Hogan gone for good

Can someone clue me in on some of Hogan's stories? On the Hulk DVD he mentions an Inoki shootfight and in this thread bps mentions Hulk talking about wrestling on some overseas show where he wasn't on the card.

Well...I don't think that was the same thing.

Inoki wasn't mentioned on the DVD. I have it. Was another wrestler who's name escapes me.

What happened in the Inoki match (which was before Hogan went back to WWF) was that Inoki was booked to win the match, but Hogan accidentally hit Inoki too hard, thus he got KO'd legitimately.

Therefor, they gave the win to Hogan.

Sorry, I didn't mean to connect the two stories. I just got an inkling that Hogan seems to like concocting stories or exaggerating the truth (especially about stuff in Japan) and I was just curious what some of these stories were.

"And so I picked up that 4 ton Andre, dude, and I dropped the big leg in front of 4 million screaming Hulkamaniacs, and I pinned Andre for the 1, 2, 3, right there in the center of the Roman Colliseum, brother. It was one of the greatest moments in the history of this great nation."

Fuckin Hogan.

Isn't Hogan on contract through till January ?

He could be X-Division champ come February 2003.

The 200,000 people crack came from Confidential.

In the death of WCW episode, Hogan was talking about how he drew 200,000 people to a show in North Korea.

It drew 200,000 people over the two day event...

the problem was...Hogan wasn't on that card.

He turned it down because he didn't want to job to Inoki.

So Flair went over and was happy to do it.

Basically Hogan passed on being able to claim drawing the biggest crowd ever...but still claims to do so anyway.

He was just speculating.

I think you're right. They have tons of new Hogan merchandise plus his book. If his contract ends in 2 months then they won't be able to sell all this stuff.

Maybe he won't wrestle but he will be back.

I think Hogan had a dispute back when that he was starting to hit a certain number of dates more than he was originally planned for, and because of that he may have been able to get out of his contract. He probably figures if Vince needs him later, he can jack up his asking price.

I think Lesnar/Hogan, despite Hogan's problems, may have drawn.

I don't think, nor do I like the fact, that the last image of Hogan in the WWE, maybe forever, is him lying on the mat, bleeding profusely, weak as Brock Lesnar stood over him with a sadistic look on his face and Hogan's blood on his chest.

That's a depressing way to go down. I hope that isn't his last match. I would like if he can go out with a bang at Wrestlemania XIX. The final goodbye.

I actually think that's the perfect way for a pro-wrestler to go out - by putting someone from the next generation over huge before heading off to enjoy your retirement.

Yes, and how many last goodbyes is Hogan going to get anyway? He's had what, 50 or 60?

Stay gone, orange boy.

First off, I don't mean to offend anyone, but every joke on this thread has been really awful. Some of you guys need to really step it up a notch in humor department.

Was this on PPV? With Scorpio versus Benoit and I think Bull Nakano on the card?

Also, Hogan might be right. Depending on when he pulled out of the event, his name may have drawn those people to the show. Pretend if some indy show advertised the Rock and every wrestling fan in the area believed it. They would buy tickets to the show and when they get there it turns out there's not gonna be any Rock. Even though he didn't appear, Rock drew those people.

So maybe what he says is misleading, but that doesn't mean it isn't rooted in the truth. Of course I don't know for sure.

I kinda like Hogan's commerical with Alf.

Huh? Is this airing now?

It was Tatsumi Fujinami.

Hogan said he had to "take care of business" against him on the last date of a Japanese tour, and that was how he got Andre's respect.

Hogan was never advertised for the show.

And yes it was on U.S. ppv with select matches from the 2 days.

Also...someone called in last night with a follow up to Meltzer asking when they announced that Hogan was gone, and Meltzer said that they had not, and would not announce it, but that Hogan was with complete and utter certainty...done.

I don't think Vince is done with Hogan yet, He hasn't milked him for all he is worth outside of the merch. He still needs the Hogan-Brock rematch at Rumble and of course the Hogan Farewell match atWMXIX WITH vince.

That's really fantastic. Now that means more time for incredible talents like Sean O'Haire and Elix Skipper....oh wait..he's not in WWE.

Hogan doesn't deserve a good send off after all the shit he's pulled.

Ending his career looking like a sad broken down old man is exactly what Hogan deserves.

Which is exactly why the orange bastard will return at some point. Hell I'm still convinced that Hogan really is an immortal and we shall be cursed with seeing him on TV forever.

Yeesh... could you imagine Hogan defeating Lesnar at Survivor Series and becoming the champ again? ::shivers::

Well, once again, Hogan didn't end his career the right way, I just wanted to see one more Hulkamania moment.........

Putting over a young guy is the right way to end your career. Winning your final match isn't the way wrestlers should end their careers.

But of course Hogan won't retire until after Vince vs. Hogan where Hogan will win. The only way it will be right for Hogan to win his final match is if it's over Vince and perhaps Undertaker since he won't be around much longer.

For Hogan to beat ANY young wrestler who still has a career ahead of him in his final match would be very wrong.

Hmmm, WWE promoting Hogans book, interesting. He's not gone yet, mark my words...

...he's just taking one of his infamous "vacations".

even if Hogan doesn't come back in a Wrestling compacity, I believe there is still some Old time marketability in Making Hogan a PR guy for Road trips and Overseas promotions. Whenever the WWE wants to schedule a Arena or have Autograph signing or just doing some Promoting Hogan can still limp out there and work the crowd. You gotta admit even in his horrid Decline...He is Still Hulk Hogan in his Decline.... People still wanted to See Babe ruth even when he couldn't run anymore, and Ruth just hobbled out of the dugout and waved his hat for the fans.

Hogan is at that point.

And I think him Jobbing the majority of his matches in the WWE was a way to End his Wrestling active career.

But hell folks, if someone is a WWF Loyalist he will always had a Job, Gorilla was employed by the WWF for decade + years after his WWWF/WWF wrestling career ended.

From Live Audio Wrestling:

"** It looks like Hulk Hogan and the WWE have parted ways in less than a year of working together for the third time. Vince McMahon had apparently wanted to use Hogan as Brock Lesnar’s opponent at Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden to which Hogan was amenable as long as he won and got the WWE title, an idea that McMahon wouldn’t support. Further, there is growing concern that Hogan and Vince could not come up with a suitable finish for their match which was originally supposed to take place at Summer Slam with all indications being that McMahon has plans on beating Hogan on his way out. Again, Bollea, not onside with this idea. Throw in the fact that Hogan is miffed about how he had to babyface the McMahon’s in his upcoming book and you’ve got the situation we’re in now. Fans have pointed out to me that all the Hogan clips from the opening montage of Smackdown have been edited out. Hogan is now said to be negotiating with All Japan to work shows with them in the middle-to end of November (which would mean he will do very little, outside of an appearance on Regis & Kelly, to promote his new literary effort). Hogan’s contract is technically up in January but it doesn’t appear that Vince cares if he bails."

Unless Hogan is willing to totally be unselfish (like it appeared he was in the run earlier this year) I really don't think he'll be back. Vince isn't going to budge on some of this shit, and Hogan might have already dug his grave too deep to crawl out of with all of these disagreements in creative with Vince. Even if he decides to change his ways again and do what is told of him, Vince might not even give two shits and will tell him to fuck off, he had his chance.

Sad but certainly justified.....Hogan tried to pull the politics one more time and it failed. Will he EVER learn?

I'm really shocked the WWE is even promoting his book, but then again they know it will make them some money (probably none which will go to Hogan) so what the hell, milk it.......THEN bury him when sales are nothing within the end of the year or something.

Doesn't sound like Hogan left the WWE with much choice - there's no way in hell that he should go over Lesnar.

If he's not willing to be jobbed out, then he's of no use as an active wrestler to the WWE.

They sell his merchandise, because they can still make money on it. They have the rights through his contract.

A little off topic but has anyone here seen the Muta/Hogan match from the early 90's in Japan?

I find it amusing that when Cena was getting ready to slap Vince one time (a slap that eventually knocked out Jericho) HHH stopped it and was like "No, only Hogan should do it because of their future match". Well, the Cena push stalled out not long afterwards and Hogan - Vince is never going to happen it looks like.

Brock ended Hulkamania.

And now he's moved up my list of favorite wrestlers.

WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

So he's ended Hulkamania and the Legend of the Undertaker. Excuse me while I vomit.
