Anyone else a mac user?

I run os 9.2 g4 800, I think its 800, not totaly sure.

 

So anyone else on the board use mac, or am i the only one.

Yeah, I'm on a Mac when I'm at school- an iBook that runs on OSX.

 

It's a great system, rarely messes up and very easy to use after a quick tutorial.

 

It's only annoying because I can't play downloadable games like EWR, and the only file sharing client available is Limewire.

When i was at college we used macs adn i use it here at home, but yeah it sucks program wise cause we only have limewire and no EWR, but I think we can get a dos shell, but no idea about it.

 

Shooter, do you use it at home? Im assuming so, but making sure.

i used to have macs since i was young, my 1st computer was an apple IIE. my last mac was a powermac with powerpc 300mhz, and then my family bought a dell, and then i built my own pc.

I've never used a Mac, probably ever... Oh wait, I think they were at my school in 5th grade. Meh.

 

I just like PCs for some reason... Maybe it's because our first computer was a Commodore 64, followed up by some freakin' old Acer... I miss that thing.

I have a Mac in my bedroom that I hardly ever use, since I didn't bother to hook that one up to the net.

 

Where the fuck do i find games for Mac's?

see the thing about macs is that they hardly ever crash like windows' "illegal opperations, etc," but when they DO crash, they crash so badly that the computer wont turn on

We have Macs at school, but the thing is they LOCK OUT internet explorer, and you're forced to use a 5 year old version of Netscape.

as for finding software for Macs I think the only options are Apple.com or Hotline. P2P is the only option unless you want to pay for it threw some mail order company.

And mac stuff is not cheap. I own 1 game for the mac and I dont even use it. I downloaded it for free, but its like the only game i ever found. Macs are more work then play computers.

I love Macintoshes... but the there is just no software for them. That's why I got a PC recently. Cynicalprofit is right... they're more of a work machine.

If I had bothered to find this thread, I wouldn't have made this lame thread.

 

Anyway, yes I am a fervent MacAddict. I use a G4 450 at work and a pathetic iMac G3 350 (blueberry) at home, but I hope to upgrade to an iMac G4 800 with 17" flat screen.

 

As for the gaming issues, sure there are a billion PC games out there, but they're all iterations on the same thing. Mac gamemakers tend to either only port the best ones or make games that are intuitive to Mac users. Besides, if I'm going to play a video game, I'd rather do it on a game console with a 31" TV than on a tiny computer screen.

 

And besides, Macs are more geared toward the creative aspect of computer use, like graphic arts, music, animation, etc. I'd rather spend four hours on Photoshop or iMovie than on Unreal Tournament or WarCraft any day of the week.

I have the iMac DV special edition, and it rocks your world. Thing is, I was violently against Macs before I got one for Christmas, and now I can't stand PCs. I do have Virtual PC though, basically just to play EWR. Plus, if you're a Journalist, it's the perfect computer. Mine rarely crashes, and has very good file restore capabilites (I learned this the only time it crashed in the three years I've owned it).

I just got the new ibook. Unreal. My friend made a slide show complete with backing music on iMovie, and it came out like something you'd pay a few hundred dollars to have a pro do it. i love tha mac.

i'm rocking an iMac w/ 800 MHz and OS X. I've been on the Mac system for over 10 years.

 

Little did I know how wrong I was for being angry at my father for bringing home a Mac SE way back in the day....
