Guest JHawk Posted November 9, 2002 Report Posted November 9, 2002 Today in Wrestling History (November 9) One guess as to what we cover today.

Guest goodhelmet Posted November 9, 2002 Report Posted November 9, 2002 well, i thought your bret-benoit column ruled but this one takes the cake. seriously, it really is hard for me to believe this happened five years ago. fuuck! that's a long time. i disagree with your assessment thqt the match was better than wm12 however. why do mofos insist on knocking that match?
Guest HartFan86 Posted November 9, 2002 Report Posted November 9, 2002 why do mofos insist on knocking that match? Cause Bret was motivated and it wasn't even half of what they could do. Bret no sold Shawn the first 30 minutes. And it's boring at a lot of times. And it also isn't really realistic. 60 minutes without a fall? Yeah....ok. It's still a good match, despite what people bash. It's just that it's dissapointing.
Guest Loss4Words Posted November 10, 2002 Report Posted November 10, 2002 Had it just happened to go 60 minutes before resulting in a draw, it would have been a better match. But the Ironman match stip killed it to a certain extent simply because the fans were expecting a pinfall already. The expectations were warped, so the presentation, no matter how sound, was off as well. I only put it at about ***1/2 with the stip. Had it not been for the stip, I'd have it between **** and ****1/2.

Quite honestly, I enjoyed WM12 live, but I don't think it holds up too well, particularly in comparison to the other Bret-Shawn matches. Someone else said it. A one hour draw and WM12 is probably ****. The Ironman stip didn't necessarily take away from it, but the overtime did IMO. As it is, I'd rate WM12 around *** -- good, but not the classic some make it out to be (or I'd like it to be).
