It was in late-99 around his brief and forgettable Hardcore title rein. Him with his horse face wearing that dorky thing was the most hilarious sight I've ever seen in wrestling. Does anyone have a pic of him wearing it?

poor test. i'm pretty sure his nose got broken, (probably by hhh right?) but his push kept him on tv while injured. scott steiner looked just as stupid on fall brawl 2000

But The same thing happened to Undertaker but they were smart and designed a mask that fit in with the character.

Actually, very funny story there. It was November 99, right in the middle of evil DX. Anyway, they were doing something (I don't recall) and Test ran into the ring for the save. Unfortunately, he decided to try "run in and slide under the bottom rope" and he kind of, well, missed. He smashed his face into the bottom rope and shattered his nose. It was sold as Billy Gunn breaking it, I think.

They seem to pull that angle out of the mothballs every few years. The first guy I remember wearing a face mask was Virgil heading into Wrestlemania 8 after getting destroyed by Sid. I believe that was around the time Lambieer got notice wearing one. Hmm....
