Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 5, 2002 I use to read the book regularly...I read about the first 3 or 4 TPB's worth anyway. How did the book end? Did JEsse kill God or vice verca or what? I've always kinda wondered.

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Hell...I only have one of the trade paperbacks now. There's like 8 or 9 of them, I'm never going to get them at a price I'm willing to pay. I'm pretty sure there was around 50 books total, maybe a little more
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted November 5, 2002 How many TPBs? Uh, not sure, but nine sounds about right. And I'll tell you how it ended if you REALLY want to, but I strongly recommend you read it first.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Spoil! Spoil! I'll never read it. Don't have the cash to put into the TPBs, and Borders doesn't have the last few anyway. So just give it to me please. Although I haven't even read half of the series, so I might not know all of the players outside of the early ones.
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted November 5, 2002 66 issues and I believe 5 specials. Plus the Saint of Killers mini series which turns out to be important to the main story, which to me was retarded because you had to buy those issues too or else it wouldnt make total sense. Also 9 TBPs, which have all lthe specials minus the saint mini series in them, The vertigo preview special(just the first 3 pages of issue 1)($9 tops), the retailers special(still have NO idea on this, but I think its jsut a few pages from issue 1)(unknown since I never saw it), the covers collection ($25 i think, hardbound book), 2 jesse figures (Black outfit and white oputfit)($15 each), a 9 piece(i think) pvc set($15 or 10), tulip and cassidy figures action figures ($15 each), and a Jesse statue. ($175 when first shipped, maybe 225 now) (I am a huge preacher mark, sue me) And a poster. ****SPOILER**** In the end, Star kills Jesse, and Tulip kills Star and featherstone and hover, Cassidy dies because the sun comes up. What happend was Jesse found out that Cass is an asshole and was fucking Tulip when they thought he was dead, Jesse also finds out about Cass's evil past, and herion addiction. They set up a fight at the almo, I forget how star finds out ( I think FBI tip), but he and like the last of the grail (12 guys) are there, shoot Custer, and Tulip kills them. BUT turns out Cass made a deal with God that Jesse lives no matter what, so Jesse comes back to life, eye and all returned. Jesse has also made a deal with the saint of killers to have god killed because God setup TSOK to become TSOK by killing his family, so when God is saving Jesse, i think this is when it happens, TSOK goes into heaven and kills EVERYONE. Bodies everywhere. God comes back, pleads, Saint kills him and rest in god's throne (God could only be killed if he was off his throne or something stupid like that). Tulip and Jesse make amends for past digression, and we close with Jesse and Tulip riding off into the desert on a horse. And Jesse fulfulling his dream to be a cowboy, movie style. And Cassidy becomes human. (That about covers the last 5 or 6 issues story arch, Almo, which I think was 7 issues total) I am assuming that the (oh god its name so escapes me at the moment, but the devil and angle kid) died when custer died, but its never really explained. So that part was weak. And a few other things bothered me, but right now I cant rememebr them, havent reread the series in a year or so.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Cynical is mostly right, except for (SPOILER) Starr flipped out near the end and killed Featherstone and Hover himself, and then Tulip killed him. And yeah, the entity thing (I forgot its name) did indeed die when Jesse was shot. As for the supporting characters, well, most of 'em are already dead by then. We do eventually find out that Jesse's mom is alive and well, and the mutilated kid, Arseface, becomes a rock star, loses his fortune, and ends up falling in reciprocated love with this one-eyed chick who was a childhood friend of Jesse's. That's about all. (END SPOILERS)
