Guest starvenger Report post Posted November 7, 2002 ...unless Shania Twain joined the race and I didn't know it. OK, I'm catching up from the past 3 weeks... Transformers Generation 1 part 6/6 Creators: Chris Sarracini/Pat Lee/Rob Armstrong Rating: 7/10 Notes:This book is late, which loses 1 point from me. However, the payoff to the miniseries is great, and is definitely the best issue of the series. Kinda sad that they knocked off a couple of characters, but it probably had to happen and helps to better establish this new Dreamwave/Hasbro continuity. Transformers: The War Within #2 Creators: Simon Furman/Don Figueroa/Elaine Yu Rating: 8.5/10 Notes:OK, now that I've read the Newsarama artice about the "new" TF Universe, things are making better sense about the continuity errors with the Marvel comics and the old cartoons. But anyways, this continues the backstory on the new universe, and it's a fun read. The art is decent as well, and I love the Cybertronian designs of the Transformers. Colour me impressed. Agent X #4 "Dead Man's Switch Part 4: Invisible" Creators: Gail Simone/Udon Studios Rating: 6.5/10 Notes:Well, they introduced a kid into the mix in the last issue, and that's never a good thing. Other than that, there's nothing particularly wrong here - the story moves along well, there's some decent humour and a surprise twist, but it's just kinda there, you know? Battle of the Planets #4 Creators: Munier Sharrieff/Wilson Tortosa/Udon/Alex Ross Rating: 7/10 Notes:This isn't too bad, although if clandestine activities and government investigations aren't your thing you might want to avoid this issue. Although since it ends with a bang, this should lead to some fun next issue. Uncanny X-Men #415 "Secrets" Creators: Chuck Austen/Sean Phillips/Steve Uy Rating: 8/10 Notes:Northstar's got a thing for Iceman, but Iceman hits on Clayface (well kinda)'s wife, and Clayface hits Iceman back. Oh yeah, and it looks like Black Tom has done some funky things to Iceman and Angel. Lots of fun. eXiles #19 "So Lame part 2" Creators: Judd Winick/Mike McKone/Jon Holdredge Rating: 6.5/10 Notes:A pretty good story, but the ending seemed quite abrupt and left me feeling like I'd just watched a recent Raw - enjoyable until the run-in finish. They never really explore the Longshot angle to any great degree, which is quite frustrating. I suppose the title says it all.
