Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 You know I was thinking about all the unclean jobs that HHH and UT do and I just realized.....does anyone in the uppercard job clean!? I mean when was the last time Benoit or Angle jobbed without something screwy occuring? Benoit's losses to Rey and Edge are b/c or Angle and most of Angle's losses lately are b/c of Benoit. And Angle's loss to Benoit was screwy. Kane's jobs are screwy. As are Booker's lately. Does anybody job clean when they make it to the upper card or does everyone have to lose screwy? *PS* This thread is made with the assumption that we are speaking of a world where no Chris Jericho exists.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 But if they jobbed clean, they would lose all thier heat! Didn't Mommy ever tell you that little boys with no heat go to the bad place instead of heaven? EDIT: Was this funny? If it wasn't, I could post again with, you know, content.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 It was semi-funny. But yes WWE needs to really get over this fear of "If you lose cleanly you will lose heat!" I didn't see all them Japanese wrestlers losing heat for being pinned clean. If the match ends on a devastating finisher then fans won't think "Hey he just got pinned.....pussy." they will think "Dude! He just murdered him with that move! It took that to beat him!?" or something along those lines.
ChrisMWaters Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Rock got pinned cleanly at Summerslam. Course, he tried to do that stupid ass People's Elbow...
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 It really is recockulis. If Booker hits HHH with a hangover I wouldn't say "HHH is a girl" I would say "Booker landed on his face, he's going home in a fuckin box". I mean, I would call HHH names, but because he eats ass, not because he got pinned.

Guest Mulatto Heat Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 I was reading past SK Survivor Series rants and I came across something that's fitting here. From the 1989 rant after Rick Rude and Roddy Piper were counted out, which was about the tenth non-pinfall elimination of the night: Piper gets the hot tag as I struggle to remember how they booked it to get rid of Piper and Rude without anyone jobbing. Oh, yeah, brawl to double-countout, that’s it. You know, the transition from 80s wrestling to 90s wrestling was starting to become apparent, as the bookers didn’t want to job ANYONE to ANYONE if they could possibly help it, because it might hurt a house show gate in Podunk, MD if the fans didn’t believe that both guys in the “C level” show main event were indestructible. It seems that the 80s wrestling has made its comeback in a form other than Hogan's return, as that is so true as to what goes on today. Aside from Jericho, no one can ever lose decisively, with rare exceptions (Rey losing cleanly to Angle twice in a row, with no screwiness, comes to mind -yes Angle is SO misused). What's worse is that the people Jericho has jobbed to never capitalize on the wins. John Cena is nothing at the moment. So what was the point having Jericho lose to him cleanly on PPV? There was none.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 why would you ever make fun of Podunk, MD.... damn you....
Guest Anglesault Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Angle jobs cleanly all the time. Especially when facing Edge. Ditto with benoit.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Nothing Wrong with Not jobbing "clean" on TV, as long as it continues a feud. More times then not, it helps add drama and more detail to a heated Storyline. PPV's, 9 out of 10 times, should end with a clean finish.

Guest subliminal_animal Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Angle jobs cleanly all the time. Especially when facing Edge. Ditto with benoit. When did Angle or Benoit job cleanly last? I really don't remember. I think Edge for Angle, and I can't recall for Benoit. Also, I don't really consider Mysterio rollups totally clean, since they're fluke pins.
