Guest SlaytanicTapeTrades Report post Posted November 8, 2002 I honestly think it will. Axl is a perfectionist, he has been working on this thing for YEARS and millions has gone into its production. This thing just HAS to pay off. Their recent tour is makin' the $$$, in fact, they sold out MSG in 15 minutes. To dismiss GNR's sucess because AXL is in it, is stupid. What about Buckethead? Have you HEARD that guy play? The whole band is very talented, and just like Axl said, it's gonna be REAL sweet when every bastard that doubted them eat their words upon the release of Chinese Democracy. Illusion - G N' F'N R's! "Axl is a perfectionist" Why yes he is. Hes a Perfectionist of Fuckin up. Tonites Show (Vancouver) The Start of the N.A. Tour was canceled cause Axl didnt show up. But that isnt realy any "New" news since he does have a history of Not showing up or leaving the show early. So now We have 15000 fans Pissed off, and Riot season has begun. People have been calling the Radio station who brought GNR up here have told them NEVER to bring them back. Dont get me wrong I do Like GNR the older stuff but if Axl keeps this up noone is gona care abut him or the "New" band Brett Axl Rose
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted November 8, 2002 It wasn't cancelled because they "didn't show up" it was cancelled because something happened at the border and they couldn't get in the country. And how does this reflect anything on the new band? The OLD band walked off stage in the middle of a concert, in Vancouver as well I believe wasn't it?, and started a giantic riot. And that happened a bunch of times. This time it sounded like it was something out of their control. If people aren't going to care, then why did they love them the first time? They were a lot worse then than they are now.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Wow. I hope they fix these border issues before the Toronto show later this month. They cancelled the Buffalo listing for the tour so I have to go there. Don't fuck me twice!!!

Eh, your obviously a fan though, so all the power to you brother. I'm quite aware this happend, and the border issues are your explanation why. Axl was walking off stage in like '92, thats 10 years ago for all you D grade maths students out there. He's 40 years old now and a FUCK load more mature than he was back then. Like i said, sit tight and don't complain when he makes you eat your words. Illusion welcomes you to his jungle

Dude I live In Vancouver So I think I know what happened. The rest of the band washas been here since wensday & there are 2 Stories about it One Axl wasnt able to fly out of LA to get here today due to Weather problems? but yet every other flight could get out of LA 2 Axl didnt want to do the show cause not that many tickets were sold. The first one was stated by the news, the 2nd one is a rumor I never said it had anything to do with the new band, I had just said that Axl fucked up again
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Okay, i understand you voicing your opinion. You said the second is a rumour? The one about him not coming to a show because not enough tickets were sold? I don't think that is like Axl...he's pretty passionate about his fans, although, i'll be honest with you, i wouldnt have any idea what runs through that man's head sometimes... Oh well, when its confirmed why, then i shall either happily be proven right, or admit defeat. I'm happy doing either..why? BECAUSE I WON PEARL JAM TICKETS Ahem... Illusion - Also a fan of Pearl Jam
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Speaking of eating words, check this out... VANCOUVER (CP) -- Thousands of fans rioted for about an hour outside GM Place in downtown Vancouver on Thursday night after Axl Rose, the lead singer of Guns N' Roses, failed to appear for a concert. It was to have been the first show of the rock band's North American leg of its Chinese Democracy World Tour. Guns N' Roses has a history of concert no-shows. A band spokesman said poor weather conditions at Los Angeles airport made it impossible for Rose's plane to fly. Staff at concert promoter Clear Channel Entertainment weren't available for comment, however, a band spokesman said the performance scheduled Friday in Tacoma, Wash., would go ahead. The band rehearsed Wednesday in GM Place without Rose, who rarely rehearses with his band. The trouble began when the venue doors didn't open as scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Some people in the lineup began leading chants of "B.S., B.S." Ticket sales wickets were shut down and when the official announcement came over the loudspeakers at 7:40 p.m., tempers flared. "That's it, I'm trashing all my GNR stuff," said fan Dana Claydon. "I've been waiting for this since '93 when Axl cancelled the last time. What a jerk." Within 15 minutes, the upset crowd turned into an angry mob smashing some GM Place windows. Police cars began arriving and police and stadium security began to move the crowd away from the broken windows. After a Roman candle was fired off in the direction of officers, police advanced and told people to disperse. Most did, however, some rowdies began smashing ticket sales windows and throwing rocks at police from the parking lot across from the stadium. Alysha Stephanischin, 22, of Japser, Alta., was one of the people caught between the two sides and wound up being struck by a billy club. "I don't blame the officer, there was so much going on, but we weren't dong anything," she said through tears. "I really wish we didn't come tonight, I didn't even want to." Jim and Stacy Stelmacher of Port Alberni, B.C., came for the day to hook up with Ryan Stookert and Angie Beers who flew in from Calgary just for the show that was supposed to be a birthday surprise for Stookert, a DJ at CJAY radio. "What a great present, but I guess I just was never meant to see this band," Stookert said. "We're getting out of here now." Refunds for the show will be available at point of purchase Nov. 14. In 1991, Rose precipitated a riot in a St. Louis suburb by jumping off the stage and attacking a fan videotaping the heavy metal band's concert. Sixty people were hurt and the Riverport Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, Mo., was wrecked. Several subsequent concerts on the band's tour were cancelled. Several lawsuits were filed and Rose was charged with assault and property damage. Rose never surrendered to face the charges and was arrested a year later by federal agents at Kennedy International Airport in New York as he returned from a European tour. He was eventually put on probation for two years and ordered to donate $50,000 to five social service organizations. ------------------------ First off, WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU ATTACK A FAN FOR VIDEO TAPING YOUR CONCERT? Obviously the person wanted to take it home and re-live the rush afterwards, the the FUCK is Rose's issue for doing THAT? I didn't know that happend... Weather problems seem logical, and i can see it being a huge disappointment...honestly, i dunno how some guys live with themselves when they cause this much destruction. Eh, when they come over here to Australia, if they 'no show', it'll be WW3 i swear to God... However, PEARL JAM don't 'no show' and I HAVE FREE TICKETS Wohoo, go me Illusion - Admits defeat
Guest DrainYou42 Report post Posted November 9, 2002 He's 40 years old now Yeah, there's nothing like watching an aging rockstar try to recapture what they had back in their glory days. . . Pathetic.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 9, 2002 YEAH! They should all shoot themselves before having to worry about what people will think if they want to keep making music.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted November 9, 2002 Actually the news has dropped the weather thing and are saying the plane left late because of mechanical problems, not weather. And either way, Guns and Roses did NOT cancel the show, it was the arena management. Who knows? If they had let the two opening acts play their sets. Maybe give each 10 extra minutes or something. Then set up GnR's stage. Axl probably would've been there by then. It's not like he was sitting on the runway. He was on the way there, just running late. It wouldn't be the first time that GnR went on an hour or two late. They've also already said the date will be made up so why would you make up the show if tickets didn't sell? And really, why is this Axl's fault anyway? He may be a moron but all rock stars are. It's the manager of the band that is supposed to make sure crap like this doesn't happen. The manager is suppose to set up the transportation and get the people there with plenty of time in case of something like this happening.

Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted November 9, 2002 He's 40 years old now Yeah, there's nothing like watching an aging rockstar try to recapture what they had back in their glory days. . . Pathetic. Since when has Axl ever tried to 'recapture' anything? Use Your Illusion 1 & 2 where NOTHING like Appetite for Destruction, why? Because Axl, like all real muscians, experiment and push their sound in order to grow. Axl has always done that, and with this new album, you can bet he'll keep doing it. So as far as i see it, the only 'pathetic' thing around here, is your logic. So do yourself a favour and don't bother. Illusion
