Week TEN Prediction Thread....

Recommended Posts

Guest bravesfan
Bravesfan, will the tie game count as a win, loss, or tie for everyone?

Please make it not a win, because first place would remain with me. Thanks.

It's a loss for everyone, Leena. ;)

But they still have 3 more games in which to turn around that division record. Woo! Go Bills!

Yawn.

If this was the end of the season I would care about that.

Last I checked, it wasn't

I don't know if I'd be excited about that after their last performance. The Bills' have defeated Minnesota, Chicago, Detroit, Houston and Miami (where Lucas handed them the game).

I don't see the Bills having a chance against New England or New York... and Fiedler should be back for the Miami game. All 3 of those will be losses for Buffalo.

The division record carries out through the season... so you should care about it. It's a valid point... and grow up.

So lets see..

Atlanta (tied) is 5-3-1 (Hold the Wild Card currently)

NY Giants (won) are 5-4 1/2 game back

Arizona (lost) is 4-5 1 game back

Washington is 4-5

St. Louis is 4-5

Washington plays at the Giants next week and St. Louis the week after. My hope is that Stephen Davis is back next week and they can beat the Giants (they aren't that good..) and then the Redskins and Rams meet up with Warner tanking it for them because Martz goes with Warner instead of Bulger (Who should be starting if they expect to make the playoffs..)..The rest of their schedule (at Dallas, Giants, at Philly, Houston, Dallas) lends itself to a 4-1 record (or better)..

The Redskins aren't out of this thing, they just really need Stephen Davis back BAD so that Spurrier will stick with the running game...

*Edit: I keep forgetting Tampa is in the South :) Nevermind.

I think the 2 wild card spots will be fought for amongst New Orleans, Atlanta, and St. Louis.

Wouldn't it be something if the Rams came back and made the playoffs? They were given up for dead by everyone (including me) when they started 0-5. Today, they learned they could win without Warner AND Faulk. If they end up 10-6, I'd say they're a lock, and that would be one hell of a turnaround.

I said the Rams had to win their final 11 to make the playoffs... and there's still a good chance of that. At 10-6, Atlanta would have to lose 3 more games... I wouldn't bet on that.

St Louis will be out of the playoffs the minute they start Warner over Bulger, which looks to be next Monday night vs the Bears..

Im taking the Bears in that game if the Rams start Warner over Bulger..

That's rather harsh... I'd hope Martz realizes that he has to give the ball to Marshall til he drops... I hope.

The Falcons remaining schedule

Sun, Nov 17 New Orleans (possible loss)

Sun, Nov 24 at Carolina (win)

Sun, Dec 1 at Minnesota (win)

Sun, Dec 8 at Tampa Bay (should lose)

Sun, Dec 15 Seattle (win)

Sun, Dec 22 Detroit (win)

Sun, Dec 29 at Cleveland (Could be interesting, the Browns could be fighting for the playoffs..right now its a win)

there are 3 possible losses if Cleveland needs that final game..and if they lose 3 games they would be 9-6-1 because of the tie which would screw them if the Rams/Redskins/Giants have 10 wins..

Those crazy Champaign-Urbana Bears, they just keep coming up with new and innovative ways to fuck up. As always...I blame it on Jim Miller. Whether he played or not, it is always Jim Miller's fault.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how friggin hilarious that quote was.

Oh yeah... GO JAGS!!!!! ONLY ONE GAME UNDER .500!!!!

Sigh...

 I didn't know the Falcons had that easy of a schedule left. I'm more confident in my bet. Of course, you never know what will happen with injuries, and Vick... but there are 5 games they should easily win, and they already won in NO.

Uh..last time I checked Faulk hurt his ankle today..I don't know any more than that, but if he doesn't play and they give the ball to Kurt Warner vs the Bears without Faulk, I GUARANTEE the Bears will win.

As far as the Redskins not getting to 10 wins: They have 3 Games vs teams from Texas (2 Dallas, 1 Houston) and 2 Games vs the Giants. That is 5 Games that the Redskins SHOULD win (provided Stephen Davis is back..). That leaves St. Louis and Philly. Philly doesn't look invincible after todays walloping and see above for my feelings on St. Louis...

Why is ANYONE wasting brain cells trying to figure out the playoff picture when 3/4 of the league is around .500?

I really can't see one team that you can safely say is a true Superbowl contender (Packers included and the Bucs will choke in either the Wild Card or Divisional as usual).

Well, considering how bad the NFC is, The Packers have all but Clinched the NFC North (8-1), The 49ers have all but Clinched the NFC West (7-2). There are only 5 teams right now that have a shot at the 2 Wild Cards and it is pretty much between New Orleans/Tampa Bay(both 7-2, whichever doesn't win the South) Atlanta, St. Louis (for now) Washington and the NY Giants.

Teams out of it (not mathematically eliminated but still..)

NFC North (Packers have clinched, havent they? 5 Game lead on Detroit with 7 games left)

Chicago (2-7)

Minnesota (2-7)

Detroit (3-6)

NFC West

Seattle (3-6)

Arizona (4-5)

NFC East

Dallas (3-6)

NFC South

Carolina (3-6)

The AFC is still pretty much wide open, the only teams you can eliminate right now are Houston (2-7) and Cincy (1-8)..all the other Teams are at least 4-5 or better and no further back than 2 games from first place..

With the banning of Leena, I am going to have to ask that I be put in her place in the standings. She would have wanted it that way.

Uh..no..well..it wouldn't matter cause you cant pick games like she did.

Kingpk won this week hes 11-1 (missed philly and the Tie game) so he's got the bonus regardless of what happens on MNF.

Im still 3rd place, tied with Kingpk if Denver wins..and ahead of him by 1 pt if Denver loses. Regardless of what happens on MNF Im 9 pts out of first and 5pts out of 2nd..

Actually, I'd just ask her what to pick over AIM or something. I've been doing pretty well the last several weeks, actually. All that's really hampered me is the fact I started late.

Now now. It's at the Metrodome. That could cause some problems.

Of course, I could also have many beautiful women throw themselves at me tomorrow.
