Guest TSMAdmin Report post Posted November 3, 2002 Hey yo... If you’ve been wondering where I have been (and I know you have!), I just bought a new computer, and didn’t have internet access for a few days, so I couldn’t contribute in the Crossface, among other things. I’ve got a few columns and tape reviews on the back burner, so keep your eye out for them. Anyway, let the celebration begin, as I’M BAAAACK, AND I’M BETTER THAN EVER! Ah, I guess I’ll throw in my thoughts on No Mercy for the hell of it. The show didn’t come close to touching the all around stellar Summerslam, and the wrestling didn’t touch Unforgiven, which had great matches (but crappy booking). The show as a whole was quite mediocre, but it’s worth seeing just for the AMAZING SD Tag Team Title match, which gets my vote for Tag Team MOTY. Otherwise, steer clear, as the HIAC is nothing special (though Taker bleeds like I’ve never seen him bleed before), and the IC title takes its final curtain, in the hands of the most hated backstage politician in the game today. Alright, onto tonight’s crapfest. The show starts off with a montage of the HHH and Kane feud. I’m not sure who WWE is trying to appeal to with this necrophilia angle... maybe the sex offenders out there? The pyro goes off and it’s time for another installment of everyone’s favorite Necrophilia pushing B show. Your hosts are The Coach (no, not the annoying guy with the whistle) and Lita. ...And, here comes Raven. His opponent for tonight is... hmm, generic theme... who could this be? Cassidy O’Reilly! Wow, a jobber match on Heat... I guess that goes to show you how weak the RAW roster really is. Cassidy has got short blonde hair, and some nasty looking orange tights that say “HS” on them (short for Hot Shots). Match One: Raven vs. Cassidy O’Reilly For those who aren’t familiar with O’Reilly, he tags with Chase Stevens on the indy circuit as the Hot Shots. *I THINK* they showed up on NWA:TNA not too long ago. O’Reilly is a hometown boy (Nashville, TNA country) so the fans don’t completely dog him. Raven taunts O’Reilly at the start, and offers him a chance to leave. O’Reilly declines, and they tie-up. O’Reilly gets backed into the corner, where he’s punched down by Raven. Whip by Raven, followed by a baaaaack body drop, and a kick to the head. Raven stomps away, followed by another whip and an attempted back body drop. O’Reilly reverses, and tries for a kick to the midsection, but Raven grabs on. O’Reilly spins out of it, and drops behind Raven with a school boy for one. O’Reilly goes to work with some rights and whips Raven into the corner. He leapfrogs Raven, but gets caught up in a waistlock. O’Reilly elbows out, but Raven pulls him down by his hair. Clothesline by Raven, which turned O’Reilly inside out. Raven sends O’Reilly to the corner again and hits another clothesline, followed by a snapmare into a choke hold. O’Reilly punches out, and springboards off the top with a springboard somersault legdrop, but Raven moves out of the way. Nice little high spot by O’Reilly. Raven takes advantage with a kick to the back and a foot across the face. Raven takes O’Reilly down with that knee to the back thingy in the corner for two. Raven locks O’Reilly up in a sleeper hold. O’Reilly elbows out, and hits a front handspring thump in the corner. He tries for a tornado DDT, but Raven shoves him off in the middle of the spin. O’Reilly goes off the ropes, and Raven tries to catch him in a sidewalk slam, but O’Reilly badly botches it and the move ends up looking like shit. The crowd gives him hell for that. Raven sets up for the Raven effect, but instead hits O’Reilly with some clubs to the back, followed by a whip. O’Reilly front handsprings off the ropes a la Tajiri, and hits a spinning crossbody for two. He sends Raven into the corner, but gets hit with a knee to the gut for his troubles. Raven sets up for the Raven Effect and.... HITS IT for the win. Not a bad effort by O’Reilly, but he blew some spots. * Jacqueline vs. Molly Holly is tonight’s (RE: Last Monday’s) main event. You can cut my anticipation with a knife. Commercial Break. WWE Overdrive of the Night: The overdrive tonight is Chris Nowinski nailing Al Snow with a Singapore Cane. A Nowinski vs. Snow feud might be so bad, and hell, if it gets Al on TV I’m for it. I don’t get why Snow isn’t on Smackdown though, as he fits the SD style much better, and he can shill for Tough Enough on Smackdown, as it comes on right before Tough Enough. Eh, since when has LOGIC mattered in WWE? Here comes... Mark Jindrak, making his second Heat appearance this month. His theme is quite generic. His opponent is another jobber, Mike Owens. Jeez, what’s up with all the jobbers tonight? I don’t know shit about Owens, he isn’t even in EWR. Match Two: Mark Jindrak vs. Mike Owens Tie-up to start, Jindrak goes around for a waistlock, but Owens counters with a waistlock of his own. Jindrak drop toeholds out of it, and immediately goes to work with a side headlock. Owens eventually gets out with an Irish Whip, but he gets knocked down with a shoulder block, followed by a hiptoss and a HUGE dropkick by Jindrak. GOD DAMN he got serious air on that! Coach rambles on about Jindrak having the highest vertical leap in WWF/E history. Another whip by Jindrak, followed by a tilt-a-whirl slam for two. Side headlock by Jindrak again, but Owens knees. Owens gets whipped into the corner, and Jindrak tries for a crossbody in the corner, but Owens ducks and Jindrak goes flying over the top rope. Owens stomps away on Jindrak, and hits a nice suplex, which he holds onto and rolls up back into the facelock, but instead follows it up with a Russian Legsweep for two. Owens hits an elbow drop for two, followed by a rear facelock. Jindrak elbows out, and hits three big clotheslines followed by another HUGE Dropkick. Whip by Jindrak, followed by a baaaaaaack body drop for 2. Owens rolls Jindrak up for two, followed by a powerslam for two. Owens whips Jindrak into the corner, but gets hit with a big boot. Jindrak hops onto the top rope, and hits a spinning clothesline off the top for 2. Owens gets up, but walks right into a gutwrench powerbomb! 1..2...3! Jindrak wins! I hope to see more from Jindrak in the near future. *1/4 Tough Enough Recap: Week One: Check out Patrick Spoon’s Tough Enough report for details. This time around, they seem to be treating Tough Enough more seriously, as they frowned on the girl that quit. I guess last years fluke has opened WWE’s eyes. Commercial time. RAW Recap: HBK at the World Looks like ol’ HBK will be back for one more match, possibly at Wrestlemania 19. Ah, guess HBK has to return the job to HHH. As always, check out RAW From JHawk’s beak for more on this. They shill Molly vs Jackie again. Stamboli vs. Steven Richards is next. And now, a word from our sponsors. Match Three: Steven Richards vs. Johnny Stamboli This shouldn’t be so bad. Tie-up to start, and Richards breaks it. Another tie-up, this time Stamboli shoves Richards down on his ass. Stamboli tries to tie-up again, but Richards hits him with a boot to the midsection followed by a chop to the chest. Richards gets whipped into the corner, followed by a back body drop and a scoop slam for two. Side headlock by Stamboli, and Richards fights off by shoving Stamboli into the ropes. Richards tries to show Stamboli over the top rope, but Stamboli hangs onto the bottom rope and climbs to the top. Stamboli hits an unsuspecting Steven Richards with a flying clothesline for two. Snapmare by Stamboli, right into a pinfall for two. Stamboli keeps the headlock locked in, until Richards shoves him off. Richards gets hit with a shoulder block and a whip by Stamboli, Stamboli leap frogs Richards, and gets hit with a drop toehold to the bottom rope, followed by a neckbreaker for two. Richards stomps away on Stamboli, and begs him to get up. He nails Stamboli with a boot to the face, and then hits a vertical suplex for two, followed by some elbow drops and a rear chinlock. Stamboli gets out by standing up, with Richards on his shoulders, and drops down. No cover, as Stamboli is out. Richards gets Stamboli up and whips him, but misses his clothesline. Stamboli hits a powerslam on his way back, but again can’t capitalize on it. They brawl back and forth, with Stamboli getting the advantage with a few clotheslines and an elbow block. Stamboli tries to hit an avalanche in the corner, but Richards catches him with a boot. Stamboli hits a tilt-a-whirl slam for two. Stamboli sets up for the Forgetaboutit, but Richards elbows out. Richards gets whipped into the corner, and Stamboli catches him in a military press. Oooh, Stamboli turned it into a Press Slam Powerbomb, but again can’t capitalize. He hops up onto the top rope, and misses an elbow drop. Richards hits the Steven Kick out of nowhere for the win. *1/2 Time for more commercials. RAW is Necrophilia Recap: HHH’s sex tape Wow, just wow. I never thought WWE would stoop this low. We’ve had old ladies giving birth to hands, crucifixions, coffin surfing, and castration, but I never thought it’d come to necrophilia. VINCE RUSSO LIVES! Anyway, Kane tells HHH he’s going to fuck him. For a minute there, I thought Kane was going to threaten Hunter... Molly vs Jackie is shilled again, and its time for more ultra long MTV commercials. Side note: NOW 11 is out??? HOLY SHIT! Do they release a new one every month or something? JVC Tower Of Power: The JVC Tower of Power is...Big Show beating the hell out of Jamal, Rosie and Rico. Way to push the new talent, guys. Main Event: The Virgin Molly Holly vs. Jacqueline Hey, didn’t this match happen two weeks ago on Heat? The only thing I want out of this match is for Jackie’s tits to stay in her shirt. Tie-up to start, arm wringer by Molly, reversed by Jackie. Jackie shoves Molly down, and cradles her for two. Tie-up again, side headlock by Molly. Jackie shoves out, but gets hit with a shoulder block. Jackie gets right up and hits three arm drags in a row on Molly, followed by a drop toehold. Molly rolls out of the ring claiming she injured her hand. Of course, she’s faking, and blind sides Jackie, slamming her into the steel steps, and into the ring. Molly tosses Jackie into the ring, and hits a nice snap suplex for two. Molly stomps away on Jackie, and rakes Jackie’s face, followed by a rear chinlock, uhh, I think. Jackie elbows out, and hits a crossbody coming off the ropes for two. Molly fights right back with a clothesline for two, followed by a nice neckbreaker for two. Right back to that rake to the face by Molly. Molly chokes Jackie with the ropes, and Molly breaks at 4. Jackie gets whipped into the corner, but Molly gets hit with an elbow. Jackie takes Molly down with some rights and a dropkick. Molly gets whipped into the ropes, and gets hit with a spinning back elbow for two. Three kicks to the midsection by Jackie, and she sets up for the Tornado DDT. Molly shoves out of it, and Jackie does a foward roll for no reason. I thought she was going for a Monkey flip, but instead, opts for the TEN PUNCHES OF DOOM! Molly powerbombs out of it and wins with her feet on the ropes. * Bottom Line: Lackluster Heat, full of jobber matches. It’s nice to see Jindrak in action though, and Stamboli and Richards had an ok match. Nothing that you should go out of your way to see, but when has anything on Heat been must see?
