Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Hopefully, they'll finally go through with the teased Raven push, and the 'masterpiece' will be something cool, like possibly re-building the Flock, or something that he hasn't done before. Thoughts? Ideas? Birthday presents? Cookie recipes?
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I missed Sunday Night Heat... did they say anything about it? I'll try and catch the replay. I'd watch RAW if Raven did something he hasn't done before - win a match... I don't think it'll be a new Flock, since the best guys that would've worked with are all ex-ECW, Heat-4-life-ers, and Matt Hardy who's on Smackdown now. Maybe whoever the Bisch traded for the Big Show (assuming it was a trade and isn't Big Poppa Pump) will team with Raven for a "new Flock", but otherwise, I don't have a lot of hope for that specific idea. I do have hope for Raven though... if they just give him an opportunity he'll take it. Maybe that's just the mark in me though
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I have no clue what it's going to be. But I think it just may be the coolest Raw segment in a long time. More Raven, Vince...more Raven.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted November 4, 2002 It can't be said enough times - I hope they bring back the Raven shirt.
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I think it just means that he'll return to RAW. Maybe in a managerial role for someone?

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I guarantee it will be something stupid so don't get your hopes up. Raven pushes have been rumored as often as bigger pushes for the cruiserweight division.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Why is everyone calling for a Flock redux? Everyone knows what happens when they rehash things in WWE....they suck. DX and nWo are prime examples and they were better than the Flock in the first place.
Guest job squad Report post Posted November 4, 2002 it will be stupid or they will just forget about it and he will start hinting at it for the next week and the next till we are worying about the y10k bug

Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted November 4, 2002 The hopeful part of me feels it may involve Sean O'Haire in some way, either as part of a new Flock (if that's what this is about) or maybe Raven will be an advisor (like mentioned earlier). I think O'Haire is ready to return to action, so it's quite a possibility.
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted November 4, 2002 What did he say exactly? He was chatting with Stevie backstage, and Stevie wanted to know what Raven's up to. Raven told him that he would have to wait and find out next week, like everyone else. ...I swear he's said that before, too.
Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Raven was my favorite wrestler from 1995-97, and I still sort of liked him in WCW. When he signed with ECW in 1999 I marked out like crazy. ECW hadn't been the same since he left. But it turns out he was lazy and wasted a big money contract (for ecw) that Paul could have used on someone who gave a damn. To me Raven was the most dissapointing thing about ECW's last year. Sometimes you have to lay in the bed you make so I don't feel sorry for Ravens non push and hope he just fades away. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Raven deserves a push. He's the only reason I ever watch Heat, and despite the fact he's been injuried repeatedly he can still wrestle a decent match. Remember Raven Vs. Rhyno (Can't remember which PPV)? That was the best Hardcore title match I ever saw.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Raven's Masterpiece? A full, life size painting of HHH, mauled beyond recognition so you can't tell what he looks like. That would be a masterpiece to me, and probably to everyone here.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Remember Raven Vs. Rhyno (Can't remember which PPV)? That was the best Hardcore title match I ever saw. That was Backlash 2K1, and yea, I loved that match too. That was one of my favorite matches of the year, and probably is one of the best, if not the best Hardcore match in the WWF/E. Guest MrSCARY Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I'd love to see Raven get a push. I have to believe he pissed someone off along the way to end up where he's at. He hasn't done jack shit in a very long time. People like the guy, he's a decent enough wrestler. He has good mic skills. So what's the freakin' problem? If he ends up on RAW with an actual push then GREAT!! I'll believe it when I see it though.
Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Remember when he was kind of feuding with the Hardy Boyz, overlapping Taker's feud with Jeff? I thought they were finally going to do something with him then, but they just had him lose the exile match and had Matt beat him up when he. I was pissed, but then I thought something's going on if he got beat up just as he was leaving to his new permanent Heat gig. Then he goes on to beat Tommy Dreamer in a match he cut a revenge promo for, and then Matt Hardy. I'm thinking something big's happening, but then I read on a newsboard the WWE sent Raven to Heat and that was it. And it wasn't BECAUSE they had no plans for him, they sent him there and THEN decided they didn't have any plans for him. That said, I have hope for the "masterpiece." It's been teased for over a month now. First, Raven wins the feud with D-Lo and says it's the first step to setting the plan into motion. Then he gives the in-ring promo talking vaguely about the masterpiece. After a week sabbatical do to the PPV, he beats some jobber and nothing happens, making me think they dropped the angle. Now, he and Steven mention it's coming NEXT WEEK!!! and I'm all psyched again. I won't be able to keep myself away from the spoilers tonight. I missed Sunday Night Heat... did they say anything about it? I'll try and catch the replay. Okay, but Raven's not on the replay anymore. They do use guys like Billy Bellamy and Peter Faccinelli now. I'd watch RAW if Raven did something he hasn't done before - win a match... I don't think it'll be a new Flock, since the best guys that would've worked with are all ex-ECW, Heat-4-life-ers, and Matt Hardy who's on Smackdown now. What's wrong with being ex-ECW or Heat fodder? Those are the kinds of guys the Flock's always had. Here's some candidates: O'Haire (definite), Richards (definite), Jindrak, Spike Dudley (I'd like to see a heel turn), Credible, Kanyon, Saturn, Bill DeMott, Rhyno (I doubt it, though), Victoria, Stamboli, Howard Finkel (it would rule), OVW callups (Seven, Malice). And maybe even that NWA-TNA guy he beat and Mark Jindraks archenemy Mike Owens! Why is everyone calling for a Flock redux? Everyone knows what happens when they rehash things in WWE....they suck. DX and nWo are prime examples and they were better than the Flock in the first place. Ok, everyone, stop wishing for the Flock to come back. This guy thinks they sucked. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I don't know why everyone's such a huge fan of raven. The guy's had three good matches EVER that I can remember, and two involved Benoit, one of which was a tag match. The other was with Pillman back when both men were young and athletic. He's easily one of the most overrated wrestlers on the net. The guy just isn't that good of a worker. He's a sloppy bumper, he can't carry anyone, and he's getting old. Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Well, Jake "the Snake" Roberts & The Ultimate Warrior were favorites of mine growing up, and it's not like they ever had 5-star matches. It's Raven's devotion to his character that appeals to me. Everything he does, just seems.. right. Ya know? I also mark for the DDT as a finish still. Guest notJames Report post Posted November 4, 2002 What did he say exactly? He was chatting with Stevie backstage, and Stevie wanted to know what Raven's up to. Raven told him that he would have to wait and find out next week, like everyone else... Translation: the writers don't know either. Another Flock? Feh. It began and ended with Stevie Richards. Anything after the ECW incarnation is just re-tread revisionist nostalgia that will appeal to .000001% of the fanbase. What kind of an impact are a bunch of Heat lowcarders gonna have on the Triple H show? Oooh, they ran in on a Spike Dudley match. Oooh, there goes Justin Credible crotch-chopping a half-empty arena. Oooh, Mark Jindrak's blown up after a minute and a half, but he's wearing a Raven shirt, so that makes it all better. Just have Raven manage or team up with either Tommy Dreamer or one good/decent new guy and leave it at that. I'd say Sean O'Haire, but if he's still as slow and unimpressive as he was before his shoulder injury, I say send him back to OVW. And no, a few high-impact slams mixed in with bad pacing do not a great wrestler make. Sure he's got potential, but so do a lot of them. And that's why they're on Heat. Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I think the point of the Flock is that it will draw some interest to those guys. Yes, they'll still be losers, but RAVEN losers! And Mark Jindrak gets blown up after a minute in a half? He's a cardiogod.
Guest Brian Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Raven's great at innovating spots in his matches. Remember the Rhyno match at BackLash. He had the three-way with DDP and Benoit, a few matches in ECW, and I'm sure some other stuff; but the main reason for the Raven love is that he does a great job booking and laying out things, and has a great character and is great on the mic. Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted November 4, 2002 Guys, if WCW '98 could do an interesting Raven's Flock, you DAMN WELL KNOW the WWE can do it better. WCW fucked up EVERYTHING. At least the WWE can still do good angles when they need to.

At least the WWE can still do good angles when they need to. As far as I know, Raven had carte blanche with the Flock angle. That's why it rose above the wCw dreck. I sincerely doubt he'd have that kind of creative control now. And I agree with Brian on all points. I just have no faith in Vince's ability to cash in on his mental acumen and booking savvy. Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 4, 2002 I must also admit no interest in the Flock. I mean, all they were was a collection of losers (other than Stevie, who I enjoy, and Kidman) that wandered around with Raven. Riggs - Sucked Lodi - Sucked Hammer - Sucked Reese - Sucked Sick Boy - Springboard Sucked Ohhh, give me more of that.
