Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 10, 2002 Bombers - 30 Lions - 3 The game ended after a fan rushed onto the field, and got his ass handed to him by a few of the Lions' players, and it kind of escalted into a big brawl. Convincing win, and now, next week's match-ups are set: Toronto vs. Montreal Winnipeg vs. Edmonton Just like most people expected.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 17, 2002 East Final Montreal - 35 Toronto - 18 Unfortunately, I'll miss most of the West final, since I'll be leaving for Survivor Series.
Guest Phr33k Report post Posted November 17, 2002 EDM 29, WPG 3, 3rd quarter. I wanted a Montreal/Edmonton final, that should be a great game.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Montreal and Edmonton.... I want Edmonton to win so badly against the Al's
Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Edmonton's got the home field advantage going for them, too. Plus, Montreal never fails to choke, as today was only their second playoff win since moving from Baltimore.
Guest Bricks Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Well, last time Montreal played Edmonton, Montreal whooped them. And it was in Edmonton. But this is for the Grey Cup, and thus Montreal will choke as usual.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 20, 2002 OK, so Grey Cup predictions. I hope that Montreal can take it, but their recent history of choking hard when it matter, coupled with the fact that Edmonton is playing in front of the home town crowd leads me to believe that Edmonton will probably win by at least two touchdowns, if not more. Guest Bricks Report post Posted November 20, 2002 Like most recent Grey Cups, this will go down to the wire. Even though, they're choke artists, I'll pick the Als to win out of spite to my provincial rivals the Eskies. Plus, the Als defense is just getting stronger and stronger. Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 24, 2002 http://www.americaone.com/shows/cfl_uscoverage.htm For all you interested Americans out there (and I'm sure there's at least 1 of you), that site should be able to help you find out if there are any stations in your region that are showing the game, which starts tonight at around 6 EST, or so. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted November 24, 2002 I'm Pulling for Edmonton...no real educated reason, I just don't want a team from Quebec to win. At least Edmonton is a Western team.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Well, Montreal won, and it was a close game up until the end, which is all you can really ask for. The game itself was nothing special, though.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted November 25, 2002 It was an okay game but the fact that the feild was so slippery really hurt the game. I was pulling for Edmonton but Oh well.
Guest Bricks Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Maybe they should, I don't know, cover the friggin' field with some tarp when they're not using it like professional teams are supposed to do. Yeesh. Stupid Edmontonians. I watched NFL Primetime instead and just caught the ending. It was close, but not as exciting like the past years.
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I am an American and actually caught the game, the last few minutes were pretty exciting. Nice to see former LA Xtreme reciever Jermaine Copeland doing well in Canada - two touchdowns. I forgot there were only 3 downs in CFL play...I was wondering why they were punting so much. That and the 12 men really open up the game compared to the NFL. I can get into leagues where the teams bomb it away. Question...What was the "Staple Bowl" or "Staple Cup"? The announcers made two references to it...once talking about someone who had played in it and another about a player who keeps the staples from that game in a jar. Just wondering what that was all about. BTW, Montreal's uniforms are really cool. Edmonton's remind me of the old Oregon Ducks jerseys before they switched to their new ones. Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I think the 'Staple Cup' or 'Bowl' just refer to an old Grey Cup game where someone had staples in his shoes to help with traction. I don't know much about the story, personally.
