Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 3, 2002 man that's sad. ok short form answer: competion between wcw nitro and wwf raw. Long form answer: wwf had a show every monday night, bischoff decided to go head to head with the wwf, and so nitro was boen, on the very first nitro Lex uger who was working for the wwf showed up. the war was on. it escaleted non stop wcw used it's deep pockets to buy away talent and the wwf creatd the attitude era. at the time raw was taped so bischoff was always giving away the results of the main events. Eventually Nitro began to slip because of the shitty over booking and the wwf took the lead. and basically stayed in the lead until they bought wcw.

Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 3, 2002 all righty no biggy, there's lots of newer fans out there that have no clue about anything not directly involving the rock so it's cool.
Guest HBK WILL ROT IN HELL Report post Posted March 3, 2002 Cobain. In those days you couldn't get access to Raw or Nitro because it wasn't on T.V and their was no Pay TV I just had to hire Vids. Was this related with the whole DX turning up at Nitro and managing to get the crowd outside to chant WCW sucks. Exposure is why I don't know all the storylines of that era but I know most of them. And I don't even like the Rock
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 3, 2002 The Monday Night Wars basically killed the jobber matches (cept on metal). Every night was equalled to a PPV with high profile matches.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 3, 2002 i wasn't meaning that you did like the rock i was just saying i was used to some fans not knowing much about the past. and the dx crowd thing was part of the monday night wars. This was the wwf's major time for attitude and dx would ilm skits where they'd show up at wcw events and bother the secruity and such. it was all an attempt to get wcw to acknowledge them and wcw fell for it hook line and sinker, mentioning them on nitro which got fans interested in the wwf. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 3, 2002 Can't forget when Bischoff challenged McMahon on Thunder. It ended making people watch Raw to see what Vince would do.
