Guest BillyTheStud Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 It was in late-99 around his brief and forgettable Hardcore title rein. Him with his horse face wearing that dorky thing was the most hilarious sight I've ever seen in wrestling. Does anyone have a pic of him wearing it?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 That was just funny. Such a dumb little angle that got stretched out forever. I had Bill Lambier (sp) flashbacks
Guest converge241 Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 i loved that time period when he was forced to team with Mae and Moolah and what not as well? great
Guest dreamer420 Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 poor test. i'm pretty sure his nose got broken, (probably by hhh right?) but his push kept him on tv while injured. scott steiner looked just as stupid on fall brawl 2000
Guest Choken One Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 But The same thing happened to Undertaker but they were smart and designed a mask that fit in with the character.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 poor test. i'm pretty sure his nose got broken, (probably by hhh right?) but his push kept him on tv while injured. scott steiner looked just as stupid on fall brawl 2000 Actually, very funny story there. It was November 99, right in the middle of evil DX. Anyway, they were doing something (I don't recall) and Test ran into the ring for the save. Unfortunately, he decided to try "run in and slide under the bottom rope" and he kind of, well, missed. He smashed his face into the bottom rope and shattered his nose. It was sold as Billy Gunn breaking it, I think.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 They seem to pull that angle out of the mothballs every few years. The first guy I remember wearing a face mask was Virgil heading into Wrestlemania 8 after getting destroyed by Sid. I believe that was around the time Lambieer got notice wearing one. Hmm....
Guest converge241 Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 "It was sold as Billy Gunn breaking it, I think. " yes it was
Guest Mattdotcom Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Ew, I'd rather sell it as hitting the ropes. At least the ropes had a personality, but even they're slacking off these days. Damn politics!
Guest redbaron51 Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 i don't know what is worse. Doing something stupid, or getting an injury from Billy Gunn
Guest job squad Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 instead of the nose guard they schoud just make test wrestle with a paper bag over his head
Guest Bricks Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 poor test. i'm pretty sure his nose got broken, (probably by hhh right?) but his push kept him on tv while injured. scott steiner looked just as stupid on fall brawl 2000 Actually, very funny story there. Guest The Amazing Rando Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 of course they can't make a mask fitting Test's character...the only thing he has going for him is Stacy...
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 So make a mask that's a pair of legs spread across his face, doesn't take rocket science to figure THAT one out. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest dreamer420 Posted November 7, 2002 Report Posted November 7, 2002 That's got to be up there in the lamest cause of injury ever. Does Kevin Nash taking a tag on Raw ring a bell?
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted November 8, 2002 Report Posted November 8, 2002 But he tripped over Booker because Booker doesn't know how to work WWE Style, SILLY! Man, that image of my proposed mask for Test has me laughing my ass off still. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 8, 2002 Report Posted November 8, 2002 Does Kevin Nash taking a tag on Raw ring a bell? That's not so much lame as it is ironic and funny. I also find it funny that something like this gets thrown in to the "old school" section
