I used to live in NH and I pay attention to the US elections as I may move back. With that in mind.

 

If any, repeat -ANY- republicans make it in NH state house, or if Sununu wins the senate, I'm going to vomit. People screaming about taxes, big whoop. Sununu allowed buisnesses to get a loophole to put their HQ in bermuda to avoid taxes, and every repub there is against civil unions.

Maryland Governor is really close. Kennedy-Towson: 50%, Ehrlich 49% with 66% reporting. GO BOB!!!!

Yay, Rendell wins! Maybe that means we won't lose tens of millions in appropriations next year. Our tuition went up 14% last year because Schweiker cut our funding, even though we're already getting the lowest amount of state support of any school in the Big Ten. That's the major issue for me, I don't want to end up paying $20,000+ a year for tuition so that PA citizens can get tax cuts that don't even apply to me.

The man I wanted to win governor (a Republican, believe it or not, I told you I always support whoever is better for the job) won, but Lindsey Graham is now our new senator... which made me curse a lot.

 

The Democrats were insane to run a Tax Increase campaign in Florida. Sad how they gave up on that state.

BTW: Am I the only one noticing the looks of shock on people appearing on CNN now that the GOP can actually take the Senate. Terry McAllufe (sp) looks like he took a crap in his pants. All campaign he's been talking about how his party is going to run all over Republicans. Now he's saying "Well at least we can get a majority of governors."

When I did the preview for the thread of IL governor, I had to look up how to spell his name TWICE.

 

Anyway, HUGE mistake by my fellow citizens in Illinois for this one. In my opinion, of course. Blagojevich is not as good as Ryan, in my opinion again. When you pin something on a candidate that had to do with a completely seperate guy, it's just wrong and he should not lead my state. I can't wait until I can vote next year so I can have my insignificant ballot counted.

And intelligent people hate trite, insulting little maxims like that. To chalk up the terrorist attacks of 9/11 as "dumb luck" for Republicans winning is an insult to the 3000 people who DIED conferring that "luck." Did it help? I'm sure it did, since Republicans tend to favor a strong defense, which is appealing to people in the afterhath of such a tragedy. But anyone who heartlessly considers 3000 of his dead countrymen to be "dumb luck" in a political race can be accurately described with a rhyming term: dumb fuck.
