 says I just turned your spirit into hamburger helper)
Guest converge241 Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 yes! all the love for mindcrime!! and Dr.D, I love Creed. there seems to be some stereotype that you have to be Christian or uncoll to like em, but they rock. All 3 albums are amongst my favorites. Most of the stuff i like is world's heavier or way different, but they are the best "rock" band out there.
Guest LooseCannon Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 Either Doolittle or Bossanova are my favorite. GBV's Bee Thousand, Shellac's At Action Park, Bad Religion's No Control, Liz Phair's Exile in Guyville, Black Flag's Damaged, and Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation are also up there.
