Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 3, 2002 No one player is really standing out. My Top 5 1.Brad Banks-QB Iowa. A sleeper pick. 20 TD's 4 int., 2072 yards... Top 5 in the nation in Passing efficiency. Leading Iowa to a possible Rose Bowl birth. 2.Jason Gesser-QB Washington St. 3.Ken Dorsey-QB Miami 4.Chris Brown-RB-Colorado 5.Byron Leftwhich QB Marshall
Guest Blackston Report post Posted November 3, 2002 Byron Leftwich is pretty well knocked out. During Marshall's startling upset against Akron, the Zips knocked Leftwich out. I don't know the severity of his injury, but I do know that he had to leave the stadium to get it looked at... Leftwich needed to put up some eye-popping numbers against less than stellar MAC competition, and an injured Leftwich may be hard-pressed to do it...
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 4, 2002 The way ESPN was pimping him after those two O-Linemen carried him to the huddle. Forget that he threw an Int on the drive, and shouldn't of been in the game. It looks like they want Leftwich to win.
Guest Smark Hammill Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I have to put in a mention for my man Quentin Griffin. He won't get it because he struggle for a few games in the beginning of the year, but man, four straight 100 yard rushing games...and he's doing it on national TV. Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted November 4, 2002 What's going to hurt Griffin is that he is in a rotation at Oklahoma, they often bring in Kejuan Jones in goalline situations so it robs Griffin of TD's...kinda sucks that he isn't getting much consideration, as Griffin is carrying the Oklahoma offense right now. I was pimping Gesser a little, but I've watched two WSU games...he tends to float a lot of balls, but he has a great recieving corps to make up for it by going up and getting the ball. Still a great story, how he came back from the dislocated win to lead WSU over Cal. Dorsey had a blah game against Rutgers but I think he's still the favorite even if McGahee ran wild. Top 5: 1. Ken Dorsey, QB-Miami 2. Maurice Clarett, RB-Ohio State 3. Willis McGahee, RB-Miami 4. Brad Banks, QB-Iowa 5. Jason Gesser, QB-Washington State
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Top 5: 1. Ken Dorsey, QB-Miami 2. Maurice Clarett, RB-Ohio State 3. Willis McGahee, RB-Miami 4. Brad Banks, QB-Iowa 5. Jason Gesser, QB-Washington State McGahee would be above Clarett because of Clarett missing a few games and just being a freshman.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I'd say Clarret is out. He's missed most of 3 games. I still think Dorsey shouldn't win. He wouldn't be my choice, but honestly he's probably just has deserving of any other candidate.
Guest Smark Hammill Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I think Clarett's chances are nil.
