We've been around for more than a year...

With IGNWF dying and a new breed of SWF superstars taking place, I think it would be best if we honored the MANY people who helped make this federation what it is today, and that includes the JL.

So, if you're up for this idea, and I honestly don't see why you wouldn't be, I'd like you to enter the top five people you think should be in the Hall of Fame. I'll be able to compile a list of who all of you think should be the first entrant.

And BTW, you can leave Jay out of your list, since he is an absolute given to get in. Unless, of course, you think listing his name will honor him...

I've always liked the idea, so I'll enter my top 5:

Stubby P. McWeed

Rane

PDS

Spike

Divefire

This is tough, and I always feel like you are slighting somebody by not listing them.  But if I had to narrow it downm to the five who have had the biggest impact (excluding Jayson, Drew is right, that's a given), here we go:

- Cyclone Comet

- Rane

- Neilsen of the Jungle

- Stubby P. McWeed

- Spike

Curse you and your fives!

1. Cyclone Comet - a must have.

2. Stubby P. McWeed - so if I return he won't job me for life.

3. Neilsen of the Jungle - f*ck yea.

4. Rane - Because.

5. Spike - Because because.

Unfortunately this leaves out people like PDS, and Galatea, and maybe (in a pinch) Divefire.

This isn't going to be the only induction into the Hall of Fame. There will be more somewhere down the line. So you don't really have to worry if you think there are "honorable mentions" because there is more room in the Hall down the road.

The logic behind my picks is that, obviously, they are all awesome writers, but also I think they have all been commissioners in the past. Being the commissioner requires a dedication that I don't think I have, or would want, to be honest. I saw the effects it had on Divefire ;)

Although I think PDS was only storyline commish...

- Cyclooooone Comet!  Why?  Because he rules.. Toast to Comet

- Rane, because he was the first champ, a three-time champ, and he had a hellacious feud with PDS.  His return wasn't that grand, but nothing hides the beginning.  Toast to Rane.

- Stubby.  As a hard worker, he fought back from the Battle for Survival to become a damn good World champion.  Toast to Stubbs.

- Neilsen of the Jungle.  He was a good motherf**ker, and a talented motherf**ker, and Neilsen, toast to you...

- The last one is a draw.  Spike, Axis, PDS, or Divefire?  I can't choose.

So many people to choose from....well, let's give it a try. Excluding Jayson, who IS a lock, let's see....

- Drew/Rane: The first, and perhaps the only, man in the history of the league to truly dominate.

- Stubby P. McWeed: Promo: He may have been the greatest ever. He, along with the next man, was EXTREMELY influential in the league's transistion from the old skool to new skool. Mothernature says he deserves to be in the Hall.

- Cyclone Comet: The man, the myth, the legend. NO ONE is a bigger legend in the league's history than Comet. Just mentioning this guy's name brings about a certain awe. That's HOF material right there.

I'd say after those three, it gets a little hazy. If I had to take two more, I'd go with Divefire and Spike.

Is there going to be a separate WF and JL ones?  Cause if not, then nobody in the JL will probably end up in one right now.

...namely me...

So should there be separate WF and JL halls of fame, here are my nominations:

WF:

-Drew/Rane

-Stubby

-NotJ

-Cyclone Comet

-PDS

JL/ML(cause they should be included):

-Me

-Xstasy

-ELM

-Thoth

-Xero

I think that the JL one's need just a bit more thought put into them, but I just thought of those on the top of my head.

PROMO (Stubby P. McWeed);

"Why does Spike keep getting mentioned?

Spike sucked buttocks!

So who should be in the hall of fame besides Jayson?

1) Stubby P. McWeed

2) Rane

3) Neilsen of the Jungle

4) The Hville Thugg

5) Andrea/GOAT

Those are mine.  Why were they choosen?  Because I think they all contributed heavily to the flavour and character of this fed.

I mean a guy like Magnifico may write a good match, but when you look back...what non-storyline mark did has he left on the fed and what has he changed?

I probably should have put Comet on there, but it's been soooo long since he was a factor.  Longevity has to count for something.

Mothernature say, indeed..."

In response to Stubby I have to argue against Hville Thugg only because he's still active.

Hall of Fame's generally include retired or inactive people.

As for the possibility of  JL/ML hall, bumped people and inactive JLers probably would fill out that list.

With my limited historical knowledge of the league, I think I can pull off a JL list....

1) HVille Thugg (bumped) -longest World Title reign and look at what he did *after* he got bumped. I fear being bumped myself just because of him.

2) Xstacy (bumped) longest title reign ever in the JL, and it's cool to honor the EUS title by proxy :)

3) Boston Strangler (bumped) - When I joined he was the dominant wrestler. Held the TV title the longest (at the time ;-) ) and was holding the Euro title and the World title. Then I got to know him and realized he's a workhorse that is willing to do anything to advance plot and get himself and his opponent over. He should be here.

4) LDP (bumped) - After Strangler, LDP was "The World Champ You Won't Beat" and no one did. Always one step ahead or behind Strangler, after TBS went, you knew his time was soon. The only thing that stopped him was outside interference.

5) Stryke (inactive) - What can't you say about this guy? Great wrestler, could win at any time, and not afraid to lose. So not afraid to lose, for example, that he wrote himself to lose four straight to get others over and his match won all four. If it weren't for poorly placed no-shows he'd be all over the SJL Title history thread. As it is, he belongs here.

These are just my opinions. Feel free to call me whatever you want in response to what might seem to be horrid picks. I'm still kinda new after all ;)

I'll get in on this...

WF HALL OF FAME

Rane - 3 time world champ and backbone of the fed in the early days.  This large man gets an automatic bud

Stubby - dominated before leaving, undefeated for the world title.  Reached the 40 win mark with his recent win over The Prophet.  Now the head of all the WF, the pot head everyone loves to hate is a shoe in, assuming he doesn't make a comeback.

Neilson - No doubt, this foul mouth SOB stirred things up in the fed...with his hard, coarse lyrics and his hardcore brand wrestling...his presence will be felt for a long time to come.

Comet - There is no way that any Hall of Fame discussion could be complete until you talk about this guy.  His amazing promos are still the pinnacle that today's superstars reach for, and his high-flying matches left treadmarks on many an opponent.

Goat/Andrea - A staple in the fed since it's inception, and her contributions go without saying.  She opened the doors for women wrestlers in this fed and is still revered by all as one of the best this fed has ever seen.

Recent Retirees who won't make it on the first go round, but will on the next...

Suicide King - The perfect heel probably sealed his hall of fame bid by finally winning the big one.  Despite the constant battles with no showing, this cocky ego-maniac made everyone take notice as a new brand of heel was born into the federation.

Chris Raynor - This beloved Carnie went out the only way you should go out in wrestling...on his back doing the job to someone else.  He put over many a superstar, and while he never won the big one, you can't even say Midnight Carnival without mentioning this guy.

Now, let's talk JL.

Xstasy - The only superstar to ever hold all three JL titles at the same time left his mark on both superstars and fans alike.  The new breed of superstar began right here with his stunning good looks and his pride shattering insults.  The ladies loved him and the men envied him as this young diva (yes bitch, you are a diva) soared to heights that most didn't think were even possible in the junior league.

HVT - Holding the streak for longest world title reign was just one of the many things he did for the JL during his tenure.  The man some consider the most successful bumpee of the new era left his mark with devastating power and life altering finishers, while attempting to keep a faltering main event scene alive.

Mistress Sarah - You can't talk JL without mentioning this tempermental bitch.  Her rage went far beyond a woman scorned and changed the perception of women in this fed.  With her devastating kicks and her jaw-dropping sex-appeal, she stood up and told the world that you can be drop dead gorgeous and still be the most dangerous heel in the league.

SoS - His work ethic was unparalleled and he leaped up to the main event when there was surely a desperate need for main event faces.  His talent would have seen him ride a wave into the WF if not for his unfortunate departure soon after finally reaching the top.

Recent bumpees who will get their on the second go round...

(sorry guys, but I'm all burnt out on the descriptions)

::sniffs:: Thanks, Thugg.

I was going to nominate myself for being the innovator of women's wrestling in the IGNWF, FIRST in the federation, but since Da H has done it ...

I second that nomination!

Oh, and one more nomination I'd like to mention ...

The Midnight Carnival as a whole.  Before I joined, they were the most awesome group around. (Y)

Ok, it seems that we have enough interest in starting a hall of fame up.  So, let's do it.  Since time moves a little bit faster for us as far as people leaving and what not, we'll do the hall of fame every 6 months or so.

Here's how we'll do it in the future.  We'll have public voting for 6-10 nominees for the final ballot.  Then, we'll do a private vote for the inductees.

For this, our first hall of fame class, the ballot's already set since everyone's had a chance to post and the same names seem to come up.

To Vote:

You have 4 votes.  Basically, you vote for the 4 people you want to see inducted into the hall of fame...no more...no less.  On the ballot, there is an "other" category, however, this is not a joke, but is there in case you have some one you really feel strongly about and want to try and get inducted.  Please, no stupid names in there nor any outrageous things.

To vote, send a PM to me at HVilleThugg with the subject, {insert name here}'s Hall Of Fame Ballot.  For example, I would send HVille Thugg's Hall Of Fame Ballot.  I'm not sure if that fits, and if it doesn't, then take out "Hall Of Fame".  Whatever, I just don't want a million PMs with different subjects.  Anyway, in the body of the PM, first list the names of the 4 people you'd like to vote for, and indicate with an asterik (*), the person on your vote that wasn't on the original ballot.  Underneath your 4 votes, you may add comments about why you think your people should be in the hall of fame.  I'll post the best quotes when I post the hall of fame.

So, here we  go:

First Ever SWF/IGNWF Hall of Fame Ballot

Rane

Stubby "Pots" McWeed

Cyclone Comet

Spike

Neilson of the Jungle

Pimp Daddy Sarp

Divefire

GOAT/Andrea Montgomery

NTD

Curry

Funyon

Chris Raynor

Suicide King

Axis

Each person is allowed exactly ONE ballot.

There are your nominees.  Keep in mind that your vote need not be for a person with a successful wrestling career since we've had announcers and others who have contributed to this fed as well.  Now for the rules...

Hall of Fame Selection Rules

1. Inductees must receive 60% of the vote.

2. Inductees must not be in active competition in the WF or the JL at time of induction.  There is no time frame on how long it's been since they've been active, they just can't be active.

3. Inductees must have been in active  competition for at least 3 consecutive months.

Selection Process

1. Voting closes on FRIDAY, MARCH 8TH by 5pm board time...that's central folks.  No ballots will be accepted after this time, and no extentions will be granted.

2. Votes tallied by HVilleThugg.

3. Hall of Fame announced on SUNDAY, MARCH 10TH.  Do not ask me about them before then.

Voting Rules

1. Each person is allowed exactly ONE ballot.

2. Each person may select exactly ONE person for the "other" category, if they choose to use it.

3. Each person is allowed exactly 4 votes per ballot.  Please, no honorable mentions.

I think that's it.  Everyone, please vote so we can get a legitimate first Hall Of Fame class.  If I left anyone out, I'm sorry...next time the nominations will be made more formally.  If you feel strongly about that person, use the "Other" category.

Good luck to all the inductees...and let me know if I missed anything here.

I have yet to comment on your stupid hall of fame...  Ya mother f***ers are talking about ICEMAN part of your shit?  What happen to the people back in the days..  The FTW, the RX, the ANARCHY...  What about them?  Nah, ya want recent shit right...  What about Axis?  Comet, shit even Mercury played a big factor...  Mark Stevens..  And others that come before people like Iceman and others that I would not mention...

Ya people only see the recent, well, hall of fame means people that have done alot for this fed to be where they are..  Not only in the top with Rane and Stubby, with Jayson and Spike and others..  But with wrestlers that have tried and display their best to become the best they can be.  Always having something planned with storylines and always around..  Disregarding their personal lives to become part of this fed.  But ya mother f***ers dont see that shit and you know what..  I aint speaking no more...

Open ya eyes, that's all I have to say..

This is long overdue.  I've already sent in my votes, but I think it's worth sharing them with y'all.

Rane

Stubbs

Comet

Neilsen

because those four men more than any other determined how matches would be written and storylines pursued.

That said, I also think a JL/ML HoF would be a good idea.  Obviously since the ML is dead, we could induct more of them in the first round since no more of them are coming. ;)  There are so many talents in the minor leagues who either didn't make it in the big time or who didn't last til a bump.  People like Xero and Ash, who may not have made it to the big dance but sure as well have influenced many, many JLers.

If there is one though, I really recommend we do our best to insure that the many ML talents aren't left behind.  already many JLers have no idea who those people are, which is a shame because some of them were fan-freaking-tastic.

There will be a JL/ML joint Hall of Fame.  I didn't have time to come up with the list when I did the other one, but I'll do it tonight while i wait for the show.

I'll try to get all the MLers, but I may miss a few, so if you think I'll forget someone, post their name here.

Alright... About a JL hall of fame. It's a debatable idea. Why? If you're good enough to be in the JL HOF, then 9 times out of 10 then you should be in the WF. Which, kinda means you should be fighting for the WF hall of fame. Everybody who's been bumped from the JL should be in the HOF, making it completely irrelevent. And I completely agree with Bo on what he said.

ML HOF would only ever contain 5/6 people. No, not ten. After the inital people, that's it. Why? The ML only ever had about 20 people consistently active. 10 people in the HOF? Yeah, right...

ML HOF would have:

Raynor, King Of Hearts, Adam The Red, Edwin, Spider. Silencer and JD could also be right there. Actually, probably a definate on JD - he did carry the ML for a while there.

No offense to Thoth, but he basically won all the belts due to being the only consistent writer left in the fed.

Now to vote for this shindig... You forgot McCheese!

Ok, I'll keep them separate.  I was thinking about not doing a JL HOF because they would probable end up in the WF anyway, but there are those people like SoS that won't ever make it to the WF.  I'd like to recognize those people who did big things in the JL, but left before they were bumped or may not make the WF HOF.

It's about time that people (Crusen) see where I'm coming from...  Ya mother fuckers dont see through the mist?  What?  Next time around ya gonna nominate people like Wilson?  What the fuck is going on here?  Ya gonna nominate people like Stone Froze and shit..  You know, I really dont want to disrespect people, but damn, ya mother fuckers are just picking people that barely was around..

I have nothing against Comet?  He's one of my favorite...  But he...  Well, you know what, keep him...  Because he makes the storylines good, and he always brings out the best of people..  Even though he left a long time ago and havent been around when Stubby made this fed the best ever.

People that you nominated, you just did that because you like their style and characters...  That's all good, but what have they done for the fed?  Have they made it better?  Are they always in constant fueds with others?  Think about it before you choose...

Thugg has a point, what about the people that did their shit in the JL, but of course, personal situations came between them and this fed and had to departure..  Those people should also be recognize...

I really dont like this hall of fame shit, but if ya gonna do it, do it to people that always been around and done their shit...

I nominate a few people..

1:  Stubby..  You know he's the best around and he has made this fed the best ever...  Stubby, I give you props and you will be the man.

2:  Thugg...  This mother fucker right here always have a storylines and always brings his best..  He's always thinking of ways to make himself and others better..  He's the man, that's why he's the champion right now.

3:  Axis...  This man has been around forever...  He's the sleeping best in the fed...  People over look his efforts with close defeats..  But, I'm not looking at his records, I'm looking at what he has done for this fed..  He is one of the founding members of the most elite group in JL history, RX..  And he was named the best European champion in the JL..  He was also consider to be a top contender and a definant world title holder in the WF...  And he's also doing something productive, weather it's fueding with Thugg, or just beating somebody's ass...  He's the quiet storm..

4:  Ya may disagree with me because of what happened in the past, but, I nominate Mercury...  This guy has been around for a while, shit, longer than most of the people in the fed, longer than I.  And he's been in good storylines...  Most of you dont remember about the masked man, but that was a great storyline way back, a long time ago.  Mercury always brings out his goods, and even though his self confindence is low, everybody knows he's the uncrowned champion..  He could of easily become champion if it wasnt for people putting him down...

5:  Last and not least..  Fallout...  Ya remember Prime Evil right?  I was part of that group and so was He...  He was the man, and right now he's still the unspoken for man..  This guy is always in good fueds for the light weight title..  And there's always a good storyline in the works...  This guy deserves respect and got my respect...

--  People who should be nominated for the next one ---

1:  Rane...  Obvious reasons..  Three time champion and at one point, the most feared writer in the buisness...  Good storylines with that shingisosihdfoahodfdildo guy..

2:  Mr. G...  Dont know much about him, but, he's a marker and he does his best for storyline purpose..

3:  Mark Stevens..  He's been here a bit shorter than I, but look at what he accomplished so far...  I give him the most respect in this league because he's been the best with a lot of personal situation...  He's married and he got a job, but yet, he brings out 150 percent every time he writes...  Good storyline with the Carnies and the fued between him and his best friend the King..

Those are my three later nominations..

I have spoken

And I aint say anything more..

Bo
