Guest godthedog Posted November 10, 2002 Report Posted November 10, 2002 mick jagger. he set the gold standard by which all subsequent frontmen are judged.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 I gotta go with Steven Tyler. I met Aerosmith once (sortof. It was a meetngreet thing before their concert here), he was nice and all that, and when they started doing the group photos, he said 'Hey, Stephen, come on up here!'. And he didn't do that with ANYBODY ELSE there. That kicked so much ass. AND Joe Perry gave me a guitar pic (don't know if he did that for anyone else). Best. Concert. Ever. Other great ones: Freddy Mercury Mike Patton from FNM Bob Geldof (I don't like Mondays RULES!) I hate this, but I can't think of Blind Melon's front man. I know it, but it won't come out. But he had such an awesome voice. EDIT: And about Aerosmith deteriorating, that's just...madness! Sure, it doesn't stack up to their classic stuff, but then, what does? I liked Just Push Play, and Nine Lives. Although I DO think that they must've gotten paid a WHOLE lot to share a stage with N*Suck and Britney Spears. Anywho... Aerosmith still owns anything else out there right now.
Guest ZGangsta Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 I voted for Axl Rose, but the fact that Bruce Dickinson is not on there is a crime. He'd be my second pick, followed by Bono.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Blind Melon's lead singer was Shannon Hoon, who was from the same hometown as Axl Rose.
Guest What? Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Gotta give my vote to the coolest lead singer ever Mick Jagger.
Guest BifEverchad Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Mick Jagger Steven Tyler Jim Morrison Michael Stipe Kurt Cobain pick one...just not any of the ones that were listed in that poll (exception: Vedder, Eddie)
Guest Kinetic Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Mick Jagger. Most other great frontmen were just a pale imitation. Stephen Tyler, for instance, owes much to Mr. Jagger; not just for paving the way in rock for a large-mouthed man, but also just his stage demeanor in general.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Mick Jagger Steven Tyler Jim Morrison Michael Stipe Kurt Cobain pick one...just not any of the ones that were listed in that poll (exception: Vedder, Eddie) Steven Tyler hands down. That little dance he does where he moves then flicks the mic stand out then pulls it back in (most commonly seen on the 'Walk this way" clip they did with RUN DMC) is just cool, plus all the handstands and flips the guy does on stage. At his age, he can STILL do it like a rock star should. Illusion - Back in the saddle
