Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 5, 2002 What will the match at Survivor Series look like? I hope it looks just like this: "(5) Brock Lesnar beat Big Show. A slow match highlighted by a three or four minute bear hug by the Big Slow. Finish came on a modified fireman's carry by Brock." 4 Minute bearhugs for everyone!!!!!!! Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 5, 2002 "Finish came on a modified fireman's carry by Brock." So I guess an F-5 is out of the question too huh? And this is the first time I've heard that a bearhug is the HIGHLIGHT of the match. Ugh, I wonder what the lowlights were...... They should have went with Benoit instead in Shows slot. Like I've said before, Hogan would have even been better, but its good to know they at least HAD that planned first and foremost, but of course Hogan had to refuse to put Brock over again. On a positive note, I think Heyman will at least book Show solidly leading to the ppv to give the impression that he's worthy of the title match. But then once the match happens.......well........ Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Oh dear. That certainly doesn't sound like a very good sign. Good thing Raw gets to have the main event this PPV, right? I mean, Smackdown has had the last FIVE, and it'd be nuts to not have the Elimination Chamber last. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Yeah, the elimination chamber will be last this time. Adding further feul to my "face is going over" fire.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 5, 2002 But they've shown they aren't afraid to send the fans home pissed. I can't call a winner for the Chamber yet, and doubt I'll be able to until after next week's Raw. Speaking of which, did you do the report this week for SmarkTalk? I'd like to see what you thought of the first decent show in several weeks. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 5, 2002 I have the show on tape and I'll get to it soon. I'm trying to finish up my Elimination Chamber article where I will tell you who wins and why...but I needed a break.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Now, you all know that I'm never one to say "I told you so...."
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Big Show vs Brock Lesnar: The Battle of the Bearhugs, i can hardly curb my enthusiasm for this one.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 5, 2002 BUT, I did say that this match would see the return of the boring multi minute bearhugs. And you all yelled at me.
Guest Brian Report post Posted November 5, 2002 I'm surprised it only took five minutes for Big Show to get his wind back. Two minutes with Rikishi and he looked like he was having a seizure.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Yep, and that's NEVER happened to brock. Nope. never. No siree. (MARK HENRY)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Jeez, not that argument again. It was a backstage segment, so we have no idea if it was taped immediately after the match.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 5, 2002 So what the fuck was he so exhausted from? And he also did it the week after, too, remember?
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Was the week after backstage? I don't recall what you're referencing. They could have told Brock to act like that to give the illusion that he just came from the ring after beating up Henry.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 5, 2002 The first week, he did a walk in on an Angle match, F5ed Henry and walked back. When Angle confrnoted him, he was wheesing. The week after, he had a match with Henry, and after the match a confrontation with Hogan, and he was huffing.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted November 5, 2002 So, both backstage? If so, we have no idea when they were filmed. They could have done them 3 hours before showtime, to make sure they don't mess up, or it really could have been immediately afterwards. Bottom line, unless you know exactly when they were filmed, those 2 instances don't prove anything.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Or, you could always, you know look at the man during the John Cena match... Anyway, they filmed the segment at three in the after noon, covered them both in fake perspiration, and told Brock to talk like someone with emphysema. Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Anyway, they filmed the segment at three in the after noon, covered them both in fake perspiration, and told Brock to talk like someone with emphysema. It *is* the WWE. The same company that thought/thinks Kane, Bubba, and Bradshaw could/can be ME'ers.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Oh, come one. Fine, how do you explain the Cena match?
Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted November 5, 2002 When it comes to the question of Brock Lesnar blowing up or not... ...well, I watched him go twenty minutes plus with the Undertaker in a HiaC match before sprinting up the side of the cage like he was running down a smooth road, so that's all I've got to say about that. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 5, 2002 I Have to see that hell in a Cell, because "slow" has been one of the big words to describe it.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Look, Matt Hardy came up to do an interview an HOUR after that hardcore match with Taker where Brock F5'd him on the popcorn, and Matt sounded incredibly winded. It's just a promo... let it go.
Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted November 5, 2002 I Have to see that hell in a Cell Yes, you do that, then maybe you can talk with some authority on the subject. You should find it easily enough on Kazaa.

Guest Brian Report post Posted November 5, 2002 I've seen pleny of matches that can be described as slow that blow away everything the WWE's put out this year.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted November 5, 2002 Brian, those matches could probably also be described as "good". Slow + Bad is a) not a good combination and b) Big Show's nickname. And this is just a theory, but I think if you try to give someone an F5, but collapse due to thier mammoth weight, you have just performed a "modified fireman's carry". Guest Brian Report post Posted November 5, 2002 You're going to tell me that Flair and Steamboat working over a chinlock for thirty minutes isn't slow? Savage and Steamboat put out some awesome house show matches that were very slow, at least one of which topped their Mania match. Benoit/Regal was by definition a slow match. Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted November 5, 2002 the promo that aired last night during raw for survivor series made me laugh. it said some crap about a sleep giant awakening. more like a lazy fuck is getting a push he doesn't deserve. personally i would love to see brock turn face and feud with chris benoit over the title
