Hitman 2

Recommended Posts

Guest Nevermortal

I just picked this up for Xbox yesterday...all I can say is....WOW.

Easily, without a doubt, the most challenging game I've ever played in my 12+ years of video gaming. And I have it on the lowest difficulty setting (normal).

If you want a "thinking" game, then you need to pick up Hitman 2 for the PC, or PS2/Xbox. Its definitely worth it. Oh, and be prepared to do a lot of trial and error gameplay.

Amen, Amen, A'f'n'men. I have it for the PS2 myself, and it is outstanding! This is a game where you MUST NOT use cheats, and you MUST NOT use a walkthrough guide. The point of this baby is TRUE stelth, period.

It is possible to go through the ENTIRE game, by only killing your target. To get the best rating for each stage, you must kill ONLY your target, and not alert or be seen by any guards. Thank God for the chloroform (sp?)!

This is one of the greatest games I have ever played also. Now that I think about it, I've said that a LOT durring the past few months. :D :D :D

I've found the control and aiming system to be a little challenging at first, but this is no doubt one of the smartest games I've encountered in a long time. From stealing clothes to hiding the dead bodies of people you kill, all around goodness.

I was thinking about downloading the game, but I hate games that use too much stealth.

Blah.

Well, you can play it as an action game if you WANT, you just wont get the best rankings. That is one of the great things about it. You can either go 100% unseen, or you can be a killer of all men, lol. It also is great that you can change from first person to third person (and vice versa) at anytime you want. :D :D :D

I actually find them better than 1st person shooters. Max Payne was a godly TPS.

Decisions, decisions.

Never played Unreal, don't really have any interest in it.

I wasn't feeling Hitman. I've never been into Stealth games. They just seem like a chore at times. The AI in this game is challenging (yes, even on the lowest setting), which I thought was great. But having to play the first mission about 20 times before progressing in anyway was frustrating.

This game has a first person perspective? Shit, I had no idea. While I prefer TPS to FPS, Hitman's camera system is just plain terrible in Third Person mode. Where is that option?

Well, on the Xbox, you hit the white button to get to First Person view.

It sounds cool. Would I be missing something by getting this one without ever playing the 1st installment?

Not really. The story to the game is easy enough to understand, no previous knowlege of the series is needed. The first one isn't that great anyway.

Not to jump on the bandwagon late or anything, but this game is seriously BAD ASS. As for the whole "No cheats" thing, I'd just like to add that I put in the all weapons code and there are some insane weapons in this game...for example, the 4 different versions of the sniper rifle and the anti-vehicle weapon are my favorite weapons. This has got to be one of, if not the, GOTY.

I like all kinds of shooting and kiling games. From UT to GTA to 007. I'll be getting Hitman 2 in a month or two. I'm also looking forward to the new UT game.

What does that and society tell us?

Rob will go on to shoot up his high school.

I was about to buy this game the other day, but Tony Hawk 4 was on sale for $25 at Frys......I think Hitman 2 will be my next game. I saw the first one advertised for the PC and I wanted it, but I just have no desire to buy video cards for my PC in order to play the 1 or 2 PC games I may buy in 3 years time, so I think Hitman 2 for PS2 will be my next purchase. It was rated M for language graphic violence and "strong sexual themes" anyone care to elaborate on that a little witholding as much spoiling as possible.....

Unfortunately, CloneCD won't make a perfect copy of this game because it uses some funky new copy-protection scheme. So, I'm forced to use a cracked .exe.

Anyway, do I need to have played the first Hitman to enjoy this? Is there anything I need to know, plot-wise? I probably won't get around to playing this for a while (still in the middle of System Shock 2 (best single-player FPS I've played so far), and I'll probably tackle Deus Ex next), but I'm still looking forward to it.

I heard that you didn't need to play the first one in order to grasp Hitman 2.

See, that's the problem I have with MSG 2 as well. The game assumes you want to be stealthy. So, if you go on a killing spree, you get penalized. What the game doesn't grasp is that, there's only so long you can sneak around, before you just say "Fuck this!" and kill everything.

That's why I liked the new 007 game, Nightfire so much. it graded you on how many times you were hurt, not seen.

Great game. The PC version owns the console versions though.

I was FINALLY able to download this, and I agree with C.H.U.D.

This game owns.

I know exactly what you mean.

After about 15+ minutes of being sneaky in Hitman 2, I said, "Fuck it." and went on a little killing spree. Oh well... I guess I have to be more patient. Or either find the cheat for "God Mode"..

I was looking for a cheap game that I could have fun with for a little while and just bought this game for $7.99. I don't really like the trial and error aspect of the gameplay because I find it unrealistic, but the game does have tense moments. I wish there was a way that you could run around in stealth mode instead of having to move so slowly.

Major steal.

Reading through this thread made me nostalgic because I haven't played it in forever. I'm going to tear apart my room to find it, later.

I've only played the first level and I keep replaying it to see if I can do it perfectly. I've gotten my number of killings down, but i want to try to get the hit perfect.
